
2025 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Review: Ironing Out The Bumps
Delhi: Hunter 350 breathed life into the sales for Royal Enfield. Launched in 2022, the Hunter 350 seemed to have found a good set of buyers, thanks to its affordability, compact dimensions and peppy looks. While Hunter is built on the J-Series platform like Classic and Bullet, it somehow didn't catch my fancy. The suspension and the handling of Hunter, somehow, fell short of my expectations.
Straight to 2025, Royal Enfield addressed the elephant in the room, fixing the core issues of the Hunter. The rear, twin-coil springs are reworked, and the difference is instantly visible. The compression and rebound are more predictable, and overall, the riding feels way less jolting to the wrists, limbs, and joints. The ride, compared to the previous iteration, is a marked difference. The intention is to make it friendlier, more predictable, and supple over the undulations. The rear suspension does a good job of soaking up bad roads, however, comparing it with the Bullet or Classic will be unwise.
The 349-cc, J-Series, air-cooled engine is carried forward, which generates 20 horsepower and 27 Nm of peak torque. The sweet spot of the highways lies between 80 and 90 kmph. The exhaust is loud and throaty; presumably the best among 350-cc Royal Enfield offerings. The revised clutch gets a slip-and-assist feature. Pottering through cities, where stop-go traffic makes life difficult, the lighter clutch makes life easier. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, which is quite clunky to operate.

Hunter 350 and city commutes are like fish to water. The footprint is compact, the seat is narrow, and the rider sits upright. The handling, compared to before, also feels more direct, thanks to the change in suspension tuning. The exhaust route is different now, which results in 160 mm ground clearance - an increase of 10 mm. The seat, the brand says, has new foam and cushion. During my 400-kilometre city ride, I didn't feel much difference. The perch is cushy and well-padded. The Hunter 350 offered a mileage of around 37.5 kmpl in city traffic.
Royal Enfield has done a few cosmetic changes as well. It now gets an LED light set up. The throw at night is average. Hunter 350 gets a few new colour options, a USB-C type fast charger, and tripper navigation. However, most of these features are limited to the top-end variant, which costs around Rs 1.82 lakh (ex-showroom), marking a jump of Rs 7,000. The entry-level Hunter 350, which has a single-channel ABS, continues to retail at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy has directed the Transport Commissioner to take strict action against autorickshaws in Bengaluru, including those operating via mobile apps, for charging passengers more than the government-fixed fares. 2,536 new buses to be inducted into RTC fleet for women's free travel scheme in Andhra Pradesh
Vijayawada: As many as 2,536 additional buses would be inducted into the existing fleet of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) to implement the free bus travel scheme for women. Officials of the state-run corporation submitted the estimates on the scheme to chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday. APSRTC has not included new buses in its fleet for a long time, and there will be an additional requirement of buses as the passenger rush is likely to increase once the scheme is implemented. Officials estimate that an amount of Rs 996 crore is required to induct new buses. They also explained the need to improve other facilities like drinking water, sanitation, bus information systems, and other amenities at bus stations. In a review meeting on the free bus scheme with the CM, officials said they estimate the number of journeys by women is likely to increase by about 78% after the scheme is rolled out. The total number of trips by women is likely to increase from 49.91 crore to 88.90 crore trips annually. Naidu suggested officials to go for new buses or take buses on rental basis if required. Lorry carrying luxury cars catch fire near Poigai, Tamil Nadu; driver escape unharmed
ANI 29 Jun 2025, 01:24 GMT+10 Vellore (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 28 (ANI): A container lorry transporting luxury cars worth Rs 3.6 crore caught fire near Poigai village in Tamil Nadu's Vellore district on Friday, causing a temporary disruption along the busy Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway, police said. The lorry, carrying two high-end luxury cars valued at Rs 1.8 crore each, was en route from Chennai Port to Bengaluru when the incident occurred. The driver, identified as a 20-year-old Akash from Uttar Pradesh, reportedly swerved the vehicle to avoid an oncoming two-wheeler, causing the lorry to veer off and come to rest in an empty roadside area. The vehicle remained parked under overhead power lines for an extended period. According to preliminary investigations, strong winds may have caused the wires to scrape, triggering an electric surge. This surge is believed to have led to an explosion in the diesel tank, igniting a fire that engulfed the front section of the lorry. Upon receiving the alert, officers from Virinjipuram Police Station quickly notified the Vellore District Fire and Rescue Services. Firefighters arrived promptly and battled the flames for over an hour before successfully bringing the blaze under control. While the front of the lorry was completely destroyed in the fire, the container section housing the cars remained intact. No injuries were reported, and the luxury vehicles were not damaged. (ANI)
