Naqvi visits injured soldiers in Bannu

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited CMH Bannu to inquire about the health of security personnel injured in a recent terrorist attack in North Waziristan.
The attack, carried out by terrorists associated with "Fitna-e-Hindustan," left several soldiers wounded.
Minister Naqvi met with the injured, praised their courage, and offered prayers for their speedy recovery.
"Your bravery has further strengthened our resolve in the fight against terrorism," he said. "You are the proud sons of Pakistan, and the entire nation stands with you."
He added that no enemy can defeat a country that has such fearless defenders.

LAHORE: Iranian ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam has expressed deep gratitude to people of Pakistan and Jamaat-e-Islami for their strong support of Iran in the face of Israeli and American aggression. According to JI media cell at Mansoora, at a luncheon ceremony hosted at the embassy in honour of Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman on Monday, he presented a formal letter of appreciation, lauding the JI's principled stance and the Pakistani people's vocal rejection of the recent Zionist military campaign. According to media cell of JI at Mansoora, speaking at the occasion, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman commended the Iranian leadership, particularly Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, for demonstrating remarkable resolve in the face of hostile foreign intervention. He conveyed condolences for the Iranian martyrs and solidarity with their families, noting that the Iranian people's steadfast resistance was the key factor in defeating the designs of the U.S. and Israel, who sought regime change in Tehran. Calling for Muslim unity, Rehman stressed the need for Islamic countries to set aside internal differences and stand united against common enemies. He warned that Israel and the United States do not wish to see any Muslim country rise in strength and are systematically working to weaken them one by one. The JI chief also urged for greater economic and strategic cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, including the swift completion of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline and the initiation of formal mechanisms to import oil from Iran. He proposed a political and defense alliance between Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey, stating that such a pact would serve as a powerful deterrent against external aggression. Praising Iran's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, he said Tehran's backing of the people of Gaza has reinvigorated the movement for the liberation of Palestine. 'Jamaat-e-Islami stand firmly with the Palestinians until their complete freedom,' he affirmed, adding the JI's commitment to the cause of Al-Quds and the unity of the Ummah transcends all divisions of race, sect, and language. In his letter, Ambassador Amiri-Moghaddam described the recent Zionist aggression—carried out with the backing of the United States and other colonial powers—as a blatant violation of international law and human values. He praised the resilience of the Iranian people, the sacrifices of its armed forces, and the wisdom of its leadership as the reasons for the failure and disgrace of the aggressors. He wrote that the principled and vocal support of Jamaat-e-Islami and the Pakistani people in such a critical moment served as a source of strength and comfort for the Iranian nation and helped reinforce bonds of brotherhood among Islamic nations. He called Rehman solidarity a shining chapter in the historic ties between Iran and Pakistan and a reflection of the deep religious and cultural bonds the two countries share. Agenda of sustainable economic progress being implemented: Ahsan
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal said on Monday the government is implementing an agenda of sustainable economic progress. 'The government is pursuing a goal of achieving taking economy of Pakistan to one trillion dollar by the year 2035,' Ahsan said, adding: 'Our development model is to transform economic development through exports.' While inaugurating a modern classroom at the Pakistan Administrative Staff College (PASC)/ National School of Public Policy (NSPP) here Monday, Ahsan presented a comprehensive roadmap for governance reforms and institutional performance improvement, emphasising the transition from a procedure-focused to a mission-driven bureaucracy. 'The country is facing a crucial moment requiring data-driven, technology-enabled and accountable governance,' he said, adding: 'We must build institutions that are policy-consistent and shielded from political volatility, ensure transparency in decision-making, foster agility to respond to changing demands and instil responsibility in the use of public resources.' Ahsan Iqbal outlined the government's long-term economic vision under the banner of 'URAAN Pakistan', which aims at making Pakistan a $1 trillion economy by 2035. He said the strategy is built on the five pillars of the 5Es: Exports, E-Pakistan, Environment, Energy & Infrastructure and Equity & Empowerment. The minister said steps are being taken to restore public confidence in good governance, by following the policy of making bureaucracy a stable, transparent, agile and responsible. He also urged the officers to play a leading role in enabling export-led growth, digitising government operations, building climate resilience, improving infrastructure delivery and ensuring inclusive development. He said the civil servants must play their vital role for Pakistan's transformation, adding that the system must be reformed to deliver better outcomes. He introduced the STAR model — Stable, Transparent, Agile and Responsible — as a governance framework to guide civil service transformation. He commended the role of civil servants to make the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a success which showed the dedication of Pakistan's civil servants. He reminded the participants that public service is a responsibility and leadership in Islam is a duty, not a privilege. PTI MNA Chaudhry Usman Ali joins PML-N
ISLAMABAD: In a despicable shift of loyalty, Chaudhry Usman Ali, elected as a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed independent in February's general elections, officially abandoned his party on Monday to join the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The defection followed a high-profile meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the adviser to the prime minister on political affairs Rana Sanaullah, igniting fierce criticism and casting doubt on the loyalty of lawmakers who capitalised on jailed PTI founding chairman Imran Khan's popularity to secure victory. Ali won the 2024 general elections as a PTI-backed independent candidate, defeating three-time PML-N veteran Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf by securing 107,494 votes compared to Ashraf's 96,174 votes from NA-142, Sahiwal-II. In February 2024 general elections, he campaigned openly as a PTI ally after the party was barred from contesting under its own banner. He repeatedly pledged allegiance to the jailed ex-PM Imran Khan and consistently criticised the ruling PML-N at every opportunity. Some months ago, Ali publicly swore on the holy Quran that he would never betray Imran Khan after reports surfaced that he planned to vote for the controversial 26th Amendment – a constitutional amendment vehemently opposed by PTI. Yet, in a stunning betrayal, he not only switched sides but also became a key supporter of the amendment, cementing his place within the ruling coalition. Ali's switch is widely seen as a cynical grab for power, reducing his earlier oaths and promises to empty words. For many voters who supported him on the promise of PTI loyalty, the defection is a gut punch and a stark reminder of Pakistan's fractious political landscape. For the PML-N, Ali's defection is a strategic boost amid growing tensions with PTI lawmakers, but for ordinary voters who entrusted Ali with their mandate to support Imran Khan's agenda, the betrayal feels personal and profound.
