Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause has hit back at the Golden Bachelor after he expressed a preference for women under 60 without 'artificial hips.' The 43 year old reality star didn't hold back in expressing her thoughts on 66 year old Mel Owens' criteria for his ideal woman.
'We love the Golden Bachelor because of how wholesome it is,' the Selling Sunset star penned in her Instagram Stories on Thursday, adding, 'This type of energy will ruin it.'
The drama unfolded when Owens, a former NFL player, discussed the casting process for the women who would compete for his heart on the MGoBlue podcast released on June 4.
In a tale recounted on the episode, the ex-linebacker shared the story that ruffled Stause's feathers. During a meeting with The Bachelor producers, Owens disclosed: 'They ask me, 'What's your preference?' So I just said [ages] 45 to 60, just being honest,' he admitted.
However, while dining with the show's executive producer, he reconsidered and stated, 'You know, if they're 60 or over, I'm cutting them.'
When reminded of the show's title, The Golden Bachelor, Owens recalled being told, ''You can't use the word cut.'
'I go, 'Well, that's an NFL term,'' he responded. He then outlined his additional expectations for the women. 'Try to stay away from the artificial hips and the wigs, you know, that kind of stuff, right?'
Stause isn't the only one voicing her disapproval. A multitude of franchise fans have expressed their strong opinions on his comments.
'Based on his podcast interview I won't be watching or supporting. We need to stop supporting men who think they're so great that they won't date women their own age. This bloke needs to go back home,' one fan penned. Another said: 'I'm done with this franchise if you move forward with him. Have some respect for women.'
A third commented: ''This is so sad. I can't believe TPTB knew this man didn't want a golden lady and cast him anyway. So misogynistic to say no wigs or women over 60. Please replace him for someone who appreciates women of a certain age, which is the entire point of this show.'
Chrishell is known for her role on Netflix's Selling Sunset and her cast mate Nicole Young has just finished filming the latest series of the Netflix hit - and she spilled a number of filming secrets to the Mirror including her feud with Chrishell.
Nicole, 39, first appeared on the reality series in 2022, joining in season six. Since then, fans have watched as she has sold some of the hottest properties in California. But it's been her ongoing feud with fellow realtor Chrishell Stause that has had viewers invested.
Now, in an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Nicole has spilled the tea on what goes on behind the scenes and explained her view of what happened between her and her co-star. Nicole claimed the cast have "zero control" over what they film, or who they film with. She told us: "We have zero control over what we film, who we film with, or what topics of discussion are 'needed' by production for each filmed scene.
"Unfortunately, we are held accountable by the public for what is and isn't filmed or shown, but that has never been something we have any control over."
Opening up on the on-screen drama with Chrishell, she went on to claim: "Chrishell is incredibly astute at manipulating people and representing herself as a perpetual victim while being a snarling wolf in real life.
"The most current feud between her and I that plays out in season 9 is a result of me finally snapping back to her constant and continual jabs and baseless accusations while holding up a mirror to the deep-rooted real source of her issues."

