Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza Leave Trail of Death and Destruction

The Israeli enemy forces have continued their war of genocide against the Gaza Strip since resuming it 64 days ago, and 592 days after the start of the aggression. This followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's reneging on the ceasefire agreement, relying on American political and military support, amidst international silence and unprecedented abandonment by the international community and Arab states.

In this context, Palestinian sources reported that 'at least 60 citizens were martyred as a result of the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since dawn on Tuesday.' They continued, 'Citizens were injured as a result of an Israeli drone strike on the Ma'an area east of Khan Yunis on Tuesday morning.'

Eyewitnesses described harrowing scenes of charred bodies pulled from the rubble of destroyed buildings. An Israeli drone strike on the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza wounded several more, while heavy artillery fire pounded the Nuseirat refugee camp. The home of the al-Maqeed family in Jabalia was reduced to rubble by an airstrike, killing nine.
In Khan Yunis, at least 15 perished when Israeli jets targeted a petrol station sheltering the displaced. Residential buildings, homes, and more schools came under a hail of bombs and shells across the besieged Palestinian enclave from Beit Lahia in the north to Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis in the south. Scores more have been wounded in the onslaught, overwhelming Gaza's already strained hospitals.

Families of Israeli Captives Say They 'Are Becoming Skin and Bone', Call for Ending Gaza War

Families of Israeli captives in Gaza and their supporters gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday to call the Israeli government to reach a deal and end the war in the besieged strip after Palestinian resistance groups issued this week videos of captives. Hundreds of Israeli took part in a protest for the captives in Tel Aviv, where family members set up a barbed wire camp after Hamas and Islamic Jihad resistance movements released videos in recent days showing the dire condition of hostages Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski. A mother of an Israeli captive said: 'In recent days, we saw the difficult videos of Rom and Evyatar from captivity.' 'Our children are undergoing a Holocaust. Jews are becoming skin and bones because of political survival,' mother of hostage Matan Zangauker said at the protest. She referred to accusations that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is prolonging the war in Gaza to appease his far-right coalition partners and stay in power. 'If we don't free everyone now, they will not survive for much longer,' Zangauker said. Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli Hostage Family Forum called on the Israeli occupation government to reach a comprehensive deal on Gaza and end the war. 'We appeal to the Israeli government and the US administration: Look our loved ones – and us – in the eyes. The danger to their lives is tangible and immediate. The risk of losing those deceased is growing. This is the time for a comprehensive deal and an end to the war. No more delays. No more leaving them behind. Stop this nightmare and bring them out of the tunnels and home,' the statement read. Videos of Israeli Captives Hamas resistance group on Friday published a new video of captive David, a day after Palestinian Islamic Jihad published a video of captive Braslavski. The video released by Hamas compares between the Israeli captive David and a starving Palestinian kid in Gaza due to famine caused by Israeli blockade, and blames the Zionist government for the consequences of the war. Family of Israeli captive David did not grant approval for airing the video to the Israeli public, Israeli media reported, but added that the footage was shared on social media. 'Those who have seen it now understand how serious it is and the physical condition Evyatar was in,' The Times of Israel quoted sister of captive David as saying.

Israel's military and political divide deepens over Gaza: The details

Report by Amal Shehadeh, English adaptation by Akram Chehayeb Two options have deepened the divide between Israel's military and political leaders: whether to occupy Gaza or maintain its encirclement. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who did not share his opinion during the cabinet meeting discussing the issue, decided to postpone the decision until next week. Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir opposed the occupation of Gaza and advocated encircling the territory instead. He has not ruled out resigning if Netanyahu rejects this approach. The political leadership, led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, rejected Zamir's approach and insisted on occupying Gaza, ignoring warnings and consequences of such a decision. Along with Itamar Ben-Gvir, Smotrich has threatened to resign. Between the two options, the hostages' dilemma has now reached a deadlock. On the ground, 'Operation Gideon's Chariots' ended in Gaza after achieving its objectives, according to an army report. The army announced the withdrawal of most units from the Strip pending the political leadership's decision, while warnings grow about the risks of occupying Gaza for the remaining hostages. These differences, along with the fate of the hostages, were discussed with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, who was urged to put pressure on both Israel and Hamas. In contrast, the U.S. presidential envoy ended his talks in Israel without progress on a deal. He will return to Washington to discuss ways to achieve a common goal that includes exchanging prisoners and ending the war.

Greek Orthodox Patriarch John X of Antioch on Saturday received the ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Alaa Moussa, and his wife at the patriarchal headquarters in Balamand, our correspondent in northern Lebanon reports. During the meeting, the diplomat condemned the deadly attack carried out in June against the Greek Orthodox Mar Elias Church in Damascus, which he described as a "heinous crime." He also stressed that the launch of an "inclusive political process" in Syria, bringing together all components, is the way to restore and guarantee stability, according to a statement. The patriarch praised Egypt's historic role in the Arab world, highlighting its current role under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi. On Friday, the ambassador congratulated President Joseph Aoun on his speech delivered the previous day on the occasion of Army Day, stressing the role of the military in maintaining "stability and sovereignty," following a meeting with the head of state at the Baabda Palace.
