MAHB launches upgraded Airport FastTrack service at KLIA
MAHB managing director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani said the initiative aligns with its broader strategy to position KLIA as a leading global aviation hub with world-class facilities and services.
'Our upgraded AFT service now offers a holistic meet-and-greet experience, ensuring passengers receive personalised assistance from the moment they arrive.
'From curbside reception to expedited immigration clearance and baggage assistance, every touchpoint has been meticulously designed to deliver comfort and efficiency,' he said in his speech at the launch of AFT Evolution here today.
Mohd Izani said the airport has also provided a guest centre and AFT@Connect at Departure Level 5 for the convenience and satisfaction of passengers.
In line with its digitalisation efforts, he said the company has launched a new website—www.myairportfasttrack.com—to provide detailed information on its services and enable easy bookings.
'This platform reflects our drive to leverage technology in enhancing service delivery and passenger convenience, with an integrated payment gateway ensuring a smooth and secure experience for all users,' he said.
During the event, Mohd Izani also introduced the company's new brand ambassador, Sofia Zara Mustaffa Kamal, Malaysia's youngest female race car driver, who is just 15 years old.
Sofia, recognised in the Malaysia Book of Records, is currently competing in the 2025 F1 Academy circuit, an elite junior series for female single-seater racing talent.

AFT KLIA, which is operated by KL Airport Hotels Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of MAHB, was introduced as a premium service to redefine the airport experience for travellers.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 — Leaders of state governments have described Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's announcement of several initiatives today as proof of the continued concern and commitment of the Madani Government in assisting to ease the people's burden. In NEGERI SEMBILAN, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the initiatives announced, including the one-time provision of RM100 under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme and petrol price reduction, are a good start and can ease the people's burden. 'Such announcements give meaning to the people... for those in need, it is a very meaningful gift and can help them in their daily lives,' he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting in Seremban today. Aminuddin, who is also the Port Dickson Member of Parliament, said the state government welcomed the good news and is confident it can encourage the people to continue to be positive in facing daily life challenges. He added that the government's decision to multiply the Madani Rahmah Sales and double the allocation for the programme to RM600 million was also the best initiative that will significantly benefit the people. In MELAKA, the state government will plan tourism activities for visitors in conjunction with the additional public holiday on Sept 15 to further invigorate the tourism sector in the state as part of its new industry, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusof. 'I will make this tourism sector a new industry in Melaka… it will have all kinds (of tourism activities in Melaka), covering air, land and sea,' he told reporters outside the State Legislative Assembly sitting today. In SELANGOR, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari described the announcement of the one-off RM100 aid through MyKad under SARA as proof of the Madani Government's care and concern towards the people's plight. He said that with 22 million Malaysians set to benefit from the total allocation of RM2 billion via SARA, it will help propel the economic cycle forward through the expected spending or purchase transactions. 'Although some consider the RM100 as too little, the actual value that needs to be seen is the RM2 billion that has been allocated because how much of that amount will move and enter the economic chain and value through spending by the people. 'Besides helping to ease the financial burden of recipients, the benefits through economic movement of the cash-out proceeds given in a targeted manner by the government will also provide returns and benefits of their own to traders and small entrepreneurs,' he said. In PENANG, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the provision of the one-off RM100 assistance under SARA is highly appreciated because the Federal Government can still implement it despite being under tight fiscal constraints. In welcoming the announcement, Chow said the prime minister should also be given the time and space to face domestic and global economic pressures, including the United States (US) tariff situation, which can impact Malaysia's exports. 'Despite the tight financial situation, this incentive, which will cost the government billions (or ringgit), is still appreciated. However, I believe the people are looking forward to more comprehensive forms of assistance, such as initiatives that ease the cost of doing business, or through infrastructure projects that create jobs and spur growth,' he said. In PERLIS, Menteri Besar Perlis Mohd Shukri Ramli said any action that can give profit to the people and ease their burden is a good thing, and we want to thank the prime minister, who continues to strive to help the people face the challenges of rising cost of living. 'The announcement made by the prime minister is a good move… I will also get the one-off RM100 provided via SARA for the adult group, so thank you,' he told reporters after chairing the executive council meeting at Seri Putra Complex in Kangar today. He added that the announcement of Sept 15 as an additional public holiday, meanwhile, would allow the people to plan their holidays to celebrate Malaysia Day on Sept 16. In KEDAH, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor also welcomed the announcement on the RON95 petrol price reduction and one-off RM100 payment to all Malaysians aged 18 and above. Abang Johari: Sarawak charts own path in energy with statewide piped gas plan backed by Petros
