Television Debut of Cosmic Launcher Swing Set Marks a Major Milestone for the Family-Owned Brand Amid Nationwide Growth
CHESTER COUNTY, Pa., May 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- King Swings, the nation's leading family-owned vinyl swing sets and playhouse brand, is thrilled to announce its Cosmic Launcher Swing Set was featured on season six, episode 606 of HGTV's Rock the Block: Rookies vs Vets on Monday, May 19.
Hosted by Ty Pennington, the series features a competition between top HGTV designers. The designers have limited time and a designated budget to renovate four blank-slate homes on the same block in Utah with their signature styles. The purpose is to add the most value to each home to achieve a high appraisal. Winning designers earn bragging rights and a street named in their honor.
In Episode 606, the competition shifted to the backyard. Chelsea and Cole DeBoer—rookies on the block, but seasoned parents of four—designed their outdoor space with families in mind.
"We know what a family wants in a backyard," said Chelsea. "I want to do the biggest playset we can find."
To bring that vision to life, the DeBoers partnered with King Swings, known for premium, custom-designed vinyl swing sets made in the USA. Built for lasting backyard memories, King Swings' luxury sets were a perfect match for the DeBoers' bold, family-focused design.
They selected the Cosmic Launcher, one of King Swings' largest and most dynamic sets. Designed with something for everyone, the set features four slides, a crawl tunnel connecting a ball pit and clubhouse, swings, monkey bars, a cargo net, and easy access points. Clear plastic tops on the sidewinder slide and tunnel add a unique visual appeal, while a railed-in area enhances functionality and charm.
As King Swings continues on its mission to inspire adventure and memories, the Rock the Block feature marks a major milestone of growth for the brand. From residential swing sets to fully customizable playgrounds made with premium American-made materials, King Swings proudly offers complete layouts for families across the country. The brand has even built sets for local and international celebrities, professional athletes, including the Philadelphia Eagles players, which selected King Swings for their families.
"As King Swings continues its mission to inspire adventure, creativity, and lasting memories, this HGTV feature marks a meaningful milestone," said Elmer King, CEO of King Swings. "We've always believed in building playsets that spark imagination and joy. Seeing one of our sets on Rock the Block was a proud and surreal moment for our team."
"Being featured on Rock the Block is more than recognition—it's a reflection of how far we've come and where we're headed," King adds. "We're honored to be part of family backyards coast to coast."

Tom Cruise Posts Emotional Throwback to Iconic NASCAR Film Amid Sequel Rumors

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Hollywood star Tom Cruise has posted an emotional throwback to the iconic NASCAR-based movie Days of Thunder on X,celebrating 35 years on June 27, the day he partnered with the late director Tony Scott. Coincidentally, the anniversary also marked the release of another action-packed racing movie - F1, produced by Cruise's friend, Jerry Bruckheimer. Cruise started a thread on X with throwback pictures from his Days of Thunder days, and ended by congratulating Bruckheimer, Brad Pitt, and F1 director Joseph Kosinski. His role in Days of Thunder was that of a young driver, Cole Trickle, who was new to racing. However, a rivalry sparked between him and a veteran driver, which grew into a friendship after the two were involved in a major crash. Paramount Pictures/Sunset Boulevard/Corbis/Getty Images Revealing his love for racing movies, Cruise wrote on X: "I always love the fun and adrenaline of a racing film. Today marks two racing milestones for my friend Jerry Bruckheimer, the release of F1 and the 35 year anniversary to the day of our collaboration with the great Tony Scott on Days of Thunder." I always love the fun and adrenaline of a racing film. Today marks two racing milestones for my friend Jerry Bruckheimer, the release of F1 and the 35 year anniversary to the day of our collaboration with the great Tony Scott on Days of Thunder. 1/7 — Tom Cruise (@TomCruise) June 27, 2025 While Cruise congratulated the crew of F1, former NASCAR driver and chairman of Hendrick Motorsports, Jeff Gordon, suggested there will be a sequel to Days of Thunder starring Cruise. Gordon believes NASCAR needs a Hollywood boost to expand its reach to the masses. Considering the rise of streaming platforms, Gordon emphasized that this is the right time to produce Days of Thunder 2. Newsweek Sports reported his comments: "Let's do Days of Thunder 2, I am all for that. Tom Cruise has told me it's gonna happen, so let's make it happen. I can't go back to driving, I am too old for that, so gonna have to be one of our four or all four of our Hendrick drivers, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, William Byron. When I came into NASCAR, Days of Thunder had just come out. It played a huge role in the growth of NASCAR. So let's bring it back." He added: "I've absolutely talked to Tom about it because I want him to do the project, and we want to be a part of it if it were to happen." Explaining why this is the perfect time to work on a NASCAR-based movie, he said: "There's this kind of resurgence, which is awesome, and there's also a whole new landscape of opportunities with streaming services and docuseries and also the big screen, which I think it would be amazing to do. "I am seeing just a lot more momentum in projects like this coming through NASCAR and coming to Hendrick Motorsports and just more interest. So that's good, right? It talks a lot about where the sport is at, where it's heading, the amazing crowd that was [at Daytona], not just today, new TV partners."

