International Yoga Day: UP Minister Danish Azad Ansari leads Yoga session at Darul Uloom Warsia

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 21 (ANI): On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, Uttar Pradesh Minister Danish Azad Ansari performed yoga at Darul Uloom Warsia in Lucknow along with several others, marking a symbolic event that reflected growing awareness around health and fitness across communities.
The event witnessed participation from dozens of people, including Muslim youth, at one of the prominent Islamic seminaries in the city.
The initiative was seen as a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Fit India Movement, with the minister describing it as a significant step towards national health consciousness.
Speaking to ANI at the event, Danish Azad Ansari said, 'The objective behind International Day of Yoga 2025 is that India should be health-conscious. This movement of Prime Minister Modi is a very important step towards Fit India. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, yoga camps have been organised across the country and the world. You will see that today, thousands of Muslim youth are participating in the Yoga Day program...'
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries performed Yoga in Gorakhpur on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day.
He welcomed everyone and said that Yoga Day is being celebrated not only in the country but also around the world. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making yoga popular globally.
While addressing the public, Yogi Adityanath said, 'Today, Yoga Day is being celebrated in Gorakhpur. The local minister, MPs, other public representatives, and all the brothers and sisters here are participating. I welcome everyone. This program is happening not just here, but across the country and the world. In Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is spreading the message of yoga. On the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, I send my warm wishes to everyone.'
'Yoga has been part of our culture since ancient times. Good health helps us fulfil our goals, and yoga helps us grow spiritually too. It's a tradition passed down by our sages through the Vedas, Puranas, and other ancient texts,' he added.
Yogi said that yoga builds spiritual strength and is India's gift to the world. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for getting global recognition for yogaHe also wished everyone good health and happiness on the occasion. (ANI)

Uttarakhand: Pauri Garhwal authorities conduct joint inspection of Kanwar Yatra route

Pauri Garhwal (Uttarakhand) [India], July 5 (ANI): Ahead of the Kanwar Yatra, authorities in Pauri Garhwal district on Saturday carried out a joint inspection of the pilgrimage route and directed urgent upgrades to infrastructure and safety measures. The inspection was led by District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria, who was accompanied by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and teams from the electricity, roads, and water departments. 'Today, we inspected the whole Kanwar Yatra route with the SSP and the whole team of electricity, road, and water. A detailed inspection was conducted of the pedestrian road, temple, parking area, and toilets,' Bhadauria told ANI. She also pointed out a few areas requiring immediate attention. 'There is a big parking lot of the Zila Panchayat where there is a slight shortage of toilets. We have also directed them about the solar lights on the pedestrian walk, while directions have been given for the safety of elephant-prone zones and dangerous zones,' she added. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand State Health Department has also prepared a comprehensive action plan to ensure pure and safe food is provided to the lakhs of devotees expected to participate in the yatra. According to an official release, special teams of food safety officers have been deployed in Haridwar, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri and Uttarkashi districts. These teams will regularly collect samples of milk, sweets, oil, spices, beverages, and other items from the pandals and send them to laboratories for testing. If any sample does not meet the standards, the concerned place will be closed immediately. Additional Commissioner of Food Safety and Drug Administration Tajbar Singh Jaggi stated that the government has made it clear that no leniency will be shown to those conducting food business without a license. Those who adulterate or violate the rules will face penalties as well as criminal action. According to the statement, the government has implemented strict arrangements to provide pure and safe food to the devotees during the Kanwar Yatra 2025. Health Secretary and Commissioner of the Food Safety and Drug Administration, R. Rajesh Kumar, stated that in this regard, some important mandatory instructions have been issued to all hotels, dhabas, carts, and other food vendors operating on the travel routes. Every food trader will have to put a clean copy of their license or registration certificate in a prominent place in their establishment so that consumers can easily see it. (ANI)

By Shalini Bhardwaj Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], July 5 (ANI): The Central Surveillance Unit of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is in close contact with the State unit Kerala and is actively monitoring the situation after two cases of Nipah Virus Disease were detected by Kerala IDSP. According to official sources, the deployment of a National Joint Outbreak Response Team (NJORT) is being considered. 'The Central Surveillance Unit of IDSP, NCDC, is in close contact with the State unit and is actively monitoring the situation. The State Control Room has been activated for coordinating the various containment activities,' sources told ANI. As per official sources, one positive case is of Bishara Nehrin, an 18-year-old female resident of Mallapuram District. The place of residence is rural, with a nearby forested area and fruit orchards reportedly frequented by Fruit bats. The patient succumbed to the illness on July 1 2025. 'The post-mortem samples (Serum, CSF, NPS & lung tissue) were sent to Regional VRDL in GMC, Kozhikode on 2nd July and were reported positive by RT-PCR,' they added. Informing about the other case, sources stated that Hasanath, a 38-year-old female and resident of Pallakad district .'The patient is presently admitted to a private hospital in Mallapuram and is on ventilatory support. The samples sent to NIV Pune on 4th July 2025 were confirmed to be positive for NiVD Public Health Response.' The official sources further said that more than 300 contacts have been identified thus far in 3 districts: Pallakad, Mallapuram and Kozhikode. (ANI)
