Man allegedly suffers fractured hand after arrest by N.B. RCMP, SiRT investigates
The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating an arrest by New Brunswick RCMP that allegedly resulted in a man suffering a fractured hand.
Police responded to a disturbance at the Moncton Lion's Club on the evening of June 3, according to a news release from SiRT.
Officers spotted two adult men fighting outside the building. One of the men ran away and was later detained for an assault. He also showed signs of intoxication, according to SiRT.
'While being escorted to cells he continued to resist the officers and had to be placed on the floor to remove the handcuffs,' reads the release.
The man complained of wrist pain and was later diagnosed with a fracture to his right hand.
SiRT is responsible for investigations into serious injury, death, sexual assault and death that may have arisen due to the actions of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick police officers.

He noted that the driver did not suffer significant injuries. 'We can't comment yet on some of the potential charges to come out of this,' he said. When asked if speed was a factor in the crash, Bell said, 'Almost undoubtedly.' 'Was it excessive speed or moderate speed? We don't quite know yet,' he added. 'Major Collision Bureau's gonna be on scene and mapping out the collision site, and part of their investigation is going to be a download of that vehicle to see exactly how fast it was travelling.' Canada-wide warrant issued for man in Pickering fire that killed his wife's mother
A homicide investigation is undeway after a 69-year-old woman was found inside a home that caught fire on Primrose Court in Pickering. (Craig Barry/CTV News Toronto) Durham police have identified a second suspect being sought in connection with a fire in Pickering last month that left a 69-year-old woman dead. Police said 34-year-old Elston Coutinho is wanted for second-degree murder. The fire broke out at a house near Primrose Court and Fairport Road, north of Finch Avenue, on the afternoon of June 11. When crews arrived, they found a 69-year-old woman dead inside the home. Following an autopsy, her death was ruled a homicide. Police have not released her identity, but Sgt. Joanne Bortoluss confirmed to CP24 on Saturday that the victim is the mother of 34-year-old Sandra Coutinho who was arrested on June 19 and charged her with accessory after the fact to murder. Bortoluss added that Elston is Sandra's husband. Police say there is a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of Elston and are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact homicide investigators at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or Crime Stoppers anonymously. The cause, origin and circumstances of the fire are under investigation.

1 in critical condition, man arrested for impaired driving after 4-vehicle Brampton collision
Multiple people are in hospital and one man was arrested for impaired driving after a four-vehicle collision in Brampton Thursday afternoon, police say. Around 4:15 p.m., officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Highway 50 and Coleraine Drive, Peel Regional Police said on X. Police reported multiple injuries, including one person who was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. Peel paramedics told CBC Toronto they took two people hospital with injuries.