Disrupt-Connect: The Sculpture Walk 'Mr. Joy's Surprise' An 18 th -century child's wardrobe in the form of a doll's house Made in England by Edmund Joy in 1709 166 x 146 x 66 cm ; 65 ¼ x 57 ½ x 26 in © Thomas Coulborn & Sons Ltd, UK Curated by Dr. Melissa L. Gustin of National Museums Liverpool, the Sculpture Walk spans three centuries and features 27 works–from a whimsical 1709 wardrobe sculpture named Mr. Joy's Surpri se, to Jill Berelowitz's monumental bronze Majesty artichokes and Massimiliano Pelletti's classically inspired sculptures with a contemporary twist–and leads visitors through the fair and out into the historic gardens of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Dr. Melissa L. Gustin told me at the preview of the fair: 'The earliest sculpture on the walk is Mr. Joy's Surpri se, which is a children's wardrobe from 1709. A lot of people are questioning why it's in a sculpture walk when it's a utilitarian artwork. The reason is that if an object is beautiful and it's in a human home, and made by humans, why is it not sculpture. We've taken that attitude all the way through, putting Antique sculptures next to contemporary artists, with the idea that they connect to humans through many centuries. The antique artworks are here because they still connect to humans, and the contemporary artworks are here because we hope they will connect to future generations. Mr. Joy's Surprise is signed Edmund Joy 1709 on the back, and the only other one that's been found is in the V&A collection. They are both based on Kew Palace, which took its inspiration from Dutch Architecture. Gladiatore Borghese, 2025 by Massimiliano Pelletti, brought to the Sculpture Walk by Bowman Sculpture © Treasure House Fair Dr Gustin includes in her personal highlights Mr Joy's Surprise and also explains: 'Another highlight is Massimiliano Pelletti's sculpture, which is placed right at the entrance to the fair. Pelletti has reimagined the Gladiatore Borghese from ancient times to today. Pelletti's Grandfather restored Michelangelo's David , and he is making work in the same studio. So it represents those connections through time.' Henrik Godsk's Folkloric Modernism Henrik Godsk at Vigo Gallery © Lee Sharrock Danish artist Henrik Godsk fuses early 20th-century Cubism with carnival aesthetics in his bold, stylised portraits. Influenced by his heritage as a seventh-generation fairground traveller, Godsk's works–on display at Vigo gallery–are rich in geometric precision, cultural memory, and a playful tension between handcraft and modernist form. Geometric lines and flattened fields of colour are infused with influences of Modigliani and Russian avant‑garde art, combined with decorative patterns inspired by Godsk's upbringing in the fairground community. Bahraini Abstraction by Rashid al Khalifa Rashid al Khalifa at De Musson Lee Sharrock Representing Bahrain with a solo booth at De Musson, Rashid al Khalifa presents abstract, mirrored paintings with a modernist edge. Known for blending tradition with futuristic geometry, al Khalifa's work adds a distinctive voice to the fair's contemporary offerings. De Musson founder Clementine Perrins told me at the fair: 'I met Rashid 13 years ago and have created bespoke exhibitions for him in the UK, we have worked with Treasure House to showcase his work to a wider audience.' Modernism in Tapestry: Pop Art Meets Aubusson Modern Masters Tapestries booth at Treasure House Fair. Photographed by Lee Sharrock © Lee Sharrock Modern Masters Tapestries showcases vibrant works by icons such as Tom Wesselmann, Joan Miró, Victor Vasarely, Sonia Delaunay, and Alexander Calder. These handwoven pieces, presented by BOCCARA Gallery, celebrate the enduring legacy of Aubusson weaving through the lens of 20th-century art movements. Whether you're drawn to cosmic relics, royal curiosities, or cutting-edge contemporary art, the Treasure House Art Fair 2025 offers a compelling cross-section of global creativity and timeless craftsmanship—all under one elegant Chelsea roof.

Inside Rihanna and Son Riot's Big Night at A$AP Rocky's AWGE Fashion Show

THE RUNDOWN On Friday, Rihanna supported her partner, A$AP Rocky, at his AWGE fashion show during Paris Men's Fashion Week. By her side all night was their youngest son, Riot Rose, looking as fashionable as his mom and dad. The two parents have a second son, RZA, and are expecting a third child. As always, Rihanna leaned into her unique maternity style, wearing a loose button-down shirt in a blue and red stripe pattern that opened over her belly. She paired it with a pleated black miniskirt, accessorizing with white pointed-toe heels with criss-crossed laces over tall gray socks. She left her long hair down in gentle waves and wore a number of different chains and pendants of different lengths. Riot was wearing purple joggers and a denim jacket featuring a Harley Davidson and American flag patch over a white T-shirt. On his feet were a pair of black, red, and white Vans sneakers. The proud mom kept her son on her knee in the front row throughout the show. Before the family night, Rihanna and Rocky were seen at Dior's Homme men's spring 2026 show, again seated in the front row. Rihanna wore a black cape-style coat covered in gorgeous embroidery, over a pale green vest and white button-down. She paired it with gray pants and accessorized with yellow sunglasses and jewelry pieces by Briony Raymond and Marlo Laz. Rocky wore a bright red, green, and blue tie over a gray button-down and a pair of jeans, carrying a tan bag covered in fringe tassels. The couple confirmed their third pregnancy at the Met Gala in May. Rihanna told Entertainment Tonight at the time, 'I'm good. I'm shockingly feeling OK and not too overwhelmed at the moment. I mean, at first it was kinda like, 'Ah!' And I'm tired, but then I'm excited.'
