Officials told not to neglect applicants' issues
Speaking at Public Grievance Redressal Programme on Monday at the Collectorate, the JC, alongside DRO Parthasarathi, Special Deputy Collector Suryanarayana, Ramasubbayya, and RDO Suvarna, received petitions from citizens across the district.Kumar stressed thorough field-level examination of each petition, urging resolutions within the stipulated timeframe to avoid delays or re-openings. He emphasised zero pendency beyond the Service Level Agreement, prioritising applicant contentment.
Citizens from various mandals submitted grievances on issues like land disputes, ration card approvals, housing allotments, and pension sanctions. Notable petitions included S Venkata Ramudu from Nimmalakunta village, Dharmavaram mandal, a shadow puppetry artist, requesting to perform at Vinayaka Chavithi festival; Sriramappa from TD Palli village, Madakasira mandal, seeking an old-age pension; and M Manoshma Reddy from Bhadrapuram village, Kanaganapalli mandal, appealing for a hostel seat at Kasturba School for her daughter, citing her husband's mental instability and disappearance.
A total of 172 petitions were received: 60 from Puttaparthi, 44 from Penukonda, 41 from Dharmavaram, and 27 from Kadiri. Kumar reiterated the administration's commitment to resolving these grievances efficiently to meet public expectations.

Remove Ads In a significant development just ahead of the assembly elections in Bihar, Election Commission officials on Sunday indicated that a 'large number' of possible foreign nationals have been found living in the state and their names would be excluded from the final electoral rolls if it is so proven after "proper enquiry".The ECI is currently conducting a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar which involves house-to-house enumeration and verification of documents of every elector. "During the house-to-house visits, a large number of people from Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar have been found by the BLOs. These persons have been able to procure all documents including aadhaar, domicile certificate, ration card etc", ECI sources said. They said "after proper enquiry to be conducted from Aug 1 till Aug 30, if found true, such names shall not be included in the final list to be published on Sept 30, 2025".The three documents: Aadhaar, domicile certificate and ration card are not among the 11 documents proof-listed by the ECI in its June 24 order. The Supreme Court last week asked the ECI to consider allowing aadhaar and ration cards as well. The latest ECI revelation, therefore, is bound to bring the issue of citizenship to the centre of the SIR, especially in the Seemanchal region. Seemanchal is roughly spread across 24 assembly seats across the four districts of Kishanganj, Araria, Purnea and Katihar and has often been under watch for suspected infiltration of illegal immigrants. The home ministry has, on various occasions, highlighted the issue of influx of immigrants into different parts of the country, especially the Rohingyas. The issue of suspected Bangladeshi and Rohingyas Muslim presence in Seemanchal region has also been red flagged by agencies, sources told ET. "The issue of illegal intruders is related to national security, and should be dealt with strictly and they should be identified and deported," said a senior government per official estimates, there are nearly 40,000 Rohingyas across India with the highest number in Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Haryana among others. The problem has compounded since late 2011 with Rohingyas from Rakhine province in Myanmar migrating to India following persecution by the Myanmar armed there are no specific figures for Bihar, as per a Parliament reply on February 24, 2016, West Bengal with 3,724, followed by Tripura (1713), Tamil Nadu (639) and Maharashtra (228) recorded the highest number of cases of arrest of foreign nationals in 2014 under various sections of the Foreigners Act, 1946 and on charges of violating other provisions of the Immigration Control Rules & Regulations. There were 28,356 such foreign nationals found to be overstaying as of December 2014. As per the home ministry's data, more than 14,000 Rohingyas are presently registered with the UNHCR, as staying in India.

Bihar SIR exercise: Nepali, Bangladeshi nationals found with Indian documents
NEW DELHI: Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the Election Commission of India (ECI) conducting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar have found a number of individuals from Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar possessing Indian documents like Aadhaar, domicile certificates and ration cards, sources said on Sunday. According to officials in the ECI, the ground-level officials of the poll panel have so for established direct contact with nearly all voters in the state as part of the SIR exercise. A source said, 'A thorough verification will be carried out between August 1 and 30, and names found not eligible will be excluded from the final voter list set to be published on September 30. 'During house-to-house visits for SIR in Bihar, a large number of people from Nepal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar have been found by BLOs. These persons have been able to procure all documents including Aadhaar, domicile certificate, ration card etc,' he said. At the time of the announcement for conducting the SIR in Bihar, the ECI had said that it was necessary due to a number of reasons, including inclusion of the names of foreign illegal immigrants in the current list.

Patna (Bihar) [India], July 13 (ANI): A large number of individuals from Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar have been found by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) with Aadhaar cards, domicile certificates and ration cards during house-to-house visits carried out as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar, according to sources. The State will have assembly polls later in the year. ECI sources say that after a proper enquiry to be conducted from 1 Aug till 30 Aug, if found true, such names shall not be included in the final list to be published on 30 Sep 2025. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India (ECI) said till Saturday evening 80.11 per cent of electors in Bihar submitted their forms, adding that the commission is moving ahead to complete the collection of Enumeration Forms (EFs) before the stipulated time, July 25. 'With 77,895 BLOs, an additional 20,603 newly appointed BLOs on the ground, ECI is moving ahead to complete the collection of Enumeration Forms (EFs) before the stipulated time of 25th July 2025. Field-level teams, including 38 District Election Officers (DEOs), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) across all 243 Assembly Constituencies, and 963 Assistant EROs (AEROs), are being closely monitored by the CEO for this purpose,' the ECI said. These efforts of ECI are being supplemented 1.5 Lakh BLAs appointed by all political parties who are also visiting door to door and leaving no stone unturned to ensure inclusion of each and every existing elector whose names are in the Electoral Roll in Bihar as on 24 June 2025. Special efforts are also being made to assist senior citizens, PwD electors, and other vulnerable groups by over 4 lakh volunteers. 'Having completed 100 per cent printing and near completion of distribution of EFs to all electors who were found at their addresses, as of 6 pm today, collection crossed 6,32,59,496 or 80.11 per cent. Which means 4 out of every 5 5 electors in Bihar have submitted the EF. With this pace, the majority of EFs are likely to be collected much before 25th July 2025,' it said. In order to get their names included in the draft electoral rolls to be published on 1st Aug, electors have to submit their EFS, preferably, along with eligibility documents. In case any elector needs more time to submit the eligibility documents, they can submit them separately till 30 Aug, i.e. the last date of filing claims and objections and take the help of volunteers as well. Achieving yet another step well in time, BLOS have already digitised and uploaded 4.66 crore Enumeration Forms in ECINet by 6 PM today. ECINet is the newly developed integrated software that has subsumed all the different 40 ECI Apps that had existed earlier. (ANI)