BINTULU, July 23 — Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg has reaffirmed the Sarawak government's strong commitment to expanding piped gas infrastructure to every household in the state – a move aimed at enhancing energy accessibility and economic equity. Speaking to reporters after launching the piped natural gas supply to homes in Sungai Plan here today, Abang Johari said the initiative is part of a long-term master plan to ensure Sarawakians benefit directly from the state's own gas resources. 'This is just the beginning of our effort to supply gas to our people so they can enjoy the benefits of the gas extracted in our own backyard,' he said. He cited a successful pilot project in the Quadruplex Taman Ceria (QTC) housing area in Miri, where residents have seen savings of up to 40 per cent or around RM40 monthly after switching from gas cylinders to piped delivery. Determined to extend these benefits across Sarawak, the premier unveiled the Sarawak Gas Roadmap, which outlines a statewide piped gas distribution system. 'We are developing a network of gas distribution hubs throughout Sarawak in Bintulu, Kuching, Miri, and possibly Sibu from where piped gas can be channelled to surrounding areas, even reaching remote towns like Kapit,' he said. According to him, the concept of piped gas is not new to Sarawak, citing earlier systems in Lutong, Sarawak and Seria, Brunei, that predate the formation of Malaysia. Abang Johari emphasised that Sarawak's legal framework, particularly the Sarawak Gas Distribution Ordinance, remains intact and continues to empower the state to regulate and manage its own gas sector. Under this framework, Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) has been formally appointed the sole gas aggregator for Sarawak, with full authority to manage supply from upstream to end users. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for endorsing this via a joint declaration between the federal and state governments, which enabled Petros to operate as the sole legal and operational aggregator. 'All companies involved in the gas business must comply with our existing laws. This is a people-centric project, and through the hub-and-spoke model, it will benefit not just urban dwellers but rural communities as well,' he said. The roadmap, he added, will offer tiered benefits across various user groups – residential homes, SMEs, and heavy industries such as methanol production – with rates based on consumption levels. 'The greatest impact will be on ordinary Sarawakians, especially B40 households and those with lower incomes, by easing their cost of living,' he said. Abang Johari also welcomed the federal government's latest cost-of-living measures announced today, including fuel price reductions and other incentives. 'PMX announced his support, and we too are helping our people. Thank you for the initiatives. It shows that the people of Sarawak benefit both from Kuala Lumpur and from Petra Jaya, Kuching,' he said. Domestic Trade Ministry to expand digital monitoring to ensure 60,000 tonnes of subsidised cooking oil reach target groups, says Armizan
KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 — Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali today said the ministry is prioritising efforts to ensure the effective distribution of 60,000 metric tonnes of subsidised cooking oil each month reaches its intended recipients without leakage, before considering alternative subsidy mechanisms such as cash transfers under the SARA programme. He explained that the ministry began implementing its digital monitoring system in 2023 to track the movement of subsidised oil from packaging plants to retailers. However, the current system does not yet monitor purchases at the consumer level. 'To address this, KPDN will expand the system starting in 2025 through the rollout of eCOSS mobile application, currently being piloted under the Rahmah Sales Programme. 'This app will be integrated with data from the National Registration Department (JPN) to identify legitimate buyers and prevent purchases by ineligible groups, such as foreign nationals,' he said during the debate on the Auditor-General's Report in Parliament today. The ministry said the system will enable the government to collect detailed data on who is buying the subsidised oil, where it is being bought, and in what quantity, allowing for more accurate assessment of subsidy beneficiaries and better targeted policies. He said the government previously had no clear data on who was actually using the subsidised packet cooking oil, but with the eCOSS system and new mobile app, it will soon be able to identify subsidy recipients more accurately. In response to Pulai MP Suhaizan Kayat, the minister said that although 3.16 million households need only around 20,000 tonnes of cooking oil monthly, the 60,000-tonne allocation also covers small traders, restaurants, school canteens, hostels, and care centres. 'The original 2016 estimate of 40,000 metric tonnes, based on 1.5kg per capita, was later revised to 60,000 metric tonnes to accommodate these broader usage patterns. 'It was also noted that in 2022, even the then prime minister (Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob) acknowledged that enforcement should not be taken against small food vendors using subsidised oil,' he explained. This, he said, reflects how the programme has expanded beyond household use in practice. He then said KPDN remains committed to curbing leakage, preventing misuse and smuggling, and ensuring that subsidies reach the people who truly need them.
