I've lost 4st 6lbs WITHOUT Mounjaro – I don't count calories & still have fizzy drinks, but here's 10 things I swear by

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A YOUNG woman has never counted calories and still guzzles fizzy drinks, but has been able to lose 4 stone 6 lbs. In just six months, Ellie Hornett, the self-proclaimed 'professional yapper,' shifted the weight without using Mounjaro and has now revealed the 10 things she swears by to slim down. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 An influencer has revealed that in just six months, she lost 4 stone 6 lbs without using fat jabs Credit: TikTok/@elliehornettx 2 Ellie Hornett got candid on her impressive weight loss and claimed that she still drinks fizzy drinks and eats chocolate Credit: TikTok/@elliehornettx So if you're struggling to lose weight and don't want to rely on fat jabs, then you've come to the right place. Posting on social media, the 5ft 1inch blonde beauty, who topped the scales at 12 stone 6 lbs in November 2024 but since May 2025 weighs just 8 stone, got candid on 'healing her relationship with food' and shared exactly how many steps she does every single day to stay looking trim. Never counting calories In a short clip uploaded online, Ellie got candid on her weight loss and revealed that the first piece of advice she swears by is to never count calories but instead, to be calorie mindful. She said: 'I've never counted calories, I wanted it to be sustainable and that won't be sustainable for me, I do portion control and be calorie mindful - I don't cut out any food groups, if I want to have chocolate I will, I'll just have it in a smaller portion.' Healthy mindset Secondly, Ellie stressed the importance of learning about food groups and grasping a healthy mindset. But having said this, she claimed adopting this mentality can be 'the hardest thing' for many. Start as you mean to go on Additionally, Ellie starts the day off as she means to go on and instead of downing hot chocolates and chomping on croissants first thing in the morning, she has green tea and water, to encourage healthy habits throughout the day. Fasting Not only this, but the fourth piece of advice Ellie lives by is having a smaller window of eating. The influencer recognised that she doesn't start eating until 2pm, as she acknowledged that once she starts, she 'won't stop.' Get moving Not only this, but exercise is key for Ellie, as she shared her fifth and vital part of weight loss. I'm a 'former fatty' who lost 12 stone WITHOUT jabs - being slim means I don't have to eat in the car to avoid judgement She added: 'Walking is what really did it for me - obviously exercise is so tailored to your lifestyle - I unintentionally do 20,000 steps a day because I've got a manual job.' Ellie claimed that she tried going to the gym but was left feeling 'burnt out.' However, the weight started 'falling off' her when she increased her steps from 10,000 to 20,000 a day. Zero calorie fizzy drinks As well as walking, Ellie also praised Coke Zero as a helping hand in her weight loss. She claimed that every time she wants a sweet treat, she will instead ship a zero calorie drink to help her 'look past' her cravings. Stay hydrated And not only does she like a fizzy drink from time to time, but she also drinks lots of water too. Once you start looking after yourself and putting yourself at number one, it will equate to all aspects of your life Ellie Hornett Eating right Following this, Ellie revealed her eighth piece of advice, as she stressed: 'Don't eat too little - when I first started my weight loss journey I had such a low food intake, I was angry, irritable and wasn't moving as much, but when I started eating more and the right stuff with the right nutrients, I started moving more and it actually started falling off quicker than when I was eating less.' Push the plate back Ellie then explained how learning to 'push the plate back' has also helped her to lose weight. The NHS 12-step plan to help you lose weight FROM faddy diets to dodgy detoxes - most of us have heard it all before when it comes to weight loss. But burning fat can be easy and mostly free. In fact, the NHS has a whole load of medically-approved tips for weight loss and shedding body fat once and for all... Don't skip breakfast Skipping breakfast will not help you lose weight. You could miss out on essential nutrients and you may end up snacking more throughout the day because you feel hungry. Eat regular meals Eating at regular times during the day helps burn calories at a faster rate. It also reduces the temptation to snack on foods high in fat and sugar. Eat plenty of fruit and veg Fruit and veg are low in calories and fat, and high in fibre – 3 essential ingredients for successful weight loss. They also contain plenty of vitamins and minerals. Get more active Being active is key to losing weight and keeping it off. As well as providing lots of health benefits, exercise can help burn off the excess calories you cannot lose through diet alone. Drink lots of water People sometimes confuse thirst with hunger. You can end up consuming extra calories when a glass of water is really what you need. Eat high fibre foods Foods containing lots of fibre can help keep you feeling full, which is perfect for losing weight. Fibre is only found in food from plants, such as fruit and veg, oats, wholegrain bread, brown rice and pasta, and beans, peas and lentils. Read food labels Knowing how to read food labels can help you choose healthier options. Use the calorie information to work out how a particular food fits into your daily calorie allowance on the weight loss plan. Use a smaller plate Using smaller plates can help you eat smaller portions. By using smaller plates and bowls, you may be able to gradually get used to eating smaller portions without going hungry. It takes about 20 minutes for the stomach to tell the brain it's full, so eat slowly and stop eating before you feel full. Don't ban foods Do not ban any foods from your weight loss plan, especially the ones you like. Banning foods will only make you crave them more. There's no reason you cannot enjoy the occasional treat as long as you stay within your daily calorie allowance. Don't stock junk food To avoid temptation, do not stock junk food – such as chocolate, biscuits, crisps and sweet fizzy drinks – at home. Instead, opt for healthy snacks, such as fruit, unsalted rice cakes, oat cakes, unsalted or unsweetened popcorn, and fruit juice. Cut down on alcohol A standard glass of wine can contain as many calories as a piece of chocolate. Over time, drinking too much can easily contribute to weight gain. Plan your meals Try to plan your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for the week, making sure you stick to your calorie allowance. You may find it helpful to make a weekly shopping list. 'It took me so long to unlearn the behaviour of eating everything just because it's on my plate - if I'm genuinely hungry obviously eat the lot, but I've now learnt if I'm not hungry I'm just eating it because it's there,' she shared. Put yourself first Finally, this content creator stressed the importance of taking care of yourself and putting yourself first, as she concluded: ' Once you start looking after yourself and putting yourself at number one, it will equate to all aspects of your life.' Social media users react Ellie's TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @elliehornettx, has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up 83,700 views, 4,916 likes and 145 comments. Social media users were gobsmacked by Elie's jaw-dropping weight loss and many eagerly raced to the comments to express this. Stunning before, stunning after TikTok user One person said: 'Omg you look unreal!' Another added: 'You look brilliant.' A third commented: 'You look amazing!' Meanwhile, someone else gushed: 'Stunning before, stunning after.' Unlock even more award-winning articles as The Sun launches brand new membership programme - Sun Club
