Disgraced Prince Andrew airbrushed out of another royal occasion after secret Order of the Garter day appearance

Sky News AU17-06-2025
Prince Andrew has defiantly attended another Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle despite being barred from the public procession for the fourth year in a row.
The Most Noble Order of the Garter is an order of chivalry founded by Edward III of England in 1348 and is handed out at the discretion of King Charles in recognition of contributions to the nation and crown.
During the ceremony on Monday, senior royals including Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales arrived at St George's chapel via carriage.
Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh also attended the prestigious event and participated in the public procession.
Despite a lack photographic evidence available through photo wire services, the BBC has officially confirmed that the disgraced Prince Andrew also attended Garter Day.
The Duke of York was not featured in the public-facing carriage procession through the castle grounds for the fourth consecutive year and instead arrived to the castle separately.
It is understood Andrew, 64, was strictly permitted to only attend the private aspects of the ceremony, including a behind-closed-doors lunch and the actual investitures.
The Duke of York was reportedly seen by witnesses wearing a shirt and tie as he headed towards the castle despite being a member of the Garter himself and owning a Garter cloak.
The Duke of York was made a Knight of the Garter in 2006, before being promoted to a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO) in 2011.
Andrew's ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York, did not accompany her former husband to the event despite recently joining Andrew and her daughters at Easter Matins service in April.
On that occasion, Buckingham Palace was unable to block photographers and the public from capturing the Yorks arriving and departing the royal event.
Nevertheless, the palace went to great lengths to select photos where neither Fergie or Andrew was visible for their official coverage of the event shared via social media.
Andrew was stripped of his royal titles and duties over his links to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, who died in 2019 in a New York City jail.
The Duke of York also paid out a multi-million-pound settlement to Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre to settle a sexual abuse lawsuit in 2022.

King Charles funeral plans: Harry and Meghan feature strongly despite estrangement

They might have been estranged for years, but King Charles has made sure son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are at the centre of plans for his funeral. The Sussexes will be included at the highest level, with the Duke expected to walk side by side with then-King William — with whom he is also not currently on speaking terms — at the forefront of funeral processions through the streets of central London, The Telegraph reports. Preparations for Charles' funeral began within days of Queen Elizabeth's death on September 8, 2022, with a meticulously detailed plan that outlines everything from how the public will be informed to his lying in state and the funeral, dubbed Operation Menai Bridge. The plan, named after the world's first iron suspension bridge in Wales, is expected to evolve over time after discussions between senior representatives from the royal household, the police, the military and the church. And, Charles is reportedly adamant that Harry and Meghan take their rightful place during the days of solemn services that will follow his death. Provision has also been made for their children Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 3. The monarch, 76, is being treated for an incurable form of cancer and Harry has previously acknowledged he doesn't know how much longer his father has to live. Although recent reports suggest Charles is likely to die 'with' and not 'of' the condition when his time comes. Relations between the royals have been frosty ever since Harry and Meghan left Britain to live in the US, dropping a series of bombshells via high-profile interviews and a tell-all book and a Netflix documentary and airing their complaints about their time as senior royals. It is hoped the plans will help avoid the awkwardness of the Queen's funeral where Harry and Meghan were said to have felt further ostracised. There were differing versions of exactly when Harry learned of his grandmother's death and a frustrating lack of communication between Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes office was blamed for other dramas that included a mistaken invitation to a state reception and confusion over military uniforms. Prince Harry has recently extended an olive branch to his UK-based family, inviting Charles, and William to the Invictus Games in Birmingham in 2027, with insiders suggesting he regrets his role in the deepening royal rift.

Andre Garfield jokingly calls fan 'sick'

Andrew Garfield told a fan who sent a raunchy tweet about him that she was "sick". The 41-year-old actor appeared nervous during a Q+A after a screening of his drama We Live in Time during Glastonbury 2025 when he came face-to-face with the woman, who was behind an infamous post on X about wanting him to "smash a laptop on [her] t***", which he had read out during an interview with BuzzFeed back in 2021. In a video posted to Reddit, Andrew fidgeted in his chair and admitted: "I can't look at you in the eye." After receiving "informed consent" from the fan to share how they "know" one another, Andrew explained to the audience: "I had to read a bunch of tweets about me being kind of, sexually objectified online, basically, and one of them, which got me big, was, 'I want Andrew Garfield to smash a laptop on my t***.' "And that is in the room with us tonight." As the audience laughed, Andrew praised the woman for coming up with "one of the more creative sex acts I can imagine." However, he added: "I haven't imagined participating in that. I'm not — I refuse. But I'm happy to meet you, and you're very creative — and sick. You're sick." During the BuzzFeed segment, Andrew read out thirst posts shared on Twitter, which is now known as X. The messages included, "I'd let him eat crackers in bed" and "Andrew Garfield is literally the daddy of all daddies", and the Social Network star blushed and couldn't stop laughing as he read out. "I want Andrew Garfield to smash a laptop on my t***." Hiding his face in his hands, he exclaimed: "I'm not gonna do that, I draw the line. Nope! This is a pro tip, and also, like, boundaries — if anyone says, 'I wanna smash a laptop on your breasts,' just say, 'Get out of my house.' " Earlier this year, the Never Let Me Go actor revealed his "guilty pleasure" is Netflix's reality series Too Hot to Handle. He said: "F*** it's really good. [It has] a bunch of hot people who think they're going on a Love Island–type show. In the first interviews they're all like, 'Yeah, I can't wait to get railed like every day' and then the guys [are] like, 'Yeah, I can't wait to rail women every day.' They're just horny, hot people."
