We covered before how on March 22 eight 2025 Corvettes were stolen from Bowling Green Assembly, but now we have police bodycam footage of one suspect being arrested. Police were able to recover Corvettes taken from the factory, but it seems the other suspects have gotten away, for now. That bodycam footage, which was just released by Bowling Green Police Department on April 8, shows an officer chase the suspect, 21-year-old Deantae Walker as he ran away in a Lowe's parking lot.
Walker and some other men called a car transport service to have a 2017 Corvette shipped to the Detroit area. However, when the driver showed up at the Low's parking lot, he found the men were waiting with three brand new C8 Corvettes.
Thinking it was weird, the guy still started loading the sports cars. The men began pressuring him to work faster, and that coupled with undercarriage damage on one of the vehicles prompted the driver to reach out to police.
When officers arrived, Walker started running through the parking lot, calling out to another man in a Jeep with Ohio license plates. His friend seemed to have ditched him as Walker was chased down, handcuffed, and arrested.
Cops not only were able to recover the three stolen C8 Corvettes being loaded for transport, they found the other five the same day in two other locations. Sadly, we know those sports cars won't be delivered to customers and might even end up as scrap, all thanks to their being stolen.
Walker's fate remains to be seen. We hope his accomplices are also caught before they can do another auto factory heist.

Georgia Trooper Smacks Down A Street Takeover Lexus

Read the full story on The Auto Wire Watching cops chase down street takeover suspects is always so satisfying, like this Georgia trooper taking down a fleeing Lexus IS 300. After all, these guys shut down busy intersections like they own the city, snarl up traffic while doing all kinds of damage, all so their buddies can record videos for TikTok and Instagram. Read our guide to the best automotive photography accessories you can you get on Amazon here. When the trooper first happens upon the takeover in Atlanta, he encounters pedestrians standing in the intersection, as well as the Lexus ripping a smokey donut. Those people on foot smartly jump out of the way. But as the trooper starts chasing the fleeing IS 300, one pedestrian makes like he's going to jump in front of the patrol car. We can imagine he was trying to help out his buddy, but the guy apparently doesn't know that could come with serious criminal charges, not to mention he might get run over. Needless to say, even as far as takeover crowds come, these kids aren't the brightest crayons in the box. That's evident as the driver thinks his little Lexus can outrun a Dodge Charger with a Hemi. Then again, the street takeover crowd tries to act like car enthusiasts, but we've found they know little about cars. If they did and valued them, they wouldn't be trashing their rides for cheap thrills. Maybe this guy thought his experience doing tricks in intersections would make him a better driver than a member of Georgia State Patrol. But the trooper keeps up no problem. In fact, we're pretty sure he doesn't have to push his cruiser all that hard. But it's apparent the suspect is planting his foot down in the little Lexus while his hazard lights are flashing. Finally, after trying to use the might of all six cylinders of his car, he finally realizes that's not going to cut the mustard. That's when the guy starts making quick turns, but he still can't outhandle the trooper who PITs the IS out. As the suspect drives out of that, another trooper comes along and PITs the Lexus again. Surrounded by at least three troopers, the kid and his passenger give up. Hopefully they both realized street takeovers are a dumb idea. I-20 Crash Claims Sixth Life, Texas Truck Driver Faces Six Manslaughter Charges

A tragic crash on Interstate 20 over the weekend has now claimed a sixth life, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The collision, which occurred Saturday afternoon near Terrell, Texas, involved a chain reaction crash with three 18-wheelers and four other cars. The driver of one of the big rigs, thirty-nine-year-old Alexis Osmani Gonzalez-Companioni, fell asleep at the wheel before slamming into multiple vehicles, two other semi-trucks, per Fox 4. The latest victim was initially airlifted to the hospital in critical condition but has since died from their injuries. Among those killed were four passengers traveling in a Ford F-150 pickup. A fifth passenger from that vehicle was the person who later died at the hospital. In addition, a passenger in a Jeep was also killed. DPS officials have confirmed that all of the victims were residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Gonzalez-Companioni is now facing six counts of manslaughter. Further details surrounding the tragic crash are still a bit cloudy as investigators continue to determine if he violated federally mandated rest periods for commercial drivers, a key factor in many fatigue-related crashes, according to the DPS. In Texas, truck drivers must adhere to strict Hours of Service rules, which allow up to 11 hours of driving within a 14-hour work window and require a 30-minute break after 8 hours on the road. Weekly limits also apply, with drivers able to reset after taking 34 consecutive hours off duty, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Additionally, results from toxicology tests are pending, which could also have significant implications for the truck driver. CBS interviewed two nurses who happened to be attending a nearby family reunion, who sprang into action, and tried to administer medical aid to many of the injured victims on I-20 before first responders arrived at the chaotic scene. As of the time of publication, the trucking company associated with Gonzalez-Companioni's vehicle has also not responded to any inquiries for comment about the crash or the driver's history. The full list of names of the victims has not yet been publicly released.

Asa Ellerup, in The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets: "I would need to hear it from Rex, face-to-face, for me to believe he killed these girls." What Happens Next A date for Heuermann's trial has not yet been set. The defense has requested that charges be split into five separate trials.
