The decision to host the pageant in Telangana was announced on February 19 by the Miss World Organisation.
'We are delighted to bring the 72nd Miss World Festival to Telangana, a State that beautifully represents its rich culture, innovation, and hospitality. This collaboration is not just about hosting the Miss World Festival; it's about empowering communities, celebrating diversity, and making a lasting impact through our shared commitment to beauty with a purpose,' said Julia Morley, CEO of the Miss World Organisation.

One of the key highlights in Hyderabad will be a heritage walk through Charminar and Laad Bazaar on May 13, concluding with a welcome dinner at the Chowmahalla Palace. Contestants will also visit AIG Hospitals to gain insights into the city's medical tourism offerings, and tour the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGPICCC) to learn about safety and tourism initiatives.
The competitive rounds begin with the Continental Finale on May 20 and 21 at T-Hub, followed by the Talent Finale at Shilpakala Vedika on May 22. The Top Model Fashion Finale is scheduled for May 24 at either Trident Hotel or Hitex, and the prestigious 'Beauty with a Purpose' event will be held at Hitex on May 26.
The pageant will culminate in a grand finale at Hitex on May 31, where the new Miss World and other title-holders will be crowned. Their journey will conclude with a formal meeting and high tea with the Governor and Chief Minister of Telangana at Raj Bhavan on June 2, coinciding with Telangana State Formation Day.

Manushi Chhillar Serves Gothic Glamour For Shantanu & Nikhil At India Couture Week 2025
Last Updated: Manushi Chhillar made a striking front-row appearance at India Couture Week 2025 in a sheer lace and embellished black ensemble by Shantanu & Nikhil. Manushi Chhillar turned heads at the India Couture Week 2025 in Delhi, serving up high-octane glamour in a look that perfectly embodied Shantanu & Nikhil's dark romantic aesthetic. Dressed in a statement ensemble by the designer duo, the former Miss World looked every bit the modern couture muse, elegant, edgy, and enigmatic. Her outfit was a striking blend of structure and sensuality. The top featured sheer black lace with long sleeves and a high neckline, exuding gothic elegance while offering a bold glimpse of the fitted black bustier worn underneath. The intricate floral lace clung delicately to her frame, balancing mystery with allure. Complementing the top, her high-waisted skirt was a masterclass in texture and embellishment. Crafted from a rich fabric densely embroidered with black sequins, beads, and crystal work, the skirt caught the light with every movement—an opulent contrast to the transparency of the blouse. Manushi's makeup played into the drama of the look with smoky, kohl-rimmed eyes that extended into a soft wing, adding depth and intensity. Her lids shimmered with hints of charcoal and plum, while the rest of her face remained understated nude lips, sculpted cheekbones, and softly highlighted skin gave her that effortless red-carpet polish. It was a makeup moment that didn't just complement the outfit it amplified it. Her hair was styled in a chic, low bun with soft tendrils framing her face, creating a romantic-meets-sultry vibe. The middle-parted tendrils brought softness to the bold look and let her statement eyes take center stage. The hairstyle allowed the high-neck lace detailing of her top to remain visible and uncluttered, reinforcing the ensemble's clean yet theatrical finish. Holding her phone for a mirror selfie, Manushi looked confident, composed, and in complete control of her style narrative. Captioned 'Delhi nights with @shantanunikhil," the image captured the mood of the night couture with character, beauty with boldness. This appearance wasn't just about wearing couture it was about embodying the fierce, feminine energy that Shantanu & Nikhil are known for. view comments First Published: July 28, 2025, 08:03 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. ‘Typecasting In Films Is Both Praise And A Hurdle': Manushi Chhillar
Last Updated: Maalik starrer Manushi Chillar emphasised the importance of working with directors who are unafraid to experiment with casting. Manushi Chhillar, who recently starred in Rajkummar Rao's action thriller Maalik, opened up about one of the most common challenges actors face in the industry and that is being typecast. After making her debut with Samrat Prithviraj and continuing to land action-packed roles, the actress is now actively working to break free from the character mould and explore a broader range of roles. In a recent interview with Zoom, the Bade Miyan Chote Miyan actress said that being typecast is a double-edged sword. She shared, 'Typecasting is a reality that every actor inevitably confronts at some stage, particularly following a breakout performance. I view it as both a form of praise and a hurdle; it signifies that you portrayed something so convincingly that audiences link you to it." Manushi Chillar On Working With Visionary Filmmakers She also emphasised the importance of working with directors who are unafraid to experiment with casting. According to her, such collaborations not only give actors the chance to break out of repetitive roles but also add fresh storytelling perspectives to cinema. Manushi added, 'However, I also think that genuine artistry is rooted in adaptability. To prevent being confined, one must actively pursue roles that challenge them. The only way to break free from this cycle is to work with directors who possess a distinct vision and are willing to reimagine casting. After all, directors are the creative minds behind the films." Manushi Chillar in Maalik In Maalik, Manushi Chhillar brought a different version of herself to the screen. Directed by Pulkit, the film blends high-octane action with emotionally charged storytelling. In the film, Manushi played the role of Rajkumar Rao's character's wife. Set in late 1980s Allahabad, Maalik follows Deepak (Rajkummar Rao), a farmer's son who turns into a feared gangster after avenging his father's assault. As he builds his criminal empire, his wife Shalini (Manushi Chhillar) stands as his moral compass, urging him to leave the violent world, especially after her pregnancy. Manushi Chillar's Workslate Manushi first made headlines after winning the Miss World title in 2017. She later made her Bollywood debut in Chandraprakash Dwivedi's Samrat Prithviraj, opposite Akshay Kumar.
