While the club successfully defended their PSL title, their aspirations for the Nedbank Cup fell short when they were eliminated by Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-finals. Additionally, their quest for continental glory ended at the hands of Pyramids FC of Egypt, who went on to claim their first CAF Champions League crown. As the dust settles on these departures, many eyes will be on Sundowns as they embark on a new season filled with promise and potential, bolstered by a fresh influx of talent as they strive to continue their reign at the summit of South African football. Sundowns are set to begin their pre-season preparations on 21 July. This year, the club is breaking from tradition by remaining closer to home, opting for a domestic training camp in Rustenburg rather than travelling abroad. By convening in Rustenburg, Sundowns aim to create a focused environment conducive to training and development. The players will have the opportunity to work closely with the coaching team, fine-tuning tactics and strategies designed to bolster their on-field performances.
