Matthew Daddario was born on October 1, 1987, in New York. His parents are Richard and Christina Daddario, both lawyers. He claims to have been a 'well-behaved' child, although admits that his mum would say otherwise. Speaking of growing up in New York, he told Flaunt, 'I walked around, I skateboarded, I went and met my friends and we would wander around the city,' adding that he stayed out of trouble.

Daddario studied business at Indiana University before becoming an actor. In his interview with Flaunt, the Cabin Fever actor shared candidly that he followed his elder sister's footsteps into Hollywood with a clear understanding of how tricky it can be to make it.
'It needs to be something that you're doing because you actually love it, because really, your chances of succeeding are near zero, and they're not necessarily based off your skill level,' he said. He took acting classes, got an agent and tried out at auditions, which ultimately paid off.
