American Idol boss killed inside LA mansion
Police reportedly saw blood at the front entrance of the couple's $AU7.5 million Encino home on Monday afternoon after they arrived to conduct a welfare check.
After breaking a window to enter the six-bedroom property, officers discovered the couple with possible gunshot wounds to their heads, according to TMZ.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and declared the couple dead.
The disturbing development follows a previous incident in which police were called to the residence after reports of an attempted break-in. It remains unclear whether that case is connected to the double homicide.
Ms Kaye was the music supervisor on American Idol for at least 15 seasons and won several Guild of Music Supervisor Awards for her work on the popular show.
She was also the music supervisor on Lip Sync Battle.

Sophia was a big part of her life." Sophia took over managing Caitlyn's career in 2017 following the reality star's divorce from Kris Jenner. She appeared in her reality show I am Cait and even lived with the star at her Malibu home. Sophia explained the career move in an interview with the New York Times in 2019, insisting she just wanted to protect her friend at a vulnerable time in her life. She told the publication: "I saw nobody was managing her, and there were all these people taking massive advantage. "And I was saying: 'Caitlyn, if I don't step in here and start managing you, you're going to go broke'. "Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship."

‘American Idol' boss Robyn Kaye, husband executed in their $7 million home in gory double murder
A boss on 'American Idol' and her husband were executed in a suspected double murder inside their $4.5 million ($6.9 million AUD) Los Angeles home, cops said. Robin Kaye, an award-winning music supervisor for the hit competition show, was found slaughtered along with her musician husband, Thomas Deluca, after an apparent break-in at their house in the upscale Encino neighborhood, a Los Angeles Police Department source told TMZ. Both were 70. The couple's bodies were found during a 'welfare check' Monday afternoon after they had not been heard from in four days, the LAPD said. Both victims had what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head. 'There is no suspect information at this time. LAFD responded and pronounced the victims deceased at scene. The motive is unknown. The investigation is ongoing,' the department told The Post. Kaye was found dead in the pantry, and Deluca in the bathroom, NBC Los Angeles reported. Officers also found blood in the entryway and a broken window, which the killer possibly used to get inside. The home was apparently not ransacked, pointing away from the possibility of a burglary, authorities told TMZ. Aerial footage of the house from ABC 7 showed what looked like a smashed sliding glass door. The cops were called to the house on Thursday after neighbors spotted a suspicious person hopping the fence, but officers found no evidence of foul play. 'We didn't see or hear anything. My renter called 911 on Thursday because she saw somebody hopping the fence,' neighbor Amee Faggen told ABC 7. Kaye had worked on American Idol for 15 seasons, according to her IMDB page, and won several Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. Neighbors in the Encino neighborhood told NBC Los Angeles that they've been plagued by frequent break-ins and burglaries over the years.
