In the video, Lalu is seen seated on a couch with his feet placed on a sofa nearby as a supporter enters the room carrying the portrait of Ambedkar, and places it close to former's feet before greeting him.
Bihar deputy chief minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary also shared a video clip of the incident that happened when the former CM was celebrating his 78th birthday earlier this week.
'This is testimony to the fact that Lalu Prasad holds Dalits in contempt and has no respect for the greatest leader from the depressed classes. He can have even pictures of Gods placed at his feet,' alleged Choudhary.

He also accused some opposition parties for unnecessarily criticizing the SIR exercise.

The rising incidents of mob trials, violence, and systemic oppression against minorities, Dalits, and backward communities across the country are deeply alarming and shameful, said Mar Cyril Baselios Metropolitan, head of the Malabar Independent Syrian Church. Speaking at a protest programme in Thrissur on Saturday organised by the National League District Committee against the persecution of minorities, the Metropolitan said, 'The fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution are increasingly being denied to citizens.' Referring to the recent arrest and harassment of nuns in Chhattisgarh, he said it was just one example of the broader discrimination and suffering faced by tribal, Dalit, and minority communities across the country. 'Governments must act to put an end to this marginalisation and abuse. Justice must be ensured for the victims,' he urged. The Metropolitan also honoured leaders participating in a hunger strike demanding justice for those persecuted.

We demand a fair and transparent probe by the SIT," she also raised concerns about the recent communal unrest at Yavat in Daund tehsil, where groups of persons, angered by a social media post, vandalised and set ablaze properties."This is a sensitive region. Political leaders and outsiders coming in and inciting unrest is unacceptable. I urge the chief minister and deputy chief ministers to control their people," she said. Sule urged Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, also the guardian minister of Pune, to ensure peace and communal harmony in Daund. "We have deep roots in Daund. Let's not allow outsiders to disturb its social fabric," she has become an example of how power and money can derail governance, she claimed. "There is a Rs 4,900-crore scam in the Ladki Bahin scheme. Farmers are committing suicide, and yet the government is focused on self-promotion," she alleged. Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare recently admitted that nearly 26.34 lakh ineligible persons, including men, were availing benefits of the Ladki Bahin Fadnavis's recent remarks about rising hooliganism in Pune, Sule said, "If you acknowledge there's a law and order issue, what action have you taken? Who is protecting these contractors and gangsters?" She also flagged irregularities in the Election Commission's handling of voter rolls in Bihar, demanding a detailed discussion in the Parliament on electoral transparency and accountability.
