‘Iron Man' actress Gwyneth Paltrow is all about clean eating, but still prefers a ‘Little Pasta'

is all about the 'clean eating' lifestyle and has been following the 'paleo' diet system for the last 2 years extensively; however, recently she dumped the whole concept. Citing that she was getting sick of it, the actress has now eased certain restrictions from her diet plan.

, had been following. On one of her recent episodes on the actress' '
Goop Podcast
', she got candid and shared how she is incorporating a little bit of pasta, bread, and cheese into her diet again.
The 'Avengers' actress noted that while both she and her husband had opted to follow the
paleo diet
, she had now grown "a little sick of it".
Paltrow
claimed that she had remained strict about what she could or could not have and that now she has decided to get back to pasta and "sourdough bread and cheese'.
Paltrow's relationship with food
The actress also shared insights about her relationship with food altogether on the podcast episode. She shared that "I went into hardcore macrobiotics for a certain time. That was an interesting chapter where I got kind of obsessed with eating very, very healthily." She continued, citing that her father became one of the reasons to follow a healthier diet. She said, "I think that I was trying to heal my dad by proxy, and he just didn't really want anything to do with it."
Talking about her obsession with healthy food, she cited, 'I think I was just so amazed that, you know, we had this power in our hands, you know, that if we treated ourselves well and hydrated and ate whole foods, we could just feel so much better. I was sort of intoxicated by that idea, and I still feel that way to this day.'
What is the paleo diet?
Paleo dieting inherently refers to avoiding processed food items. It refers to going back to the prehistoric diet, i.e., eating what humans must've eaten during the Palaeolithic Era, as cited by the Mayo Clinic. In the current day and age, this diet consists of eating non-processed food items and also incorporating fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, eggs, nuts, and seeds only in the diet plan.
