The proportion of cases exceeding the timeline for resolutions under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) reached 78 per cent in FY25, the highest since FY21, according to an analysis by India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra).
'Sustained delays and uncertainty over resolution under IBC could hinder deepening of bond markets, which, besides information asymmetry, are exposed to significant losses in the event of a default by an issuer, given their unsecured nature,' said Soumyajit Niyogi, Director – Core Analytical Group, Ind-Ra.

India Ratings affirms ratings of Polyplex Corporation with 'stable' outlook

Polyplex Corporation said that India Ratings and Research has affirmed the company's long-term rating at 'IND AA-' with 'stable' outlook. The agency has also affirmed the companys short-term rating at 'IND A1+. India Ratings and Research stated the affirmation reflects an improvement in the consolidated financial performance in FY25 while maintaining a strong credit profile, in line with the agencys expectations. The ratings continue to be supported by the companys strong position in the flexible packaging industry. The agency further said that developments that could, individually or collectively, lead to a positive rating action include an improvement in the scale and operating EBITDA, and maintaining the share of value-added products in the overall revenue and EBITDA mix, while maintaining the credit metrics on a sustained basis. However, delays, cost over-runs or a slower-than- expected ramp-up for new projects, a decline in the consolidated revenue or sustained deterioration in the operating EBITDA, large, debt-funded capex or acquisition, leading to sustained deterioration in the net leverage, and any adverse government regulatory action negatively impacting the sector could lead to an adverse rating action. Polyplex Corporation (PCL) has a product portfolio includes PET films (thin & thick), BOPP, cast polypropylene and blown polypropylene. These products are used in flexible packaging besides several industrial applications such as tapes, labels, thermal lamination, imaging and graphics, photo-voltaic and optical applications. The companys manufacturing facilities spread across India, the US, Thailand, Turkey and Indonesia. The scrip rose 0.21% to currently trade at Rs 1205.65 on the BSE.

Gautam Adani set to buy one more company, to pay Rs 125000000000 crore for THIS bankrupt business group, company is... Adani Group may soon buy another company and this time, the group has offered Rs. 12,500 crore to take over Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL), a company that is currently going through bankruptcy. According to a report by Business Standard , people familiar with the matter say that Adani Group is now the top bidder to buy JAL. Sources also shared that Adani has made a strong offer by promising to pay more than Rs. 8,000 crore in advance and that too without putting any conditions. Interestingly, Dalmia Group is also in the race to buy JAL. They are willing to match Adani's offer but only if a legal issue linked to JAL's Sports City project is resolved. That issue is still pending in the Supreme Court. Earlier, in March, the Allahabad High Court had already upheld a decision related to the same case. For now, Adani Group seems to be ahead in the bid to take over the troubled company. About Jaiprakash Associates? Jaiprakash Associates is a infrastructure company that works in different sectors like real estate, cement, power, and hotels. Right now, the company is facing a financial crisis and is going through bankruptcy under India's Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). Many big companies are interested in buying Jaiprakash Associates. Some of the well-known names in the race include Vedanta, Jindal Power, and PNC Infratech. All these companies took part in a meeting held on July 1, 2025, to discuss bids and valuations. Jaiprakash Associates released a statement saying that it is carefully reviewing all the offers to choose the best possible solution. While no final decision has been made yet, sources say that the Adani Group's offer of Rs. 12,500 crore is currently the most promising and puts them ahead of the others in the bidding process.
