A male cat's unwavering presence beside a pregnant feline has melted the hearts of viewers online, after a short video of the pair went viral on TikTok.
Posted by @sophiasenchi on June 13, the video has garnered more than 4.1 million views and 806,000 likes, resonating with animal lovers drawn to the intimate moment between the expectant feline couple. The clip, which runs just 13 seconds, shows a female cat lying in a pen as she appears to prepare for labor. Nearby, a male cat watches closely, his gaze fixed on her with what many viewers have described as unmistakable concern.
The video's on-screen text reads: "Dad being so concerned that mama is in pain and about to give birth," while the caption adds: "He kept crying for her." The post has prompted more than 1,700 comments, many expressing admiration for the male cat's attentive behavior and the emotional bond on display.
The brief but powerful footage offers a rare glimpse into the social dynamics of domestic cats, an area of animal behavior that remains less documented than their canine counterparts. While it is uncommon for male cats to play a role in birth or kitten-rearing in the wild or in most domestic settings, viewers were struck by the tenderness on display.
TikTok users flooded the comment section with responses describing the scene as heartwarming and emotionally stirring.
"They kissed in the beginning," one viewer said, while another added: "First supportive cat baby daddy I've seen."
"His little ears down," a third viewer commented.
"If cats don't leave their wives when they're pregnant we shouldn't too," another said.
"Please tell at least some of the babies inherited his ears," a different viewer said.
"Boy cats are the sweetest," another added. "Mine stayed to watch her through the entire birth process and cuddled with the babies."
"When nature shows you a good example," another said, while another added lightheartedly: "Happy father's day to him."
"We need more men like this," another viewer said, in much agreement.
"Baby you alright? If you need me to do anything just let me know ok? I will be with you through everything I promise," another added.
"Male Scottish folds are genuinely the cutest and most caring cats on the planet and to top it off they're so cute," another said.

Post Malone splits from girlfriend Christy Lee

Post Malone has split from his girlfriend, Christy Lee. The 29-year-old singer and rapper started dating Christy, a stylist, at the beginning of the year, after splitting from his fiancée, Hee Sung 'Jamie' Park last November. Now, the couple have split, with TMZ reporting the pair called it quits about a month ago. The pair were first spotted together in January, on a dinner date in Rome. Then, in March a fan shared footage of them together on TikTok. Post Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, is currently in a custody battle with Park over their three-year-old daughter. He announced her birth in June 2022 but has never publicly disclosed her name. In legal documents she's referred to as DDP. The Grammy-award winning artist has filed for custody in Utah, while Park has filed for custody in Los Angeles. Sources had suggested to TMZ that he filed in Utah to benefit him financially, as Utah is less generous with child-support payments than California. However, his lawyer, well-known divorce attorney Laura Wasser has told the court that the little girl has ties to Utah, including her nanny, pediatrician, music classes, physical education, and swimming. The singer is due to embark on a UK and Europe Tour, called the BIG ASS World Tour.

Instagram Improves Spotify Music Sharing Options in Stories

This story was originally published on Social Media Today. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Social Media Today newsletter. Instagram's rolling out the ability to actually listen to a preview of a song that you've shared from Spotify in IG Stories, as opposed to just providing a Spotify link, further refining its music engagement elements. So now, when you share a Spotify music sticker within your IG Stories, viewers will be able to listen to it in-stream. Up till now, you've been able to share Spotify music stickers, but that only provided a link back to the Spotify track. The updated sticker now also includes audio, which is a big improvement. Yet, at the same time, functionally, it's not really new, as you've been able to post music in Stories since forever. But you haven't been able to combine Spotify song sharing within Stories in the same way, to it builds on that functionality. Though you have been able to share songs to your Stories via 'Add Yours' music stickers, while you can also now share songs from Spotify to your IG Notes, a feature that Instagram added last month. And now, you can also share what you're listening to on Spotify direct to Stories as well, adding another music engagement option in the app. WhatsApp added the same for its version of Stories, in WhatsApp Status, last month. The option adds another means to counter the rising influence of TikTok, and potentially replace TikTok's presence in this respect, if TikTok ever ends up getting banned in the U.S. TikTok has become a key platform for music promotion, with music publishers now focusing on the app as an essential connector, with some even changing their artists' song names to better align with TikTok trends. But if TikTok goes bye-bye, as a result of the 'Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act,' then all that music engagement will have to go elsewhere, and IG seems to be setting itself up as the best alternative in this respect. Though YouTube is also adding music features to tap into the same opportunity, and with TikTok continuing to get extensions from Trump, it doesn't look like it's going anywhere either way. But still, it's another music engagement option, which will provide more ways for IG users to share their favorite tracks. TikTok Partners With Sukeban for Coverage of Anime Expo 2025

This story was originally published on Social Media Today. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Social Media Today newsletter. TikTok has announced a new partnership with wrestling league 'Sukeban,' which will see TikTok host a range of exclusive content shared from L.A.'s 'Anime Expo' later this week. As explained by TikTok: 'Sukeban, the Japanese female pro-wrestling league and live events and entertainment brand, will partner with TikTok to deliver a special fan experience at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles, taking place July 3rd-6th. The immersive activation will give Anime Expo attendees exclusive access into the world of Sukeban - celebrating anime, manga and Japanese culture, through a dynamic lineup of programming.' It's a somewhat niche partnership for TikTok, aligning with the rising popularity of Japanese culture in the U.S., as another means to play a role in the broader zeitgeist, and align with youth trends. As you can see from the video, Sukeban is a sort of encapsulation of all things Japanese culture, which has sparked resonance with a big community in the app. The Sukeban profile has almost 50k followers, while broader discussion has facilitated all-new communities in the app. This new partnership will further enhance that connection, and make TikTok a bigger player in connecting fans. 'TikTok will be a presenting partner for Sukeban's first-ever World Championship Fight, taking place July 5th as one of Anime Expo's Featured Performances. This five match card will bring together Tokyo's toughest wrestlers and girl gangs in a battle for the Sukeban Champion title, headlined by reigning World Champion Sareee Bomb defending her title against challenger Maya Mamushi. The event will also feature special musical performances and surprise appearances.' Yeah, again, it's a niche event, but it makes sense for TikTok to latch onto cultural trends like this, as a means to underline its role in connection, and bringing users together around their interests. It'll also be a big promotional opportunity for the app, with TikTok branding on Sukeban signage, and that could further help to align TikTok with this community. Which may also be of relevance for your promotions, if you're looking to tap into Japanese culture with your ads. You can learn more about the new TikTok Sukeban partnership here.
