‘The Sandman' Season 2 Release Schedule—When Do New Episodes Drop On Netflix?

The Sandman. Tom Sturridge as Dream in episode 203 of The Sandman. The second and final season of The Sandman, starring Tom Sturridge, has arrived. The first six episodes are now streaming on Netflix, but what about the rest of the season? This installment will roll out very differently from other shows on the platform, so make sure to keep reading for the full release schedule. Based on the beloved DC comic series, The Sandman Season 2 will deliver a 'thrilling conclusion' to Dream's story, according to the streamer. 'After a fateful reunion with his family, Dream of the Endless (Sturridge) must face one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds,' the synopsis reads. 'To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters, and mortals. But the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything,' the description continues. Season 2 will bring several storylines from the comic books to the screen, including the 'Season of Mists,' 'Brief Lives,' 'The Kindly Ones,' and 'The Sandman: Overture' collections. It will also feature standalone stories such as 'Tales in the Sand,' 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' 'The Song of Orpheus,' 'Thermidor,' and 'The Tempest' and more. Unfortunately, the second season also marks the end of the costly series, which reportedly had a $15 million-per-episode budget in 2022. Showrunner Allan Heinberg recently told Netflix's Tudum that the decision to end the show was due to the limited remaining source material about Dream in the comics. 'The Sandman series has always been focused exclusively on Dream's story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season,' Heinberg said. He added that he was grateful Netflix gave the series "the time and resources to make a faithful adaptation in a way that we hope will surprise and delight the comics' loyal readers as well as fans of our show.' Watch: Dong-wook stars in new K-drama 'The Nice Guy'

July 3 (UPI) -- Disney+ Singapore is teasing The Nice Guy, a new K-drama starring My Girl's Lee Dong-wook. The trailer released Wednesday opens with Dong-wook's voice mentioning author Ernest Hemingway as he gazes at a cloudless sky. "Hemingway once said, 'the sun also rises.' And for me, the sun rose again," he says, referring to his romantic interest Miyoung (Lee Sungkyoung). As the preview continues, it becomes clear that Dong-wook's character hasn't been forthcoming about his past. "A man who gave up on his dreams because of loyalty. Because of life, a woman who folded her dreams. A love story that becomes a dream of each other," an official synopsis reads. The Nice Guy will stream internationally on Disney+ beginning July 18.

Photo by Hugo Philpott/UPI | License Photo July 3 (UPI) -- The BBC has apologized for airing Bob Vylan's "offensive" Glastonbury Music Festival set over the weekend and is changing its live-stream protocols in response. Bob Vylan, a British alternative rap duo made up of Bobby Vylan and Bobbie Vylan, chanted "Death, death to the IDF," referring to the Israel Defense Forces, and "Free, free Palestine" on stage Saturday. The performance was live-streamed on BBC, which apologized and called the duo's comments "deeply offensive" and "anti-Semitic" in a statement Monday. In a new statement Thursday, the BBC said Bob Vylan had been "deemed high risk following a risk assessment process applied to all acts appearing at Glastonbury," but said it felt that risk could be mitigated via "language or content warnings -- without the need for delay." Going forward, the BBC said it will no longer live-stream performances that are dubbed "high risk," and that support personnel will be deployed to big music festivals "to improve compliance processes." BBC Chair Samir Shah added that "the Executive is initiating a process to ensure proper accountability for those found to be responsible the failings in this incident." The U.S. State Department has since revoked visas for the members of Bob Vylan. "We are not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or group of people," the duo said Sunday on Instagram. "We are for the dismantling of a violent military machine. A machine whose own soldiers were told to use unnecessary lethal force against innocent civilians waiting for aid."
