A record seven teams joined together to complete a deal, centered around Kevin Durant's trade from the Rockets to the Suns. Also taking part were the Timberwolves, Warriors, Hawks and Nets.

The Lakers' role wasn't major and it didn't bring with it a bunch of new moves, but rather already reported dealings that got consolidated for efficiency reasons.
According to Marc Stein, the Lakers' only acquisition in the deal were the already known draft rights to Adou Thiero from Brooklyn.

The Lakers sent out the draft rights to Rocco Zikarsky and cash considerations to the Timberwolves.
It's not a crucial role for L.A. to play by any means, but the cash they sent to Minnesota must've helped facilitate other parts of the deal.

"We would all be miserable with an extended period of no structure," one Redditor stated. It makes more sense to work extra hours and pursue every good opportunity when you are single, but the dynamic shifts for many people when they become adults. One Redditor summed this trend up nicely. "Make sure you are spending time wisely at work and not just working for work's sake. Cut back rigorously on [stuff] that doesn't matter. When I had no kids, I put in 60 hours regularly; as a parent, I put in 35-45, depending on the situation. My performance reviews never got worse." "My current work is actually closing in the middle of July.
