(Photo by Delil SOULEIMAN / AFP) For the 10th consecutive day, Syrian Civil Defense teams, firefighting brigades, and their supporting teams from Jordan and other countries continue their tireless efforts to prevent the loss of further green forest areas and contain the fires before they spread to the Al-Farlaq and Kasab forests, whose edges had been engulfed by flames over the past two days. The teams were able to establish effective fire lines that prevented the fire from entering these sensitive areas, despite the difficult conditions they face. Strong winds contribute to the sudden spread of the fire, and the presence of mines and war remnants causes repeated explosions and poses a direct threat to the personnel working on the ground.
