
RAM launches 'Future Readiness Award'
The launch of this award stems from RAM's strategic vision of cementing Oman's position in future readiness and empowering individuals, institutions and nations to anticipate emerging shifts and navigate complexity with agility, while advancing prosperity amid accelerating change and transformational societal and technological dynamics. Future readiness encompasses several dimensions, most notably fostering a culture of innovation and creativity, developing strategic foresight skills to anticipate the future, and instilling a mindset of adaptability and resilience to ensure sustainable success.

Dr Ali bin Qassim al Lawati, President of RAM, stated on this occasion: 'Preparing future leaders is not limited to adapting to change, but extends to the ability to anticipate it, guide its direction and lead effectively through it." He confirmed that the Royal Academy of Management as part of its strategic plans places special emphasis on nurturing this type of leadership through enriching structured dialogue, exploring global trends and transforming enlightened ideas into applied solutions with tangible impact.
Dr Al Lawati added: 'This award reaffirms our shared belief with Thinkers50 that ambitious ideas, when grounded in practical reality, have the power to redefine how institutions prepare and lead the future.' From his side, Des Dearlove, Co-founder of Thinkers50, emphasised the need for leaders at all levels to adopt a strategic approach focused on building organisational resilience to effectively confront rapid and unforeseen transformations, alongside the ability to anticipate future developments and apply anticipatory innovation through the capacity to forecast change and develop creative solutions ensuring continuity of growth and institutional success.
Submissions will be considered by the Assessment Committee carefully selected based on criteria such as global standing in the field of future readiness, geographical diversity, and diverse expertise from both the public and private sectors, as well as academia. The committee was established in collaboration between the Royal Academy of Management and Thinkers50.

RAM launches Executive Leadership Programme for public sector leaders
Muscat: Driven by its ongoing mission to develop national talent within the public sector, the Royal Academy of Management (RAM) recently launched the Executive Leadership Programme for Department Heads. Designed to strengthen capabilities through an advanced executive learning journey that is focused on leadership, management development, and institutional innovation, the strategic initiative targets senior public sector leaders. It is set to make a significant contribution to enhancing organisational performance across government institutions in the Sultanate of Oman. 'The launch of the Executive Leadership Programme for Department Heads represents a pivotal step in achieving the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by developing leaders with a renewed growth mindset capable of leading innovative, high-performance teams,' said Dr Fathiya Al Rashdi, Vice President for Programme Affairs at the Royal Academy of Management. She added, 'This comprehensive programme is designed to develop participants' leadership and management skills, enhance their understanding of institutional innovation, and enable them to adapt to the rapidly evolving work environment. The diverse learning modules will help build a new generation of government leaders capable of driving change and fostering innovation in the Sultanate of Oman.' The Executive Leadership Programme is designed for 30 participants, comprising department heads and their counterparts in supervisory roles across Oman's civil and military administrative apparatus. RAM's Executive Leadership Programme will feature five comprehensive modules designed to sharpen participants' leadership, management, and innovation capabilities. The programme begins by fostering a growth mindset and honing skills in leading oneself, teams, and organisations, alongside motivational leadership and negotiation skills. The second module explores executive innovation, focusing on creative thinking, innovation strategies, and adaptive leadership. Financial acumen is the focus area of the third module, which covers government budgeting principles, financial data analysis, investment strategies, and effective reporting. The fourth module delves into project and risk management strategies vital for successful programme execution. Finally, the fifth module will centre on project presentations, emphasising enhanced communication, confidence, and leveraging innovative presentation tools. The immersive learning journey will also include site visits, accelerator experiences, virtual reality activities, in-person training and mentoring sessions, and a hackathon featuring a distinguished group of experts and speakers. Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will be able to elevate their impact as resilient, strategic leaders who, among other skills and capabilities, can think creatively, apply innovation in their roles, build effective teams, develop innovative solutions, and enhance their communication and confidence to lead effectively and drive positive change within their organisations. With a clear strategic plan and an unwavering commitment to its mission, Royal Academy of Management continues to deliver a range of initiatives and programmes that address the requirements of diverse sectors and leadership communities across the Sultanate of Oman.

RO 2.59 billion invested in tourism projects
MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has confirmed that land usufruct agreements signed across various governorates are playing a key role in advancing Oman's tourism sector and enriching visitor experiences. These efforts are part of the national strategy to enhance tourism investments and support sustainable development. Operating under the Tenth Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), the Ministry aims to attract RO 3 billion in private tourism investment. So far, RO 2.59 billion has been secured, with a strong focus on integrating small and medium enterprises (SMEs) into tourism-related value chains. From early 2024 to the end of May 2025, 45 land usufruct contracts were signed — 14 of them this year — to implement various tourism projects across Oman. These include eco-friendly luxury camps, hotels, and resorts catering to different market segments. Ameera bint Iqbal al Lawati, Director General of Tourism Development at the Ministry, said the goal is to diversify Oman's tourism offerings both geographically and functionally. 'These projects go beyond traditional accommodation and aim to deliver integrated tourism experiences that enhance destination appeal while supporting local communities through job creation and economic activity,' she said. She added that the Ministry seeks to balance supply and demand by expanding services in ecotourism, mountain tourism, and adventure tourism, all while maintaining Omani identity and environmental values.
