'Rassie has led the side before and brings experience to the role, while providing valuable support to the younger players on this tour,' Conrad said.
Corbin Bosch, Senuran Muthusamy, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Rubin Hermann all earned their first call ups for the T20 side.
'Lhuan-dré and Rubin have been rewarded for their outstanding domestic form in the SA20 and we're excited to see how they adapt to the demands of international cricket. We know what Corbin has to offer at this level and we are keen to see how his Test and ODI skills will translate to the T20I arena,' said Conrad.

‘Just the beginning,' says Pretorius after hitting 153 on debut for Proteas
The young batter continued his remarkable rise in world cricket by smashing an excellent century against Zimbabwe. Lhuan-dre Pretorius, seen here in action for the Titans, scored a century on debut for the Proteas on Saturday. Picture: Sydney Seshibedi/Gallo Images Lhuan-dre Pretorius said his swashbuckling century was 'just the beginning' following the Proteas batter becoming the youngest South African to score a century on debut on Saturday. Pretorius, at just 19 years and 93 days old, surpassed Graeme Pollock (19 years and 318 days old, achieved in 1963) as the youngest South African to score a hundred on debut. Pretorius smashed 153 on day one of the first Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo on Saturday to help the Proteas close the day on 418/9. 'Amazing' Corbin Bosch also hit an excellent century batting lower down the order, while another debutant, Dewald Brevis, made 51 off 41 balls. The young Pretorius said he was grateful to go past the record set by Pollock all those years ago. 'I'm grateful, it's amazing,' said the youngster who came to prominence during this year's SA20 competition. He backed up that showing by scoring plenty of runs in the domestic four-day competition, which helped get him selected for this Test series in Zimbabwe. 'It's a dream come true,' he added about scoring a century on debut. 'I also got a message from AB (de Villiers), who said 'well batted'. I'm lost for words actually.' Asked what his message would be for any other youngsters starting out their cricketing careers, Pretorius said: 'Just to back yourself, be mentally strong, trust your game, trust the people around you who help you. And then also, it's about hard work, discipline, the things off the field that you carry into the game.' Pretorius came to the crease with the Proteas in trouble early in their first innings at 23/3. 'Play with a smile' 'It was doing a bit, the situation was tough, but when you're playing for your country you must embrace the moment,' said the left-hander. 'I tried to enjoy it out there and play with a smile on my face. I love batting and hope I can do it again and again. This is just the beginning.' Pretorius added the Proteas were now in a strong position in the Test going into day two. 'This is definitely where we want to be after day one. They bowled well early on, so we had to absorb some pressure, but it got nice to bat later in the day. It also started turning which is good for us, but there's also a lot of bounce, and we've got some pace as well.'

Springboks batter BaaBaas in Cape Town
No 8 Jean-Luc du Preez, another long-time absentee from the Boks ranks, was full of honest endeavour. Perhaps predictably given the conditions, flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu delivered a mixed bag. Scrumhalf Morne van den Berg's intelligent use of the boot caged the Barbarians inside their own territory, while replacement Cobus Reinach injected energy and purpose after the break. Kurt-Lee Arendse was typically hawkish in eyeing opportunity, Kolbe played as if fit with all-weather tyres, while Fassi was full of the lustre that has characterised his season. Kolbe was electrifying in the second half. The visitors' scrum infractions started to mount in the first half as trimmed-down tighthead prop Asenathi Ntlabakanye made his presence felt in Bok colours. The Boks, however, did not maintain their grip in that facet and the tourists grew stronger as the first half wore on. Melvyn Jaminet opened the visitors' score in the 65th minute — but by then the tourists' baabaalas was well in the making. Scorers Springboks (19) 54 - Tries: Malcolm Marx, Cheslin Kolbe, Vincent Tshituka (2), Kurt-Lee Arendse, Jan-Hendrik Wessels, Lood de Jager, Damian de Allende. Conversions: Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu (2), Manie Libbok (5). Barbarians (0) 7 - Try: Melvyn Jaminet. Conversion: Jaminet.

Teenage wonder boy Pretorius puts Proteas in charge with stunning 153
Lhuan-dre Pretorius showed why Shukri Conrad described him as a 'special' talent, becoming the seventh South African to score a hundred on his Test debut in Bulawayo on Saturday. In the process the 19-year-old, also became the youngest South African to score a Test century, surpassing the previous record, held by the legendary Graeme Pollock, which he set against Australia in 1964. Pretorius scored 153 off only 160 balls, rescuing the Proteas from a precarious position of 22/3 when he arrived at the crease. At stumps, the holders of the World Test Championship mace were 418/9, with Corbin Bosch completing his maiden Test hundred in the last over of the day. It was a remarkable turnaround by the South Africans whose stand-in captain Keshav Maharaj chose to bat, on a pitch he felt would help the seamers early before settling down later in the day. Maharaj was right, but he would not have anticipated how much his top order would struggle against high quality seam bowling from Blessing Muzarabani and Tanaka Chivanga. The latter picked up the first three wickets to fall, all caught in the slips, all of those dismissals the result of extra bounce Chivanga was able to extract with the new ball. Pretorius got his innings going with a straight six off the fourth ball he faced followed by a boundary that he thrashed through the covers off left-arm spinner Wellington Masakadza and began changing the impetus of the innings with his aggressive approach. A mix up with Wiaan Mulder, saw South Africa lose a fourth wicket before lunch, but after the interval Pretorius and his Titans teammate Dewald Brevis, who like Pretorius was making his debut, dominated.
