RM42 million SK Tambatuon construction project launched in Kota Belud

KOTA BELUD: Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Datuk Ewon Benedick has officially launched the RM42 million construction project for Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tambatuon.
The new buildings, set for completion within 24 months, will replace the existing dilapidated structures and introduce modern facilities.
The project, funded under the Third Rolling Plan of the 12th Malaysia Plan (MP12), includes 10 classrooms, an RBT room, a science laboratory, a canteen, a surau, an administration block, a covered open space, and a field.
Ewon emphasised the importance of timely completion to meet the community's expectations for improved education infrastructure.
'I hope this project goes smoothly and is completed according to the set schedule so that it can benefit the students as villagers have high hopes for better educational facilities,' he said during the ground-breaking ceremony.
As the Kadamaian State Assemblyman and joint chairman of the Intervention Coordination Committee for Monitoring the 13th Malaysia Plan (MP13), Ewon highlighted his role in overseeing federal-funded projects in Sabah.
He assured continued efforts to accelerate development initiatives under MP13, set to run from next year until 2030.
Ewon also acknowledged the contributions of the Ministry of Education, Kota Belud District Education Office, Sabah Public Works Department, and local administrative offices in advancing district development. - Bernama

The project under the Third Rolling Plan of 12th Malaysia Plan (MP12) replaces the existing dilapidated school buildings, and to equip the school with various modern facilities including 10 classrooms, RBT room, science laboratory, canteen, surau, administration block, covered open space and field. 'This is part of our mandate so that all projects can be expedited for the benefit of the people. As the assemblyman for Kadamaian and a member of the federal Cabinet, I will ensure that the needs of large-scale development can be brought to this area in MP13 starting next year until 2030,' he said. According to him, the Kadamaian Development Plan which was launched in 2020 has shown a lot of progress and will continue to be strengthened for the benefit of the local residents. This project, under the Third Rolling Plan of the Twelfth Malaysia Plan (RMK-12 RP3), will replace the existing dilapidated school building and is expected to be completed within 24 months starting this month. 'I hope the project runs smoothly and is completed on schedule so that it can benefit the students and villagers who have high hopes for improved educational facilities,' he said to reporters after officiating the groundbreaking ceremony at the school construction site here today. Ewon, who is also the Kadamaian assemblyman, said that as co-chairman of the RMK-13 Project Monitoring and Coordination Intervention Committee, he is responsible for overseeing the smooth implementation of development projects funded by the Federal Government throughout Sabah. 'This is part of our mandate to ensure all projects are expedited for the benefit of the people. 'As the Kadamaian ADUN and a member of the Federal Cabinet, I will ensure that large-scale development needs are brought to this area under RMK-13, which begins next year and runs until 2030,' he added. Meanwhile, the Deputy District Education Officer (Planning Sector), Ishak Hj. Mohd Yusof, stated that among the facilities to be constructed at SK Tambatuon are 10 classrooms, an RBT room, science laboratory, canteen, prayer room, administration block, covered open space and a field. He also informed that schools in the Kadamaian State Constituency have received significant allocations, including completed projects such as SK Sayap, SK Tarintidon, SK Nahaba, SK Gensurai, SK Tengkurus, SK Taginambur, SK Tuguson and SK Lasau Tintapon. 'Projects currently under construction include SK Kiau 1, SK Tamu Darat, SK Kaung, SK Kebayau, SK Mengkulat, SK Melangkap, SK Tambulian, SK Kelawat and SK Tambatuon. 'Several other projects have been approved and are awaiting tender processes, such as the administration blocks at SK Taginambur and SK Dalas, additional classrooms at SMK Narinang, as well as preschools at SK Tampasuk I, SK Piasau and SK Kinasaraban,' he added. He mentioned that SK Rangalau has also received RM1 million allocation under the Renovation and Upgrading Project managed by the Sabah State Education Department. Furthermore, the Kota Belud PPD is currently applying for the construction of new schools including SMK Narinang II, SMK Arshad II, SMK Pekan III and SMK Pintasan following approval of site applications by the Kota Belud Land and Survey Department.
