Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 18 - Keith Erickson (1965-66)
Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego.
To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the seventh of 16 players who wore the No. 18 jersey for the Warriors.
That player would be Golden State forward alum Keith Erickson. After ending his college career at UCLA, Erickson was picked up with the 21st overall selection of the 1965 NBA draft by the (then) San Francisco (now, Golden State) Warriors.
The San Francisco, California native played his first season in the league with the Dubs, coming to an end when he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1966 NBA expansion draft.
During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Erickson wore only jersey No. 18 and put up 3.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo creates interesting contract situation for Knicks wing
There haven't been any real rumors about Giannis Antetokounmpo wanting to leave the Milwaukee Bucks. However, when recently speaking on a live stream with streamer IShowSpeed, Antetokounmpo noted that many want him to play for the New York Knicks. Knicks fans continue to run with that, despite any lack of evidence suggesting that he doesn't want to play for Milwaukee any longer. Advertisement It's never fair to say never, given where the NBA stands. Still, it seems very unlikely that Antetokounmpo will play for another team anytime soon. Despite that, Dan Favale recently looked at the situation regarding the Knicks and Antetokounmpo, adding that there could be some interesting scenarios New York has to consider if it believes it has a real opportunity to land the two-time MVP. 'The Knicks are reportedly still hoping to win the Giannis trade sweepstakes, if and when they begin. His recent noncommittal assessment of the future will not do anything to diminish that hope. In the event he does become available, Bridges could be an integral part of talks. New York currently doesn't have any first-round picks to offer, and the Bucks will likely value anyone who keeps them competitive in the post-Giannis era, since they don't control the rights to their own first-rounder until 2031. Advertisement 'Signing Bridges to a new deal now removes him from the table. Players who sign his type of extension cannot be traded for six months,' he wrote. MORE: Knicks' Mikal Bridges contract situation gets interesting Giannis Antetokounmpo twist The Mikal Bridges extension is certainly one to watch out for, as the Knicks don't have much of a reason not to offer him a deal, given what they gave up for him. However, as he touched on, if they truly believe they have a chance to land Antetokounmpo, there wouldn't be much of a reason to give him a contract now, given he wouldn't be able to be traded for six months.

Victor Wembanyama Cleared to Play After Season-Ending Blood Clots
San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has been fully cleared and expects to play next season after dealing with deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder for the last few months, he told the French newspaper L'Equipe in remarks published Monday. "I'm officially cleared to return. … I'll finally be able to play a bit of basketball again," Wembanyama told the French sports daily. There was no immediate comment from the Spurs on the report. It has been expected that the team anticipated Wembanyama would be able to start this coming season, though there was no official word until now. Wembanyama was the league's rookie of the year two years ago, and Spurs guard Stephon Castle won that same trophy this past season. Wembanyama was the front-runner to be defensive player of the year last season when he was diagnosed with the blood clot in his right shoulder in February. He was averaging 24.3 points, 11 rebounds, 3.8 blocks and 3.7 assists when he was shut down; the only other player in NBA history to finish a season averaging all that was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975-76. Wembanyama has traveled extensively in recent months and spent time last month at a Shaolin temple in Zhengzhou, China. The temple is a place that welcomes visitors who wish to study Chan meditation, Shaolin Kung Fu, traditional Chinese medicine and more. Reporting by The Associated Press. The condition was discovered when Wembanyama returned to San Antonio following the All-Star Game in San Francisco. Wembanyama is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 regular season. The team will provide updates as appropriate.' The Spurs were 34-48 last season and drafted Dylan Harper with the No. 2 pick and Carter Bryant with the No. 14 pick in the 2025 draft. They also acquired De'Aaron Fox from Sacramento at the trade deadline in February and are looking to make a jump in the Western Conference standings with Mitch Johnson taking over as coach, Johnson replaces Hall of Famer Gregg Popovich who stepped down in May amid health problems.