The printout – also finished with a hand drawn heart – reveals Holliday was apparently feeling the shadow of something not unfamiliar to women living with a hugely successful divorced man… the former wife. Large parts focus on Belichick's ex Debby, the mother of his three children, who is mentioned in less than flattering terms for her continued center place in the life of a legend now coaching the University of North Carolina. On the surface, the couple's existence together appeared ideal as Holliday staunchly supported Belichick at Patriots games and he devoted time to her extensive breast cancer research charity work. In 2019, she gushed to CBS Boston in a TV interview at the team's Gillette Stadium about her life with the coach and manager, whose foundation she co-founded in 2013. Holliday – a former beauty pageant contestant like Belichick's new amore Hudson – discussed his 'softer side'. Bill Belichick's much younger girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, delivered a scathing message to his ex-girlfriend after finding a private email between the exes Beaming, she said: 'It doesn't take much to make him smile actually. 'In 12 years together, Bill has been so dynamic supporting the causes that are close to me and actually supporting me. And I value and love that about him.' However she then chided Belichick over her feelings of being shut out of crucial parts of his personal life. A particular target was mom-of-three Debby, 69, who she appears to describe cryptically as 'what's her name that I'm not allowed to speak of ever' – before blasting Belichick for buying three houses with his ex that year. 'I just feel like I'm the one that loves and adores you and respects you and tries never to ask too much of you and tries to ALWAYS remind you how grateful I am of your love,' Holliday implored. But then added: 'I'm the disposable one.' In further desperate tones, she said: 'There are so many things I'm just not allowed to talk to you about. I'm left with writing these things down because I can't verbally talk to you about it. 'You ALWAYS throw it back in my face and say 'I'm sorry you don't think that I do enough for you' and that is the end of the conversation. Since you are tight with Ms Holiday (sic), could you please ask her what she would like me to do with this letter I found from 2015? 'Due to its pathetic and embarrassing content, I imagine she wants it back.' Mocking 'delusional' Holliday further, she denied playing any part in their break-up. Hudson – whose controlling antics with Belichick include a train-wreck CBS interview that went viral – wrote: 'She should make the point to burn it so she continue to live in delusional denial (that her relationship with BB wasn't doomed yeaaaaars prior to him finally dumping her.) 'I know she cares a great deal to continue to manipulate her friends, as well as the public, into believing that I came in and ruined her perfect relationship.' Holliday would not give a comment to the Daily Mail when asked about the letter and Hudson's views. Hudson has also declined to comment. Meanwhile, the pair reportedly clashed on exclusive Nantucket, where Holliday remains a stalwart on the island's social scene and enjoys a $4.8million home bought by Belichick. She also has a $4.2million spread in Jupiter, Florida. TMZ said she asked organizers of a Christmas party on the island last year to remove Hudson from the venue because her daughters Ashley and Kat were the DJs – and her presence was 'inappropriate'. Holliday was later seen on security video 'confronting' Hudson in the middle of the dance floor according to documents, added the outlet. Hudson was reported to have left as the event was nearing its end. Hudson and Belichick have caused a storm since their relationship was revealed in 2024, following their first meeting on a flight to Florida in 2021. They reportedly stayed in touch and got together after he split from Holliday. The most dramatic example has been of the astonishing gatecrashing of Belichick's interview with CBS in April, intended as a showpiece moment to plug his book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football. The coach meekly accepted Hudson's interventions from the sidelines as host Tony Dokoupil tried to make headway. At one point she refused to let Belichick answer a question about how they first met. It was also reported she stormed out of the room and delayed filming for 30 minutes. A string of other sensational incidents have also emerged, threatening to overshadow Belichick's first season in charge at UNC. In one, Hudson made a startling appearance at a North Carolina practice session. Talking with her lover on the field, she looked dramatically – and out of place – glam in a white turtleneck top, snakeskin printed minted miniskirt with matching trench coat and white boots. Prior to that, it was reported Belichick had requested Hudson be copied in on all UNC emails sent his way, Such was the impact of her presence on the field, that a Tar Heels blog of sports site SB Nation had the headline: 'UNC is reportedly concerned about Jordon Hudson's involvement with the program.' In an attempt to stifle such talk, newly-leaked emails by Belichick to a UNC official reveal him writing: 'Jordon has zero involvement in the UNC football program, beyond the degree that my personal media intersects with it.' However, they also reportedly also reveal the extent of her involvement in his media relationships, partially explaining the CBS debacle. In one email obtained by WRAL, he is reportedly wrote: 'Jordon and I have both a personal & professional relationship. This is not a secret. Jordon assists me with my personal media, which is why I asked UNC to forward media requests (eg. CBS 60 Minutes) to her.' He also defended Hudson's refusal to let the book interview stray into personal matters – and additionally confirmed their first meeting was four years ago. 