Owner Alan Cathro is retiring after decades of service in the town, the Press and Journal reports.
It means that the popular jewellers and gift shop will close after 78 years.
The third generation family business was founded in Glasgow in 1947 and specialise in Scottish jewellery and gifts.
In 1966, it relocated to Oban where it has stayed ever since.
The store offers products from sometimes the smallest of workshops with designs taken from the Highlands and Islands.
Along with its own exclusive Iona Marble Collection, the store is also the only mainland shop that stocks Ola Gorie jewellery as well as Keith Jack jewellery.
It is a beloved store and a favourite with both locals and tourists.
It's understood that the shop will close down in August.
A 20 per cent off retirement sale has been launched by Mr Cathro, giving loyal customers the chance to pick up a bargain before the shop shuts for good.
Earlier this year, family-owned Beaverbrooks, which runs 89 jewellers across the United Kingdom, announced it was closing two Scottish branches.

The brand, which was established in 1919, is renowned for its diamonds, rings, and luxury watches.
But the shutters were pulled down on its Dundee and East Kilbride shops in March.
And bosses of a beloved family jewellers said they have been left with a "heavy heart" after revealing they will close after 71 years in business.
Victor and Sons, in Blairgowrie, is run by brothers Richard, 79, and George Kusza, 64, also shut down in March.

Glasgow Airport staff get bonuses for spotting easyJet oversize bags

The payments, which are made directly to employees, are to 'reward agents doing the right thing', according to an email sent to staff which explained the 'easyJet gate bag revenue incentive' scheme. For staff concerned about meeting targets, 'internal tracking will be used to identify opportunities for further support and training for individual agents, but will not be used negatively', it said. READ MORE: Scottish airport announces 100ml liquids restriction lifted for first time Swissport employs people in the Channel Islands, including Glasgow, Birmingham, Jersey and Newcastle. Ground handlers earn around £12 an hour, with one former Swissport passenger service manager telling the Sunday Times they had no choice but to police the line on oversized baggage. 'Confronting people with excess baggage is like taking on fare dodgers,' he said. 'You risk abuse or worse – imagine stopping a group of lads on a stag weekend and telling them I'm going to have to charge you more than you paid for your tickets to check those bags into the hold.' EasyJet allows passengers to take a small bag that fits under their seat for free and larger bags can be stored in overhead lockers for an additional fee. However, if an oversized cabin bag is confiscated at an airport's gate, the passenger is charged £48 to stow it in the hold. Swissport said: 'We serve our airline customers and apply their policies under terms and conditions for managing their operation. We're highly professional and our focus is on delivering safe and efficient operations, which we do day in and day out for 4m flights per year.'

M&S makes major change to food ranges in bid to take on rival supermarkets

Plus, the latest update on online orders as the fallout from the cyber attack on the supermarket continues TROLLEY DASH M&S makes major change to food ranges in bid to take on rival supermarkets Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) M&S is introducing major changes to its food ranges as it aims to take on rival supermarkets. The high street retailer is increasing the number of products sold in larger family packs, as it tries to encourage more people to do their weekly shop at the supermarket. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 M&S wants to become a 'shopping list retailer' to take on rival supermarkets 3 A family-pack of avocados is part of the expansion of the M&S 'Bigger Pack, Better Value' range 3 The retailer has also launched own-brand medicines such as ibuprofen Its "Bigger Pack, Better Value" range is being expanded by a third to more than 100 lines. Items now available in bigger sizes include a four-pack of Eat Now Eat Later Hass Avocados for £3.50, 12 Free Range British Eggs for £3.20, and a larger size Double Cream (600ml) for £2.65. M&S is also expanding its household essentials range, including the launch of its first own-brand medicines. Shoppers can now pick up M&S-label medication including paracetamol, ibuprofen, allergy tablets and children's liquid paracetamol in stores. Eight new baby food lines, including baby milk, have also hit shelves, as well as new five-in-one washing pods available in both bio and non-bio. It's the latest attempt by the supermarket to rival competitors such as Sainsbury's and Tesco by becoming a "shopping list retailer" - a move away from its long-standing reputation as a luxury food store. Earlier this year, the retailer launched family-sized pasta sauces and toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner. It also upgraded its own-brand washing up liquid to double the number of plates per wash. M&S Food managing director Alex Freudmann said: 'When we talk about being a shopping list retailer, it means that customers can trust us to have what they need when they come shopping, in the right size and at the right price. "As we always say at M&S, there's still lots of opportunity to go further and really cement M&S as the destination for families to get everything they need, at the quality you can only get from M&S.' It comes after the business was hit by one of the worst high street cyber attacks in years in April, forcing it to suspend online orders and leading to major issues with Click and Collect, gift vouchers and its supply chain. I tried the new picnic range from M&S - the £3.50 dip everyone needs to try Meal deals were unavailable in some stores and others were out of staples such as bananas. Its chief executive Stuart Machin last week confirmed that half of the retailer's online services had been restored, but some services like click and collect and next-day delivery are still unavailable. Some products, such as Colin the Caterpillar cakes, are also not available online. "Within the next four weeks we are hoping for the whole of online to be fully on," he said at the company's annual general meeting. M&S previously said it expected the disruption to continue into July. However, shoppers were informed on June 10 that the retailer was bringing back its online shopping, starting with its fashion ranges. Later in June, it reintroduced orders from some of its third-party brands including Asics, New Balance and Adidas. It also reduced its standard home delivery wait times from 10 days to five for customers in England, Scotland and Wales. Meanwhile, Sainsbury's said it had seen a boost in sales partly thanks to the M&S cyber attack, with the supermarket reporting that grocery sales had jumped by 5% in the 16 weeks to June 21. 'If a store is low on stock, customers will go somewhere nearby. We've had a little bit of benefit," Sainsbury's boss Simon Roberts said. Hacking group DragonForce is believed to have been behind the crippling cyber attack, and is said to have emailed several key M&S executives calling for ransom money. The attack is thought to have cost the business £300million, but M&S has said the "gross costs" will likely be less because of insurance and the retailer's own savings. The shoe shop last reported a pre-tax profit when it posted a total of £35.9m for the 48 weeks to the end of 2022. Clarks closed almost a dozen stores in 2024, including its stores at the Saddlers Shopping Centre in Walsall and the Grove Shopping Centre, Witham. In 2023, the retailer closed seven stores, with shoppers describing the losses as a "terrible shame".
