Marvel Studios superhero film 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps', starring
Pedro Pascal
and
Vanessa Kirby
, witnessed a significant drop in collections on its first Monday at the Indian box office.
Box Office Collection
The film opened to a strong start with Rs 5.5 crore on Friday, followed by a 33% jump on Saturday, collecting Rs 7.35 crore.
On Sunday, 'The Fantastic Four' continued its steady momentum, adding Rs 7.25 crore to its domestic total.
After a promising weekend, the film earned only Rs 1.66 crore on Day 4, bringing its total India net collection to an estimated Rs 21.79 crore, according to early box office tracking reports.
The sharp dip on Monday suggests that the film may face an uphill climb in maintaining audience interest during the weekdays.
Stiff Competition
Despite receiving positive reviews from critics and fans alike, it must be noted that the film is contending with stiff competition at the Indian box office. The Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda starrer 'Saiyaara' has continues to dominate the box office and has already crossed the Rs 250 crore mark, becoming the second-highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025.
Additionally, the mythological animated film 'Mahavatar Narsimha' also posted a strong Rs 20 crore opening weekend, further fragmenting the audience share.

International Performance
Internationally, however, 'The Fantastic Four' made a huge splash at the box office. According to studio estimates, the film earned $118 million from 4,125 North American theatres, with an additional $100 million coming from 52 international territories. This brought the global opening total to $218 million. These numbers place it as the fourth biggest global opening of 2025, trailing 'A Minecraft Movie', 'Lilo & Stitch', and 'Superman'.
It also marks the biggest Marvel opening since 'Deadpool & Wolverine', which debuted with $211 million last summer.
While the film's global numbers remain in line, its India performance may be hit by the success of domestic releases. All eyes will now turn to the weekday collections to determine whether it can sustain at the box office and go on to hit the Rs 50 crore mark.

Had to postpone my wedding five times because Sanjay Leela Bhansali was worried about finishing Devdas, recalls composer: ‘I snapped'

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known to be a hard taskmaster and recently, his longtime collaborator, Monty Sharma, who has composed music for many of his films like Black and Saawariya, and also worked on the background music of Devdas, opened up about their work relationship. Sharma shared that while Bhansali allowed him a lot of space as an artiste, he also recalled how the filmmaker would make demands that were not in alignment with his vision. He also shared that during the making of Devdas, he had to postpone his wedding five times because SLB was worried about the film's completion. In a chat with Lallantop Cinema, Sharma was asked about Bhansali's inclination towards music and if the director starts his day by listening to Lata Mangeshkar's vocals. 'I'm sure that's possible but we have never seen that. We have only seen him getting angry,' he said with a laugh. Sharma was also involved in arranging the music for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and recalled that Bhansali would repeatedly keep asking for 'magic.' 'One day, I just got up and I said, 'Sanjay ji, if you want magic, you go to PC Sorcar. I am not a magician but I will create music. We would have a lot of nok-jhok,' he recalled and added that Bhansali gave him a lot of liberty to work in his style. Talking about the title song of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Monty Sharma said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali asked for 60 violins in an orchestra and when he sat down to record, Bhansali made a request at the last minute. 'The entire orchestra was ready with 60 violins and everything and he came in at the last minute and said 'Monty, kuch aur add kar de na'. I said, 'Sanjay ji khaane mein utna hi namak daalenge jitna daal sakte hain.'' ALSO READ | Sanjay Dutt confirms 62-year-old woman left her entire Rs 72 crore property to him; reveals what he did with it Sharma recalled another anecdote from Devdas and shared that Bhansali was really fond of the song 'Silsila Yeh Chahat Ka' and wanted to include it through the background score but he was of another opinion, and did not use it in the way that the director wanted. 'He walked in the morning and said, 'Monty, what do you think of yourself? I have asked you to use the song repeatedly, you have not used it even once until 5 reels,' he recalled. As Sharma tried to explain himself, Bhansali told him, 'Who listens to the background music? People listen to the song.' Sharma recalled, 'And that was it. I snapped. I told my assistant to take out all the themes and music, just use songs everywhere.' After a couple of hours, Bhansali called him and said, 'These assistants bug me, that's why this happened. You just work with your conviction and continue with whatever you are doing.' Monty Sharma described Sanjay Leela Bhansali as a 'short-tempered' person who will not always yell at the person he is mad at, but show his anger towards other people so they can feel the anger around them. He then recalled postponing his wedding because Bhansali was worried about the completion of Devdas. 'I had postponed my wedding 5 times for Devdas,' he said and recalled that he went looking for a venue when his wedding was just two days away. At this point, Bhansali called him and criticised the film's background score and said that even Shah Rukh Khan hated it. 'He called and said, 'Shah Rukh saw the thing and he said 'sabse bakwas background hai (it's the worst background).' What have you done Monty?' I was shocked. I said, 'Sanjay ji, you have listened to the whole thing. How can you say that?'' When Sharma landed up at the studio, he found that someone had messed up the mixing of the song. 'I told him, 'Sanjay ji, you don't do all of this, this is not your cup of tea.' That entire thing was redone then,' he recalled.

Indira Krishnan opens up about Ranbir Kapoor's transformation from Animal to Ramayana: ‘His dedication is 200%'

Actor Indira Krishnan, who played Ranbir Kapoor's mother-in-law in Animal, is now working alongside him again in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming mythological epic Ramayan. This time, she takes on the role of Kaushalya, Lord Ram's mother and she says the contrast in Ranbir's performance between the two films is nothing short of extraordinary. Actor Indira Krishnan discusses Ranbir Kapoor's transformation for his role as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan in a new interview. Indira spills the beans of Ranbir shift from Animal to Ramayana In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Indira opened up about witnessing Ranbir's intense preparation and complete transformation into the divine character of Lord Ram. 'That boy has not only worked on his physicality, but the way his eyes talk—it is something else. Lord Ram's shoulders are very strong because he has to carry a bow and arrow so he worked on his shoulders and body. He would work out for 3-4 hours, and would come to sets early by 7 AM. After packing up, he would tell me about different kinds of workouts he would do to transform for the character. The dedication was 200 per cent," Indira said. Indira, who shared screen space with Ranbir in the gritty, violent world of Animal, said the shift in his body language and presence on the Ramayan set was remarkable. 'When I saw him first in Lord Ram's avatar, for a sequence where he's having a sandalwood ceremony, I was stunned. The way he sat, his stance, the calm in his eyes, his face—the ease with which he carried himself—I think it is the plus point of Ramayana. You can see the full contrast between the rowdiness of Animal and Ramayan's divinity. I am the only actor to witness it as an actor. He went into more of a discipline while working on Ramayana. He would stay in character even while talking to people," she added. About Ramayana Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is an ambitious cinematic retelling of the revered Indian epic. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, with Kannada star Yash portraying the formidable Ravana. Planned as a two-part saga, the project promises a visually spectacular and emotionally powerful narrative, blending mythological grandeur with modern storytelling. The first installment is scheduled to release on Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027. With a stellar cast and high production values, Ramayana is poised to become a landmark film.
