The former president is standing trial for allegedly leading a coup attempt after losing the 2022 election.
The court's Justice Alexandre de Moraes issued the order, saying in his decision that Bolsonaro had violated the precautionary measures imposed on him by posting content on his son's social media channels.

Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans said the Netherlands "is now taking the lead" in supplying military equipment to Ukraine under the new scheme. "By supporting Ukraine with determination, we are increasing the pressure on Russia to negotiate," Brekelmans said on X. Brekelmans warned that Russia's advance into Ukrainian territory could pose a broader threat to Europe. "The more Russia dominates Ukraine, the greater the danger to the Netherlands and our NATO allies," he said. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof for the contribution. "This will definitely help protect the lives of our people!" Zelenskyy said. US Presidnet Donald Trump and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte announced the so-called Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) scheme last month. Trump had threatened to cut military support for Ukraine, amid pressure within his Republican Party. He later agreed to continue supplying Ukraine with arms, under the condition that other NATO allies bare the costs. Trump did not provide further information on how exactly the new mechanism would work. But NATO said it would coordinate the delivery of the packages and ensure that they fit Ukraine's needs.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with his security cabinet to discuss intensifying military operations in Gaza. He reaffirmed goals including defeating Hamas, securing hostage release and eliminating future threats from Gaza. Israeli media reports suggest Netanyahu may push to seize the entire will partially reopen entry of goods for trade in Gaza through local vendors to decrease its dependence on humanitarian aid, the agency under Israeli military that oversees civil affairs in the Palestinian territories said Tuesday. "As part of formulating the mechanism, a limited number of local merchants were approved by the defence establishment, subject to several criteria and strict security screening," the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) said. "This aims to increase the volume of aid entering the Gaza Strip, while reducing reliance on aid collection by the UN and international organizations," the agency said. Palestinian and UN officials said Gaza needs around 600 aid trucks to enter per day to meet the humanitarian requirements, the number Israel used to allow into Gaza before the war. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that he will convene a security cabinet meeting to update his war plans and instruct the military on how to achieve his objectives in Gaza. Brazilian Judge Places Ex-president Bolsonaro Under House Arrest
A Brazilian judge on Monday placed former president Jair Bolsonaro under house arrest for breaking a social media ban, escalating a dramatic standoff between the court and the far-right politician accused of plotting a coup. Bolsonaro, an ally of US President Donald Trump, is on trial at the Supreme Court for allegedly plotting to cling onto power after losing 2022 elections to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Last month, he was ordered to wear an ankle bracelet and barred from using social media after being accused of trying to disrupt the trial with fiery speeches shared online by his sons and allies. Under the ban, third parties are barred from sharing his public remarks. On Sunday, allies of Bolsonaro, 70, defied the court order by broadcasting a live call between the former army captain and his son at a solidarity rally in Rio de Janeiro, one of several held across Brazil. He also barred the country's former leader (2019-2022) from receiving visitors, apart from his lawyers, and from using any mobile phones. Last week, Trump already imposed massive tariffs on Brazil and sanctioned Moraes for what he termed his "witch hunt" against Bolsonaro. Trump's pressure campaign, including 50-percent tariffs on a raft of Brazilian goods, including coffee, has endeared him to Bolsonaro's conservative base. At Sunday's rallies, some demonstrators waved US flags or held signs reading "Thank you Trump." Bolsonaro himself did not attend the rallies, having been ordered by the Supreme Court to stay home at night and at weekends throughout the trial. He faces a heavy prison sentence in the trial, which is expected to be concluded in the coming weeks. The crusading Moraes has become a figure of hate on the Brazilian and American right for taking the fight to the far right. He has repeatedly clashed with Bolsonaro as well as X owner Elon Musk, whom he accuses of failing to fight disinformation.
