The burning fuselage of the plane, which was made in the Soviet era and was nearly 50 years old, was spotted on the ground by a helicopter, and rescue crews were rushing to the scene.
Video shot from a helicopter and posted on social media showed the plane came down in a densely forested area. Pale smoke could be seen rising from the crash site.
The plane was on a flight by a privately owned Siberian-based regional airline called Angara. The aircraft's tail number showed it was built in 1976 and was operated by the Soviet flag carrier Aeroflot before the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union.

The plane was en route from the city of Blagoveshchensk to Tynda, a remote town and important railway junction in the Amur region bordering China. It dropped off radar screens while preparing to land.

Las Vegas-bound plane drops 300 feet after mid-air collision warning with UK fighter jet

A passenger jet heading to Las Vegas from Southern California in the United States took a dramatic plunge shortly after take-off on Friday in response to an alert about a nearby plane, injuring two flight attendants, authorities and passengers said. Southwest Airline flight 1496 was responding to an on-board alert about another aircraft in its vicinity, the Federal Aviation Administration said. The FAA is investigating. The crew responded to two air alerts that required the pilot to climb then descend, Southwest said in a statement. The flight departed from Hollywood Burbank Airport just before noon. Passengers posted on social media that the plane took a dramatic drop soon after take-off. Data from the flight tracking site FlightAware shows it dropped roughly 300 feet (91.44 metres) in 36 seconds. 'Pilot said his collision warning went off & he needed to avoid plane coming at us,' comedian Jimmy Dore posted on social media. The plane was in the same airspace near Burbank as a Hawker Hunter Mk. 58 just after noon local time, FlightAware data shows. A Hawker Hunter is a British fighter plane. Records show it is owned by Hawker Hunter Aviation, a British defence contracting company. The company did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.
