After the championship, which took place in Kuwait from May 5-11, Fadhel Al-Nimr, head of the Arab Handball Federation (AHF), praised Kuwait for its excellent organization of the tournament, recognizing the country as a leader in hosting such Arab sporting events. Al-Nimr also credited Kuwait's political leadership for its strong support of sports, thanking Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports Bashar Abdullah, and all officials involved in making the championship a success.
Talal Al-Otaibi, a member of the AHF's Executive Bureau and the Kuwait Handball Association, also commended the organizers and the enthusiastic support from the audience. He highlighted the technical quality of the teams and expressed gratitude to Minister Al-Mutairi and other sports officials for their contributions.
In the third-place match, Kuwait edged Egypt 29-25. The first half ended in a draw, but Kuwait delivered an impressive second-half performance to seal the win. Saif Al-Adwani of Kuwait was named Best Player of the Match.
Earlier in the tournament, Tunisia defeated the UAE in the placement matches for positions five to nine, while Iraq claimed victory over Morocco.

Speaking ahead of the trip, Al-Shanfa emphasized that this training camp is a key part of the national team's broader preparation strategy. 'This championship brings together some of the strongest teams in the Arab world, giving our players valuable experience and exposure,' he said. Al-Shanfa also reaffirmed the association's commitment to developing junior and youth teams by encouraging participation in regional and international tournaments. KUWAIT: Salwa Al-Sabah Club will host the West Asian Women's Volleyball Championship on December 1-14, 2025, Club President Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad announced on Sunday. Sheikha Naima had held a meeting with the President of the West Asian Volleyball Federation Ali bin Ghanem Al-Kawari at the Salwa Al-Sabah Club, in the presence of the Secretary General of the West Asian Federation Mohammed Salem Al-Kawari. 'It is not the first time that Salwa Club is hosting a continental tournament, and we have hosted many tournaments with the participation of Gulf, Arab, Asian and even international clubs,' Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad said. She thanked the Board of Directors of the West Asian Volleyball Federation for their confidence in Salwa Al-Sabah Club, and for entrusting it with the task of organizing the women's championship. Qadsiya and Kuwait national team swimmer Al-Tarmoom claimed the gold medal after setting a new Kuwaiti record in the 50-meter breaststroke event with 00:28:21 seconds. The race, which began Friday and continues through Tuesday, features swimmers representing various Arab countries. General Manager of the Water Games at Qadsiya Club Faisal Abu Al-Hassan described Al-Tarmoom's outstanding performance as a new achievement for the sport in Kuwait. Al-Hassan expressed hope for continued victories to raise the name of Kuwait high in various international events, affirming support for athletes to achieve further accomplishments.
