British Grand Prix 2025 Qualifying: Max Verstappen beats Britons Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton to grab pole
The Britons dominated the first two free practice sessions on Friday, but it was Dutch driver Max Verstappen who clinched pole position in the British Grand Prix 2025 Qualifying session on Saturday.
He will be joined on the front row by this season's leading driver, Oscar Piastri, who qualified second. His teammate, Lando Norris, starts close behind in third and remains one of the favorites to win his home race at the Silverstone Circuit.
British F1 Grand Prix Qualifying results
Max Verstappen's pole at Silverstone came as a surprise, as the Red Bull driver had failed to impress during any of the practice sessions. This marks his fourth pole of the season.
He has won two races so far and has now set the tone for the British GP final on Sunday.
Interestingly, Mercedes driver George Russell, who also struggled during the practice sessions, managed to secure fourth place on the grid. Like Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton, this Briton is now considered a strong contender for the podium at Silverstone.
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton made a strong start to his home weekend by topping the first free practice session (FP1) on Friday, but he ultimately qualified fifth.

His teammate, Charles Leclerc, who had won FP3 earlier in the day, will start sixth.
Rookies Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes and Oliver Bearman of Haas secured the seventh and eighth spots on the grid, respectively. They are followed by Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso in ninth and Alpine's Pierre Gasly in tenth.
There is some bad news for both of them as Antonelli has a three-place grid drop for hitting Verstappen during the Austrian Grand Prix and Bearman has been given a 10-place grid penalty for a red flag infringement in FP3.
Alpine's Franco Colapinto, however, couldn't finish the session after crashing into the chicane. His car spun out of control and ended up crashing into the barrier amid a large cloud of dust, forcing him to retire.

Take your learner's driving licence test from home in Gujarat
Ahmedabad: The faceless system that enables people to appear for learner's driving licence test from the comfort of their homes or offices will be implemented in Gujarat from Monday. State govt transport department officials said that applicants with an Aadhaar card linked to their mobile numbers will not need to visit regional transport offices or authorised centres for the online test. The move comes after extensive testing, officials said. The current system of going to polytechnics or ITIs will continue. Officials stated that the RTO will currently continue to conduct the test at the centres. However, it may later discontinue this depending on the number of people who prefer to take the test in person. Officials stated that biometrics, specifically face recognition, will be conducted using Aadhaar card data. The system will not capture voice, so answers dictated to the system will not be detected, said officials. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like People Aged 50-85 With No Life Insurance Could Get This Reassured Get Quote Undo Officials noted that in 2024, the govt brought down the pass limit. Earlier, a candidate was required to answer 11 questions out of 15 correctly. Now, correct answers to nine questions are enough to clear the test. According to officials, 19 states have already implemented the system, but Gujarat was testing the system to ensure it was foolproof. Officials said the system was to be implemented from Jan this year, but the officials delayed the implementation. They further mentioned that the move will reduce the rush at RTOs, polytechnics, and ITIs, said senior officials. "Before appearing for the test, candidates will have to watch online videos on road safety. Those correctly answering 60% of the questions can print a learner's licence on their own," the official explained. Those failing can attempt the test again in a similar manner following the rules. The officials said that once the applicant verifies their Aadhaar, their details, including name, address, and date of birth, will be fetched if added, and then they will have to fill in the remaining details. However, for faceless applications, submissions will have to be made under the section 'Submit via Aadhaar Authentication'.

EA Sports has officially kicked off the Ragnarok: Mighty Winter phase in FC Mobile with a powerful start, revealing the Week 1 promo cards during a livestream hosted by developers "Antwan" and "Tak" on the game's official YouTube channel. The first look at the promo cards can come as a surprise to the community, not because of who's missing from the event, but because the main featured promo image displays only Icons and Heroes, completely leaving out the live players who are also part of this phase. This article lists all cards, ranging from 108 to 111, that feature in the first promo of EA FC Mobile Ragnarok: Mighty Winter. All Featured promo cards of EA FC Mobile Ragnarok Mighty Winter Week 1 The promotional image shown in the livestream includes 8 Icons and 3 Heroes, featuring some of football's most legendary names in history. All eleven cards featured are non-live, setting a serious tone for how special this event's upper tier is going to be. While the image might suggest otherwise, live players are very much part of the Ragnarok Week 1 release. However, EA Sports has chosen to spotlight only the Icons and Heroes in the featured artwork, perhaps to build anticipation around the high-tier cards and give the event a legendary, Norse-inspired tone. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like local network access control Expertinspector Learn More Undo Expect live players to appear in event chapters and offer more balanced or grindable routes for free-to-play users, while the featured icons and heroes could dominate premium packs and milestone rewards.
