Fresh Royal Caribbean cruise hell as passenger tumbles off infinity pool days after worker jumped to his death

Daily Mail8 hours ago
A Royal Caribbean cruise broke out in chaos as a passenger fell off the edge of an infinity pool days after a cruise line employee stabbed his coworker and jumped to his death.
Shocking video from aboard the Icon of the Seas cruise ship captured the moment a passenger flipped over the edge of the Hideaway Pool.
'Passenger falls while doing a handstand at the infinity pool,' the caption of the video shared Sunday reads.
The man strangely appeared to hit his own rear-end during the brief clip.
He then straightened his legs and tumbled over the barrier as onlookers squealed in horror.
It is unclear whether or not the man who toppled over was truly attempting a handstand or if he was reaching over the plexiglass for another reason.
The post claimed he fell to the deck below, but this is unlikely. The infinity pool is on Deck 15 and directly below it is the Splashaway Bay children's play area on Deck 7.
A fall this far would likely be fatal.
It is unconfirmed how far the man fell and where he landed, but as Cruise Hive noted, the passenger appeared to land in a narrow walkway area meant for staff only, which is also on Deck 15.
According to @onlyinfloridaa, the account who reposted the video from cruise ship passenger Luis Canedo, the man did not report any injuries.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Royal Caribbean for more information on the incident. Little else is known at the time.
Viewers were in utter disbelief of the video, with more than 4,200 commenters sharing their reactions to the jaw-dropping moment.
One person claimed he had been on the cruise and shared what he says happened.
'He feel into a space not open to the public,' they wrote. 'If he would have fallen over the railing he would have fallen to deck 5 in the kids splash area. That's 10 decks below!
'He was confined to his room after the incident and not let out until arriving back in Miami,' they claimed.

The Daily Mail has reached out to this user for further comment. It is unconfirmed what happened to the passenger after the video ended.
Others called out the passenger for the reckless and 'stupid' behavior that ultimately led to him falling.
It was a hectic few days for the staff and guests aboard the doomed Icon of the Seas, which returned to Miami on Saturday morning.
The voyage began on July 19, but erupted into mayhem on Thursday when a co-worker dispute turned fatal.
As the boat was sailing through Bahamas waters, an unidentified South African male crew member, 35, stabbed his 28-year-old coworker multiple times, according to the cruise line and the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
'One of the crew members was injured, [she] was attended to by the onboard medical team, and she is now in stable condition,' Royal Caribbean told Daily Mail in a statement.
'Unfortunately, the other crew member is deceased after he went overboard.'
The female employee, who is also South African, was treated for stab wounds and is 'presently in a stable condition', according to Superintendent Stephen Rolle.
The Icon of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world at nearly 1,200 feet long. It cost $2billion to build the vessel and was one of the most expensive ever.
It holds up to 7,600 passengers and weighs at about 250,800 tons.

Eddie Murphy says get-togethers with Martin Lawrence's family are ‘really normal' and not full of jokes

Comedians Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence have become in-laws after Murphy's son Eric married Lawrence's daughter Jasmin in May. Murphy joked that their potential grandchildren might be 'serious' rather than inheriting their comedic genes, despite public speculation. The couple opted for a quiet wedding with just the two of them, foregoing a large ceremony. Murphy and Lawrence have been friends for many years, having starred together in films like Boomerang and Life. Eric and Jasmin were introduced by Jasmin's uncle, not by their famous fathers, despite their fathers' long-standing friendship. Coyote Ugly sequel gets major update as Piper Perabo drives fans wild with hints 25 years after filming original movie

A sequel for Coyote Ugly is potentially in the works as an original cast member shared a major update, to the excitement of many longtime fans. Piper Perabo, who is known for portraying the protagonist Violet Sanford in the 2000 film, hinted at the possibility of a follow-up installment while attending San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend. The 48-year-old actress, who starred in Coyote Ugly when she was in her early 20s, hinted at a project being in the works and said there have been behind-the-scenes talks. 'There has been some discussion about that,' she told The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday. 'Some things are being discussed.' She continued mysteriously: 'I can't really say, but people that were doing it are talking about some stuff.' Her update comes less than a year after Perabo reunited with the ensemble cast to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Coyote Ugly with Tyra Banks, Maria Bello, Izabella Miko, Bridget Moynahan and Melanie Lynskey. When she was asked if talks about a second film was once again 'back on,' she responded, 'Among the necessary — and some people that were like, "Well, we don't necessarily need," they're like, "Oh, well I wanna be in it."' She added: 'So there's a lot of cooks in the kitchen right now, but things are moving around.' When asked if there was already a written script for Coyote Ugly 2, she only replied: 'I can't say anything about that.' Perabo added, 'But I will say that people that were integral to making it are in communication about how to do something more.' The actress previously starred in the the original movie, which was released in 2000. In the dramedy, she played aspiring songwriter Violet Sanford, who gets a job at the Coyote Ugly saloon to earn money as she pursues her music career. It's there that she meets Kevin O'Donnell (portrayed by Adam Garcia), and he helps her overcome her stage fright. However, her father (John Goodman) learns of her new job and disapproves of the environment at Coyote Ugly, and she ends up getting fired. He later gets involved in a car crash, and the scary experience gives him a new outlook, leading him to encourage his daughter to pursue her songwriting dreams. Despite having a relatively low budget and receiving mediocre reviews, Coyote Ugly was hit after grossing $113 million worldwide. In February, the cast reunited for a special screening and Q&A to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the movie's release. During the event, Banks said that the reunion was 'magical, wild, hilarious and deeply touching — just like the movie itself.' In her pre-screening remarks at the event, according to People, Bello praised Banks for her role in organizing the benefit. During the panel discussion, Miko recalled the intense rehearsals for the movie's elaborate dance numbers. 'It feels like it was months, but I don't know if it was months, but it was a long time,' she recalled. 'There was just not only the choreography, but also just dealing with fire and water elements. That was great.' Miko went on to say that she was 'so grateful' not to be among those who had to dance on the bar, which she called 'a nightmare.' Prior to the reunion, Bello teased that she hadn't 'seen some of those girls in 25 years' and was excited to see what would happen. Back in 2018, she teased that she was eager to reprise her role as the no-nonsense bartender. 'I'm dying to do Coyote Ugly 2,' the actress told People. 'I want to produce it — I just need to get the rights from Mr. Jerry Bruckheimer or work with him.'
