Ellen DeGeneres debuts brand new look as star gives glimpse into quiet UK farm life

Ellen DeGeneres has given fans a glimpse into her new life on a UK farm, as she also showed off her new hairstyle.
A recent Instagram video posted by the former talk show host shows DeGeneres attempting to mow the lawn at her new home in the UK in a video shot by her wife, Australian actress Portia de Rossi.
'Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower,' DeGeneres wrote in the caption. 'She was right.'
The video starts off with DeGeneres on a ride-on mower successfully mowing a small flat portion of her lawn, with the words 'How it started' written on the screen.
In the next clip, DeGeneres – who could be seen sporting longer, brown hair compared to her usual bleach blonde – struggled to drive the lawnmower up a hill, and the on-screen caption changed to 'How it ended.' The video showed DeGeneres sitting on the mower as someone assists her by pushing the machine from the back.
De Rossi can be heard struggling to hold back her laughter from behind the camera as she recorded the whole ordeal.
The Hollywood couple first made headlines when they reportedly moved to the UK in November 2024 after Donald Trump was elected president. They sold one of their homes in Montecito, California, in August 2024 and sold their second home in the city in March.
Shortly after news of the couple's big move broke, the two were spotted out with a group of friends at The Farmer's Dog in the Cotswolds, a countryside region in England. It is unclear where in the UK they relocated to, but they are rumoured to live in the English countryside.
DeGeneres is not the only comedian who left after President Trump won the election. In a TikTok video shared in March 2025, Rosie O'Donnell shared she left the country and moved to Ireland on January 15, five days before Trump's inauguration.
In the video, O'Donnell explained she 'was someone who never thought I would move to another country,' but she thought it was best for her and her young child.
'I miss my other kids,' she added of her five grown children. 'I miss my friends. I miss many things about life there at home. And I'm trying to find a home here in this beautiful country. And when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that's when we will consider coming back.'
When speaking with US Weekly in April, O'Donnell shared that she was 'shocked' to find out the reason DeGeneres chose to flee the country.
'I've never really known Ellen to say anything political in her life, so I was surprised to read that she left because of President Trump. Like, that shocked me, actually,' O'Donnell said. 'I've been a political person my whole life. Not better or worse. It's just a different way to be in the world.
'I was very clear about the reason why I was leaving, and I don't think it came as a surprise to anyone. We're not really in each other's worlds, and it's been kind of awkward, but you know what? I wish her the best. I wish that she has peace and love in her life and that she is OK.'

Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz-Beckham renew wedding vows

Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz-Beckham have renewed their wedding vows. The couple married in April 2022 after three years of dating and on Saturday (02.08.25) they reportedly reaffirmed their commitment to one another. A source told People magazine: 'The event is about honouring the love and commitment they've built together over the years, and creating a memory that will stay with them forever." In April, the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary and Brooklyn, 26, gushed he falls "more in love" with his 30-year-old wife as time passes. The pair showed the bouquet of pink roses Nicola received from her spouse, along with a note which read: "Dear Nicola, Happy anniversary baby x I love you so much and I continue to fall more in love with you every second x you make me a better man and I couldn't ask for a better partner x you are my soul and my rock x I love you so much Nicola xx Love brooklyn xxxxxxx 3 3.(sic)" Noticeably, Brooklyn's famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham, did not publicly wish the couple a happy anniversary or like their post about the milestone, nor did his siblings Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, who are active on social media. And it was recently received the aspiring chef - who also has a 14-year-old sister, Harper - and his wife were no longer following his brothers on Instagram. However, despite reports that Brooklyn and Nicola chose to unfollow Romeo and Cruz, friends of the couple alleged to MailOnline that the brothers actually blocked the Peltz-Beckhams on the app. Brooklyn and Nicola still follow his parents Victoria, 51, and David, 50 on Instagram and they both shared a sweet tribute to his younger sister Harper on her 14th birthday earlier this month. Meanwhile, Romeo's ex-girlfriend Kim Turnbull was recently forced to deny claims she was responsible for a rift between Romeo and Brooklyn. Denying a past relationship with Brooklyn, she said on her Instagram page: 'I've avoided speaking on this topic to prevent adding fuel to the fire, however it's come to a point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on. 'I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative. 'I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question. 'Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16. I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved.'

