Caitlin Clark Shares Painful Details Before Indiana Fever Return
Caitlin Clark is back for the Indiana Fever after missing five straight games, including their WNBA Commissioner's Cup championship, with a left groin injury.

Before Clark's return against the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday, she opened up about exactly how difficult it was to miss games for just the second time in her career — the first being her quad injury earlier this season.
"It's honestly been hard, I'm not going to lie to you," Clark told reporters before the early tip-off against the Valkyries at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday. "It's difficult going to prepare for games but knowing you're not going to be playing in them."
Despite her long list of accomplishments in her young career, Clark admitted that she had to stop the doubts from creeping in during her rehab.

"Just reminding myself of my abilities and what I've been able to do in this league even though I've been sitting out," Clark revealed.

Since being taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, the former Iowa Hawkeyes standout has left no doubt in fans' minds about what she can do in the league.
Averaging 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.9 assists in her nine games played this season, Clark made her second straight WNBA All-Star Game and broke the record for most fan votes in the process.
"It's really hard to stop and go, especially when you're not feeling your best," she added. "I'm trying to get my body as healthy as I can be and remain confident in myself and then do everything I can once I step back out on the court to help us win."

She finally gets her chance to contribute to a win against a Valkyries team that includes her teammate from Iowa, Kate Martin, and a member of her WNBA All-Star team for this year, Kayla Thornton.
Golden State beat Indiana 88-77 at home in their first meeting, holding Clark to 11 points on 3-for-14 shooting. On five separate occasions this season, the Fever have beaten a team in their second matchup after losing the first one.

Alabama football 2025 season preview, predictions: Kam Dewberry
When it comes to instant impact transfer portal additions this season, there are likely few that stick out more for the Alabama Crimson Tide than offensive lineman Kam Dewberry. Tasked with replacing one of the greatest offensive guards in Alabama football history in Tyler Booker, Dewberry is a player that the Crimson Tide landed in the NCAA transfer portal this offseason, coming to Tuscaloosa after multiple seasons within the SEC at Texas A&M. Advertisement With this move across the conference, Dewberry is now expected to step in immediately to fill a major hole along the Crimson Tide's offensive front, bringing experience and proven production in hopes to help replace Booker. Here is a look at everything you need to know about Alabama's newest offensive lineman, Kam Dewberry. Kam Dewberry player information Position: Offensive Line Jersey Number: No. 71 Height: 6'4 Weight: 345 Class: Senior Hometown: Humble, Texas High School: Atascocita Kam Dewberry career stats Nov 11, 2023; College Station, Texas, USA; Texas A&M Aggies offensive lineman Kam Dewberry (75) celebrates with quarterback Jaylen Henderson (16) after a touchdown during the first quarter against the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Kyle Field. Mandatory Credit: Maria Lysaker-USA TODAY Sports Coming to Alabama from Texas A&M, Dewberry was a multi-year starter in College Station who had made an impact since his freshman season back in 2022. Across the past three seasons, Dewberry has appeared in 32 games at the collegiate level, and was a 2022 Freshman All-America selection. Advertisement Kam Dewberry 2024 stats Last season, Dewberry saw action in 12 games for the Aggies, 10 of which came along the offensive line. A majority of Dewberry's appearances a year ago came at left guard. Kam Dewberry recruiting ranking Coming out of high school, Dewberry was considered as the nation's No. 64 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. A four-star recruit, Dewberry was also ranked as the No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the class, as well as the No. 10 overall player in the state of Texas where he attended Atascocita High School. Advertisement Prior to arriving at Alabama, Dewberry was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 219 overall player in the transfer portal this past offseason. Dewberry was also considered a three-star prospect in the portal, and committed to Alabama back in Dec. 2024. Kam Dewberry 2025 season outlook As we enter fall camp, Dewberry is likely the favorite to takeover as Alabama's starting left guard for the departed Tyler Booker. However, that starting spot one could argue is not exactly a given entering the fall, as Dewberry will still have to go win the job in camp over others such as Geno VanDeMark. Regardless as to whether that happens or not, it still feels likely the Texas A&M transfer will see a significant amount of action this upcoming season, starting at some point at left guard. Advertisement As to when that could happen, do not be surprised if Dewberry is a starter from day one at Alabama, and for the Texas A&M transfer to be a key member of the Crimson Tide's offensive front throughout the fall. ‘One Of The Targets': Clement Considers Ballston Spa For Ozara
'One Of The Targets': Clement Considers Ballston Spa For Ozara originally appeared on Paulick Report. Cheyenne Stable's Ozara captured the second of two divisions of Thursday's listed $135,000 De La Rose, a one-mile inner turf route restricted to older fillies and mares who have not won a graded stake in 2024-25, on opening day at Saratoga Race Course. Trained by Miguel Clement, the 4-year-old Lope de Vega bay saved ground in a stalking third position under Dylan Davis, rallying in the stretch to edge the game pacesetter Spinning Colors by a half-length in a final time of 1:34.25. Advertisement The performance earned a career-best 90 Beyer Speed Figure, improving from consecutive 88s for a 1 1/2-length coup of Gulfstream Park's Monroe in April and a third-place effort in the Grade 3 Eatontown on June 14 at Monmouth Park. 'She came back in very good order,' said Clement. 'Dylan rode a brilliant race. He saved every inch of ground and closed at the right time in the stretch. That was game and gutsy. The track was still very speed favoring. The first three early all finished in the top three. Nevertheless, I thought the filly did everything right.' Ozara's return to graded company could come in the 1 1/16-mile G2, $300,000 Ballston Spa on August 8 here. 'We have a few possibilities. Let's reassess and speak to Mr. Dobson of Cheyenne Stables. However, I'm delighted with the performance. She's gutsy, she tried very hard, and ran a great race,' Clement said. 'That [G2 Ballston Spa] is one of the targets. We are looking at it, correct.' Clement also commented on how he thought 6-5 morning line favorite Far Bridge could handle possible cut in the ground in Saturday's local G2, $200,000 Bowling Green, an 11-furlong inner turf test for older horses. 'Far Bridge can handle any ground,' said Clement. 'He won the [G1] Joe Hirsch Turf Classic on bottomless turf from last. He won the [G1] Sword Dancer on the lead on very firm turf. He handles any ground. He is top-class. Don't worry about the ground with him because he handles anything.' The versatile 5-year-old English Channel bay is campaigned by LSU Stables and has earned in excess of $2.2 million via a 17-8-3-3 record.