'I met Jordon randomly on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021,' he wrote. 'That is no secret. Jordon was not dodging the specific question regarding how we met, but rather was preventing the interview from continuing to probe into personal matters. Viewers of Netflix 's 'Poop Cruise' reacted with horror as a chef onboard the stranded ship described the clogged toilets on the doomed liner. The revolting documentary had audiences hooked as it covered the disastrous February 2013 voyage of the Carnival Triumph, which experienced an electrical fire on day four that knocked out all power, leading to the vessel being stuck out at sea for five days. What was supposed to be a pleasant four-day trip throughout the Gulf of Mexico quickly turned into a nightmare as the ship was plunged into darkness and toilets and air conditioning stopped working. The crew begged all 4,000 passengers to use red biohazard bags when they had to go number two and pee in the showers so the urine would drain away, but as multiple witnesses attested, many just continued to defecate down unflushable toilets. Fittingly, Abhi, a chef unlucky enough to be working on the Triumph, used a food analogy to paint a picture of what the toilets looked like. 'People were pooping on top of toilet paper, then pooping on top of that. It was layer after layer after layer. It was like a lasagna,' he said. At the end of the documentary, Abhi said he's 'never looked at lasagna the same way'. It's safe to say that Abhi's dreadfully vivid description has turned others off from the classic Italian dish as well. Most people were repulsed by the chef's unfortunately vivid description of the bathrooms 'Thanks for ruining lasagna for me, @netflix,' one person wrote on X. 'My friend was like 'tell me when you get to the lasagna part' and I didn't know what she meant but now I do,' another said. Others could not hold back their revulsion, with one woman writing: 'I'm finna throw up. This man said it was so much s**t and toilet paper in the damn toilets it was like a lasagna.' Others still found Abhi's description hilarious, even impressive. 'The chef has stolen the show,' one wrote, while another said, '2025 has a new Goat [Greatest of All Time].' The documentary was released on Tuesday as an episode in the running Netflix series 'Trainwreck,' which has looked at several different disasters. Past episodes covered the crowd crush at Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival and Woodstock '99, a music festival in upstate New York tainted by sexual violence and inadequate sanitation. Viewers of the 'Poop Cruise' episode were particularly horrified at how quickly social order broke down once it became clear the ship wasn't going anywhere. Passengers on the ship told the show that people were hurling bags of feces, having sex out on the pool deck, and hoarding food once supplies began to run low. Makeshift tent cities sprang up because there was no air conditioning in the ship. People dragged their mattresses out to the top and used their sheets to create shade for themselves. This mad dash led to fights over space on the deck. 'Watching the 'poop cruise' documentary makes me realize how much I don't like people,' one person wrote. Viewers were also irked by the 'privileged' behavior of some passengers. A trio of women on a bachelorette party for their friend, Ashley, drew the wrath of many of those watching as they seemed more interested in getting drunk and continuing their celebrations even as anarchy washed over the entire ship. '(They) HAVE to know how absolutely annoying and obnoxious they look in this documentary. Don't care about anything else besides getting a Margarita,' one person wrote. 'Tweedle dee. Tweedle dumb. And tweedle dumber.' One person compared the frenzied actions of the passengers to how Fyre Festival attendees responded when they found out the event was a complete fraud. 'I'm a bit embarrassed to say I enjoyed the same righteous indignation watching the #poopcruise as I did watching the #FyreFestival debacle,' someone said. 'Watching entitled, not-too-smart people go off the rails when there is no danger, but merely discomfort, is a #guiltypleasure.' 'Stoked they all got stuck on a s**t boat s****ing in bags and covered in s**t. Insufferable humans.' NFL fans hail 'incredible' Jason Kelce over $1million charity gesture after Eagles legend's Speedo dance
Jason and Kylie Kelce has been widely praised after helping raise more than $1million for the Eagles Autism Foundation.
