The PGA star reserved the entire garden area to ensure the exclusive guest list could enjoy the festivities in privacy.
True to his down-to-earth reputation, the Offaly native made sure Wendy was surrounded by close family, friends, and a select group from their showbiz circle. 'Lowry booked out all of the garden area of House for Wendys' birthday,' a nightclub source told Extra.ie, 'He wanted to make sure they could have a good night without being interrupted,' said the source.
And indeed by all accounts the invited guests had a 'great night' with celebrations going on in the wee small hours. View this post on Instagram

'Shane is well-known for being one of the most down-to-earth people. And anytime he's out he has no problem stopping to chat to anyone who recognises him or wants a selfie with him.
'But he wanted Saturday to be all about Wendy,' added the source. Shane Lowry holds the Claret Jug with his wife Wendy Honner and their daughter Iris. Big Boy ice cream causes hilarity at Ireland AM
Ireland AM host Alan Hughes got frazzled live on air this morning with a story from about a giant ice cream cone that has gone viral around the world. Yesterday we published the story about a shop in County Meath that has become famous because of their 99 ice cream cone, that is reportedly 9 inches tall, nicknamed the BIG BOY. Currans Service Station on the N3 between Dublin and Navan is selling the giant creamy treat to hundreds of punters every day, and they say they are expecting to be even busier in the coming days with the promised heatwave arriving this week. Poor Alan was put quite off his usual stride when trying to ask the live tv audience a simple question. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ireland AM (@irelandamvmtv) How much is a 99 in your area, is what he SHOULD have said, but it came out as 'How much is a 69 in your area'? Alans co-host Muireann O'Connell was doubled over with laughter as the host not only made the gaff once, but twice, when trying a second time to get it right. Pic: Kayleigh Payne It's easy to understand how it happened to Alan though, when the size of the ice cream cone is enough to cause exclamations of 'OH MY GOD' for anyone who has tried to tackle the delicious 9 inch tall ice cream at the County Meath store. What started off as a 'bit of craic' with the young staff in the shop, to see who could make the biggest cone, has now turned into a viral monster with over 500 of these tasty ice creams being sold every day, and demand is not showing any sign of slowing down either. The Big Boy Ice Cream cone – Pic: Fran Veale Long may it last, retailing at four euro it's the best value ice cream we have seen in, oh maybe 99 days of summer.

Rory McIlroy sports a sharp new cut and sharper focus ahead of Scottish Open
Rory McIlroy turned heads for more than just his swing on Wednesday at The Renaissance Club, where he appeared ahead of the Genesis Scottish Open sporting a dramatically close-cropped new hairstyle. Known for his trademark curls, the Masters champion surprised onlookers with a much shorter, sharply buzzed look, prompting immediate reaction both on the ground and across social media. But the fresh trim might be more than just a summer switch-up, it may even signal a refreshed mindset. McIlroy has been out of the spotlight since tying for sixth at the Travelers Championship last month, following a welcome return to form after a rocky stretch post-Augusta. Rory McIlroy at the pro-am prior to the Genesis Scottish Open. Pic:He spent the break largely off-grid, recharging at his new family home in Wentworth and intentionally stepping away from 'the grind' of the PGA circuit. 'The one thing I would say about the last couple of weeks is I felt like I could detach a little bit more and sort of hide in a way,' the world number two said at a press conference. 'Sometimes you need that to completely get away. I feel like this world of golf can become all encompassing if you let it. View this post on Instagram A post shared by (@extradotie) 'Justin Rose and I came up here together yesterday and we were just chatting about how there is a detachment from the sort of week-in, week-out grind when you get back over here, from when you play PGA Tour for that sort of first 25 to 30 weeks of the year. 'It has been lovely to get back and see some familiar faces, and is the first time back playing in the UK since what happened at Augusta, which is a really nice feeling as well.' Now back in Scotland with sharpened focus and a sharp new look to match—McIlroy has his sights set on making a statement in North Berwick as he builds momentum for his Open Championship bid at Royal Portrush. Pic:However, his return isn't what's set tongues wagging, but more so his fresh cut, with fans taking to X to share their divisive opinions on the trim. 'Rory needs to stick to his old hair. Looks 20 years older here with his new cut,' one user wrote. 'The Rory head shave makes total sense when you realize it'll be the ideal 'just enough on top and short on the sides' length when the Ryder Cup rolls around so he can rock without a hat,' another penned. 'Did Rors get in an accident while they were trimming the greens?,' a third joked.
