Lionel Messi left shell-shocked as Inter Miami THUMPED by old team PSG in front of owner David Beckham at Club World Cup

LIONEL MESSI was left shell-shocked in front of Inter Miami owner David Beckham at the Club World Cup. Messi saw himself 4-0 down at half-time against his former side Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. 2 Joao Neves scored the first two goals, heading home unmarked inside six minutes before finishing off a lovely team move in the 39th minute. And Inter Miami's naive hopes of a miracle were soon dashed when Tomas Aviles' own goal saw the MLS side capitulate on the stroke of half-time. Meanwhile, Achraf Hakimi piled on the misery in the third minute of first-half injury time. As the Moroccan full-back, widely regarded as the best in the world in his position was celebrating, Messi looked up to the scoreboard in complete disbelief. And while Beckham was celebrating his former club's Champions League win in Germany last month, he looked more stern during the battering while wearing his arm in a sling. The Argentine footie legend, 38, was sent a brutal warning by the French press ahead of his reunion with PSG. French newspaper L'Equipe plastered a picture of Messi on the front page with the tagline: "Messi… not all is forgiven." The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner left PSG in 2023 on a free transfer once his contract in the French capital expired. 2 During his time with the club, he formed one-third of the exciting attacking trio alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. But, he wasn't a fan favourite in France, as PSG failed to secure the Champions League trophy despite having the most prolific front three in Europe. He caused further upset in the country as he played a crucial role in France 's World Cup heartbreak in 2022. The world of motocross is in mourning after the death of one of its rising stars at the age of just 16. Aidan Zingg, from Hemet, California, was crowned national champion in 2024, and was signed to Kawasaki's young driver program amid a promising start to his career. According to multiple reports, Zingg died on Saturday as a result of injuries suffered in a crash while competing at Mammoth Mountain MX in his home state. No further details are yet available about the crash or cause of death. The news was first shared online by fellow Motocross rider Kris Keefer, who posted a story about meeting Zingg to his Instagram page, adding: 'Our hearts hurt so much for the Zingg family and they are heavy on our minds. 'He impacted so many people because of the home he was built from and for the young man he was.' Per reports, Zingg had recently qualified for the AMA Amateur Motocross National Championship for the seventh straight year, and was set to return after being crowned winner in the Supermini 2 (13-16) class in 2024. He had signed with Team Green Kawasaki for the 2025 racing season and was set to make a big step up in his promising fledgling career. A motocross reporter, who was present at Mammoth Mx over the weekend, wrote on Instagram: 'Yesterday here at the Mammoth Mx Aiden Zingg was on the podium and when Chris interviewed him the first thing he said was 'I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ'… Today the Lord called him home, we are broken.'

Lionel Messi humiliated by his former club as Champions League winners PSG score FOUR before half-time against David Beckham's Inter Miami at Club World Cup

Lionel Messi 's reunion with Paris Saint-Germain quickly descended into a humiliating rout on Sunday as his Inter Miami side conceded four goals before half time. Miami, who were given a special invite to the Club World Cup by FIFA after winning Major League Soccer 's Supporters' Shield earlier this year, had made an impressive start to the tournament in the United States. Messi and Co qualified from Group A without losing once. They drew 0-0 with Al Ahly before beating Porto 2-1. Miami then played out a 2-2 draw with Palmeiras. That draw against Palmeiras saw Miami made a brilliant start by taking a 2-0 lead. However, they made a terrible start against the champions of Europe in Sunday's round of 16 contest.