‘Misjudged': Truth about Meghan Markle's downfall

Even on The Real Housewives Of London, Meghan Markle is creating drama. Sadly, that's not because the Duchess of Sussex is making a glittering return to the UK to join the latest Housewives franchise. She's still holed up in California, making jam and tending to her bees. But that doesn't stop Meghan's presence being felt on the new series. In the trailer promoting the show's premiere, cast member Panthea Parker is warned by her husband not to ask King Charles any questions about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when they attend a Buckingham Palace garden party. It's a pity because that conversation would have made far juicier fodder for an episode of the Housewives than any previous champagne-fuelled shenanigans. (And that's saying something because there have been some doozies over the years.) Such is the power of Meghan Markle. Love her or hate her, our modern-day Mrs Simpson is always a compelling character to watch. And Meghan certainly gives us a lot of entertainment. In addition to the many documentaries and TV panel discussions devoted to analysing Meghan's rise and fall in the House of Windsor, the royal couple have been generating their own content. Since Megxit, there has been the infamous tell-all with Oprah Winfrey, Harry's biography Spare, podcast appearances, and the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, where the pair detailed their side of the family feud. There's also been the lifestyle series With Love, Meghan where the Suits star shared simple recipes as well as tips for hosting children's parties from inside her tastefully elegant Montecito home. commentator and royal expert Daniela Elser understands the appetite for all things Meghan Markle. 'On camera, she's a natural,' she explains. 'I think that's a talent that you have or you don't, and she has it in spades. She is incredibly beautiful, she's hugely stylish, and she clearly feels very comfortable there. In With Love, Meghan, she is obviously truly passionate about cooking, about food and gardening, and that comes across. I think the parts of that show that worked well were when she was in the kitchen with chefs like Roy Choi or Alice Waters, more so than when she was doing things like making a balloon arch.' While people have been quick to criticise all these appearances as proof Meghan is out of touch and shameless in her quest for attention, we keep lapping it up. And so, does she deserve to be the target of such vitriol? No. Should she execute a bit more discretion before posting videos of herself bumping and grinding in the delivery suite? Absolutely. Or maybe Meghan is just a girl standing in front of the world asking them to love her. So how does she win us back? Not with tips for welcoming house guests with lavender-scented towels and gift baskets, it seems. Evan Nierman, Founder and CEO of global PR firm Red Banyan, told Us Weekly magazine that it would be very hard for Meghan to turn the tide of public opinion back around now. 'Meghan took what could have been a real-life fairy tale and turned it into an ugly 'tell-all', almost like ruining a Disney movie,' he said. 'She misjudged how much goodwill she could burn before people lost interest, and now she's facing the reality that rebuilding a reputation is far harder than maintaining one.' Time will tell. And I, for one, will be watching with interest. Meanwhile, here's some Meghan sparkle available on Tubi. Harry & Meghan: A Modern Royal Romance: Created to celebrate their impending wedding, this 2018 documentary charts the love story of Prince Harry and the Suits star. Hollywood Princesses: Grace and Meghan: This 2023 documentary analyses the journeys of two actresses – Grace Kelly and Meghan Markle – who traded Hollywood for a Palace. Meghan Markle: Unforgiven: Although she was initially seen as a 'breath of fresh air' for the royal family, this 2023 documentary examines how the global love affair with Meghan has turned sour.

How men can reject Trump's crude masculinity and rediscover their richer selves

It was one of the most erotic things I ever heard. A man I know said he was reading all the novels of Jane Austen in one summer. At first, I figured he was pretending to like things that women like to seem simpatico, a feminist hustle. But no, this guy really wanted to read Northanger Abbey. Men are reading less. Women make up 80 per cent of fiction sales. 'Young men have regressed educationally, emotionally and culturally,' David J. Morris wrote in a New York Times essay titled 'The Disappearance of Literary Men Should Worry Everyone.' The fiction gap makes me sad. A man staring into a phone is not sexy. But a man with a book has become so rare, such an object of fantasy, that there's a popular Instagram account called 'Hot Dudes Reading.' Some of the most charming encounters I've had with men were about books. Mike Nichols once turned to me at a dinner in Los Angeles and told me his favourite novel was Edith Wharton's The House of Mirth. I was startled because I have read that book over and over, finding it a great portrait of a phenomenon that is common in politics. Someone makes a wrong move and is unable to recover, slipping into a shame spiral. (This does not apply to Donald Trump.) I went to interview Tom Stoppard in Dorset a few years ago. The playwright has no computer and is not on social media. He writes with a Caran d'Ache fountain pen with a six-sided barrel. Stoppard had a romantic-looking bookcase full of first editions of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. He complained that his book collection was regularly raided by 'American burglars.'
