Caitlyn Dickson was leaving an organised car meet near Crown Casino in Burswood when she was hit last night and rushed to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition. A 25-year-year-old will face court tomorrow after being charged tonight over the crash . Caitlyn was on foot when she was hit by a Honda Civic on Camfield Drive in Burswood on Monday, July 14, 2025. (9News) Caitlyn's parents, Paul and Bec Dickson, tonight said they were still in shock. "We are so very grateful to the first responders," they said, in a statement. "It is a miracle that our beautiful girl is still alive – thanks to your efforts. "Caitlyn is a fighter and we know is in for the fight of her life." Caitlyn was on foot when she was hit by a Honda Civic on Camfield Drive about 9.55pm (11.55pm AEST) yesterday. She suffered internal bleeding and broken bones and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition. The impact shattered the car's windscreen but the driver was uninjured. Caitlyn Dickson was leaving an organised car meet near Crown Casino in Burswood when she was hit on Monday, July 14, 2025. (9News) "The body in the air, three, four metres in the air, flinging, like they do in the movies or in Grand Theft Auto ," witness Zak Madsen told 9News. Police weren't on site at the time but had been there earlier in the night. An Ascot man has been charged with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, in circumstances of aggravation. It's alleged he was speeding when he hit the teen pedestrian. Car enthusiasts say anti-social behaviour is becoming more common at meets like this and they've had enough, some now fearing for their safety and choosing to stay away. "You want to be able to go out and have a good night out with your mates and not have to look over your shoulder in fear," witness Michael Wood said. The impact shattered the car's windscreen but the driver was uninjured. (9News) Premier Roger Cook weighed in today. "We know the reason why these events are so popular amongst young people is because they film it, they post it online, they make it popular, which continues to drive that risky behaviour," he said. Locals say it's another reason the Burswood race track shouldn't go ahead. "This is going to impact and escalate the hooning that's already happening on Canfield drive with the race track happening," Save Burswood Park co-convenor Robin Harvey said. An online fundraiser has been set up to help the Dicksons. CONTACT US

'Do it': Melbourne man's final words before daylight execution

Your web browser is no longer supported. To improve your experience update it here New details have emerged about the final moments of a suspected underworld henchman who died in a hail of bullets in a Melbourne laneway yesterday. Athan Boursinos was gunned down in broad daylight yesterday while leaving his family's Wollert townhouse. 9News understands the 21-year-old got out of his BMW and challenged his killer to "do it" before he was shot in the side of the head. Athan Boursinos, 21, was gunned down in a Wollert laneway on Thursday morning. (Nine) It's understood Boursinos was on the way to court on drug, weapon, theft and driving offences. Neighbour Tanco Taneski's bedroom is just metres from the alley where the deadly ambush took place. "At least three to four [shots] first bum, bum, bum. Then at least another three and then the last two. At least eight, I think," he told 9News. "After that, screaming - probably his father came out and saw him on the ground." Boursinos' father is a former police sergeant, but his son is believed to be a suspect in the shooting of gangland figure Sam "The Punisher" Abdulrahim in January. The 21-year-old was ambushed in an execution-style shooting just metres from his family home. (Nine) But family say Boursinos was cleaning up his life, had turned to God and was ready to face his previous charges in court. His brother told 9News this morning that Boursinos has the biggest heart and was the bravest person he knew. Boursinos' fiancee took to social media to express her heartache. "I will never stop loving you," she wrote. "You're the best person I have ever met with the best soul. "I can't wait to see and hold you again." Police are yet to confirm if a four-wheel-drive found torched in Reservoir was used as a getaway car by Boursino's killer. Overnight, a Ford ute was torched on an empty block closer to the crime scene. It is not believed to be linked to the 21-year-old's murder. Man arrested in alleged $38m fraud scheme to remain in custody

A man allegedly involved in a massive $38m fraud scheme will remain in custody on remand after his arrest at a $37,000-a-month Barangaroo penthouse rental. Bing Li, one of two alleged ringleaders of the fraud scheme, was hauled out of a suite at Crown casino in Barangaroo on Thursday wearing a $6000 Louis Vuitton bomber jacket and marched through the forecourt to a waiting police van. The 38-year-old has been charged with a long list of offences, including 87 counts of deception, forgery and proceeds of crime charges. Police will allege he is responsible for a $12.9m fraud. In the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday, Mr Li's matter was briefly mentioned. A release application for Mr Li to be bailed was initially submitted to the court. However, it was later withdrawn, with Mr Li expected to remain in custody on remand ahead of his next court appearance. He will return to court on September 11. NSW Police began investigating a luxury 'ghost car' loan fraud scheme in January 2024 but now say the alleged scam run wider into large-scale personal, business and home loan fraud. In the early hours of Wednesday, police raided 10 properties, seizing two Bentleys, a Ferrari 360, cash, a gun and two Tasers, body armour and drugs. Speaking to the media at Parramatta Police Station, Detective Superintendent Gordon Arbinja said members of the alleged syndicate had 'lived an opulent lifestyle'. 'We know that the Barangaroo man had been renting a penthouse in Barangaroo worth $18m for $37,000 a month,' he said. 'Yesterday, when we went thorough a safety deposit box, we located over $1m worth of luxury items, including watches and jewellery and cash. 'We did ask one of the alleged offenders what they did for a living, and he told investigators that he was a professional gambler.' Meanwhile, the second alleged ringleader, a 34-year-old man from Seaforth, faces 107 similar allegations. Among the charges are 87 knowingly deal with proceeds of crime allegations, 19 counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, and one count of participating in a criminal group. He was denied bail, and police allege he has committed a $4m fraud. Six people have already been arrested during this investigation, with the NSW Crime Commission seizing or restraining $18m in assets. Police put Wednesday's haul at $20m, taking the total value of seizures to $38m. The investigation began at the start of 2024 when police uncovered an alleged syndicate targeting vehicle financing companies in Sydney. The syndicate was allegedly using stolen personal information to apply for loans through various companies, for 'luxury 'ghost cars' that did not exist', the police spokesperson said. 'Ongoing investigations revealed the syndicate's operations extended well beyond car financing fraud to (alleged) large-scale personal, business and home loan fraud against multiple financial institutions.'
