'This unusual dry shampoo kept my greasy hair looking clean for four days'

I had my doubts about trying this unusual 'wet' dry shampoo, but it stretched my hair style out for days and gave incredible volume, says beauty editor Laura Mulley
As someone with long, fine hair that's prone to looking greasy at the roots after a day, I always have a dry shampoo to hand; I use it on my roots on day two to allow me to wash my hair every two days instead of every day. I'm not particularly fussy about which one I use (I have blonde hair so the dustiness of some of the cheap formulas doesn't bother me), but I had serious doubts about an unusual one I tried recently – but I've been totally blown away buy how well it works.
The product in question is K18 AirWash Dry Shampoo, from the haircare brand best known for the K18 Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Mask. AirWash contains technology to lift and remove odours, and absorbs excess oil without leaving residue or irritating the scalp for, K18 claims, hair that looks fresher for up to three days.
The AirWash Dry Shampoo usually costs £48, but I've found it's currently cheapest on Face the Future, with 20% off, taking it down to £38.40. While I appreciate this is a lot of money for a dry shampoo – especially when you can buy ones for under £5 – here's why I've been so impressed with it, and why I think it's potentially worth your money...
I tried this out on an especially lazy bank holiday weekend, when I really couldn't be bother to wash my hair my usual regularity of every other day. As someone who hates putting unnecessary products in my hair for fear of making it even oilier-looking, when I first sprayed this into my roots, I was initially horrified: it felt wet – not the usual dry, powder feel I'm used to.
However, I had a little faith, and after a few seconds of rubbing it in, I couldn't believe the result. All dampness had disappeared, and my hair looked instantly fresher and cleaner. It also had the added bonus of giving my limp locks some much-needed volume, movement and grip without any heaviness or crispiness. It also didn't irritate or dry out my scalp at all – something I sometimes find with traditional dry shampoos. Using K18's AirWash, I was able to go four days without washing my hair, instead of my usual two.

My top tips for using this would be to try to avoid getting any on your face (as it will turn to powder), massage it in immediately, and use it sparingly – you really do only need the one spritz per section as recommended on the bottle. For this reason, this 118ml bottle will last me so much longer than my usual cheap and cheerful cans.
Of course, £38 is still a lot of money, and if you're looking for a slightly cheaper option that also really does feel like it 'cleans' the hair, Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo is another long-time favourite of mine, and currently down from £26.95 to £20.
And of course, there are also plenty of bargain dry shampoo buys, including Batiste and Klorane – but for long-lasting results on my fine, limp hair, I'm so impressed with this K18 one.

‘Divine' NEOM diffuser that ‘lasts for months' cheapest here with 37% off

NEOM makes some of our favourite body products and home fragrances, and we've found one of their gorgeous reed diffuser sets at its lowest price with £13 off for a limited time Looking for a great gift idea for a loved one? We think a posh scented reed diffuser will always go down well – and we've just spotted an excellent deal on a refill set from NEOM that shoppers say 'smells divine' and 'lasts months'. You can find NEOM's Perfect Night's Sleep 100ml Reed Diffuser Refill & Reeds, which usually retails for £35, discounted on a number of websites – including Lookfantastic and Face the Future – but you'll currently find it cheapest on Amazon, where it's down to £22.05 – a saving of over a third. It's from NEOM's own Amazon store too, and it has racked up hundreds of five-star reviews, so you can be sure that it's 100% genuine. The Perfect Night's Sleep fragrance contains a blend of English lavender, chamomile and patchouli to help you relax and unwind, and perhaps even sleep better – something that certainly could come in hand during this hot weather, when it can be tricky to sleep. "This is so effective for me for a good night's sleep, helping me drop off and keeping me relaxed and sleeping peacefully through the night," one customer wrote in the reviews section. "I bought the reed diffuser first and now just buy these refills. Highly recommended," referring to the fact that this bundle of reeds and oil is designed to be used to refill and existing diffuser. For the ultimate gift, NEOM has just launched these gorgeous new glass diffusers, or the original style one is currently reduced to £38.25 on Face the Future. Or, of course, you can use this NEOM refill in any other diffuser – or even a small bottle or jar. More people on Amazon have been praising its scent: "Lovely calming fragrance and I've definitely slept better for having it," one review reads. "Now on my list as a great gift." "As with all NEOM products this smells gorgeous – I use it in a diffuser in the bedroom and it contributes to a lovely relaxing atmosphere," wrote another person. Not everyone was completely convinced, however, that despite the lovely smell, it does help you sleep better: "I don't know if it really helps with sleep, but I absolutely love the fragrance and have the diffuser on a bedside table. I find it lasts 2-3 months," one shopper wrote. For more ways to sleep better in the hot weather, you might want to try a special cooling blanket, switching to a lighter summer duvet, or taking supplements such as these natural melatonin ones.

What to stock up on from REN Clean Skincare as brand announces imminent closure

With the recent sad news that popular beauty brand REN Clean Skincare will soon cease trading, here are the best products we recommend buying while you still can Beauty fans were heartbroken when, a few weeks ago, much-loved skincare brand REN Clean Skincare announced that, after 25 years in business, it will soon cease trading, citing "internal factors" and "market challenges" as the reason why. This came as sad news to fans of the brand who loved its iconic products such as Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic, Redness Relief Serum and their luxurious bath oils. The official word from Unilever, the company that owns REN, is that "there is no fixed date for final closure, but [they] expect to cease trading by the end of Q3 2025". This means that you've potentially only got a few months before your skincare favourites from the brand are no longer available to buy, and if you're dreading the thought of being without them, you might want to stock up. Here's what we'll be adding to our baskets now, while we still can... Best REN Clean Skincare products REN Clean Skincare Radiance Brightening Dark Circle Eye Cream Was £49, now £37 from Lookfantastic This is our beauty editor Laura Mulley's all-time favourite eye cream – and she's tried plenty over the years. " It's incredibly creamy and nourishing, which my dry eyes need, but also doesn't make my already-puffy eyes look even puffier and, although it won't have a dramatic impact on dark circles, feels like it's active enough to be actually doing something, and gives an instant illumination to the eye area. For me, it's the perfect formula." For an alternative, try Origins GinZing Brightening Eye Cream with Caffeine and Ginseng, £24. Was £30, now £23.60 from Boots Perhaps REN's most famous product, this is the OG of liquid exfoliators, an effective yet gentle combination of lactic acid (one of the more hydrating ones) and salicylic acid (great for unclogging pores). Expect brighter, more even-toned skin, both instantly and over time, while we know someone who swears by this for keeping adult acne at buy (just remember that, despite its name, you might not need to use an acid exfoliator every day). Once it's gone for good, you might also like Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 6% Mandelic + 2% Lactic Acid AHA Liquid Exfoliant, currently from £10.40. REN Clean Skincare Evercalm Overnight Balm Was £46, now £36.80 from Boots The whole Evercalm range is excellent for sensitive or compromised skin and this treatment balm, while too thick for most to use as a daily face cream, is a brilliant store cupboard essential for using on sore noses, chapped skin or after procedures such as laser. It instantly soothes and calms stressed skin. We wouldn't recommend putting this over your whole face, but CeraVe Advanced Repair Ointment, currently £9.20, is a great standby for dry lips and small patches of skin. REN Clean Skincare Bio Retinoid Youth Cream Was £54, now £43.20 from Boots If you can't – or don't want to – use retinol, this anti-ageing cream contains a plant-derived alternative, with testers reporting firmer and more supple skin after using this for 28 days. There's also an excellent serum in the range and, for dry skin, an oil (Medik8's Bakuchiol Peptides, £55, is similar).
