Alexandra Daddario Joins the Viral Bob Trend, Debuting a Chin-length Cut

Alexandra Daddario just made a big chop. The 39-year-old actress decided to ditch her long ends and hop on the burgeoning bob haircut trend, which has already seen a slew of celebrities, including Halle Berry, Jenna Bush Hager, Kendall Jenner and Zendaya, cut their hair short as well. In a post on Instagram, Daddario revealed the step-by-step process of chopping her dark brown locks, which were well-below her shoulders. First, she opted for a color enhancement, re-dying her roots to match the body of her hair. This was then followed by her massive trim, which left her tresses at chin-length, a far cry from where they had started. Except, Hager's aesthetic change wasn't exactly her idea. The on-screen star's dramatic change was a result of Leslie Bibb's encouragement when she served as a guest host during the June 17 taping of the NBC morning segment. At first, Hager was unsure about her new look, telling Bibb: 'I feel a little…you know that '90s movie 'Single White Female,' where you try to copy somebody to such an extent? You made this haircut so famous, and then I used your hairstylist, who is a star, to get the exact same haircut, and I'm feeling a little strange.' Indeed, if Hager considers herself to have 'single white female-d' Bibb, then it's safe to say the A-list mecca has been doing the same to each other for months. The domino effect of the bob noticeably ensued when Hailey Bieber unveiled her own cut back in 2023. Her fellow stars fell fast after that. Celebrities who previously wouldn't have considered cutting their long hair have now taken the plunge, including Nicole Kidman and Pamela Anderson, both of whom debuted unique renditions of the look at the 2025 Met Gala. Anderson, specifically, took the bob one step further, adding micro bangs to round out the shape. Kidman, on the other hand, cut her ends even shorter than Anderson's, toeing the line of a pixie cut. The 'Babygirl' lead also slicked her hair back for 'fashion's biggest night out' in May, which made it hard to decipher where her new bob fell. The bob isn't entirely new for Daddario. Though it's true the 'Baywatch' movie star has kept her hair past her collarbone for the last few years, she had a bob haircut in 2022. Alexandra Daddario Is the Latest Celeb to Co-Sign the French Bob Trend

Gilbert Carrasquillo All summer long, we've been seeing celebs flock to the hottest haircut of the year, the bob. And as of July 13, we can add Alexandra Daddario to the list. The White Lotus actor took to Instagram to show off her new look, which is none other than the effortlessly chic French bob. Daddario shared photos of her haircut, plus a time-lapse video of her hairstylist creating the look from start to finish. 'Needed a change!!' she wrote in her Instagram caption before thanking her stylist, who she tagged as @hairbender212. It is indeed a dramatic transformation from her longer mid-length hair she's been wearing lately, with this cut taking off about several inches. And the haircut isn't the only change Daddario has made. In a 'before' photo, you can see some grays peeping out along her roots, and in an 'after' photo, those have been all covered up with dark brown hair dye her stylist applied all over her scalp and strands. (BRB, adding her rich brunette color to our personal list of brown hair ideas ASAP.) Her French bob makes perfect sense for a summer haircut. In the midst of peak heat and humidity this season, being able to keep cool without long hair is ideal, and you don't have to worry about keeping your strands out of your face or off your neck and back. Plus, the short haircut couldn't be more on trend. Daddario joins the ranks of celebrities like Sofia Richie Grainge, Lily Collins, and Jenna Bush Hager, who have also all leaned into the bob. Hager actually got her bob cut on live TV while cohosting her show Today with Jenna & Friends alongside another The White Lotus actor Leslie Bibb. Bibb's now-famous 'c-nty little bob' took the world by storm on season three of the popular show. Though Bibb's cut is much shorter than the French bob Daddario is wearing, we love to see fellow The White Lotus actors both leaning into the trend. The French bob is a little different than others. 'A French bob is typically shorter than your typical chin-length bob we've been seeing a lot of lately,' says celebrity hairstylist Alex Brown. 'It has a bit of a 'wedge' look to it, and is so chic and stylish.' According to celeb hairstylist Peter Butler, the French bob originated in the '20s jazz age, so it has a short, crisp, dramatic flapper look, which is exactly like Alexandra Daddario's blunt, crisp cut. 'It has to be cut so that it hits your jaw line,' he says. 'Traditionally, it can also go shorter and hit your lip line. Both lengths look amazing and fresh.' Alexandra Daddario Reflects on Nude Scenes: 'If It Serves the Role, It Doesn't Bother Me'

During a conversation with Social Life Magazine, Daddario reflected on filming nude scenes The actress said that the nudity was "never about me" and was always about remaining true to a role Daddario is currently starring in the second season of AMC's Mayfair WitchesAlexandra Daddario is opening up about her relationship with nudity in her career. The 39-year-old Mayfair Witches, who briefly appeared nude in the HBO shows True Detective and The White Lotus, is featured on the cover of Social Life Magazine where she explained to editor-in-chief Devorah Rose how stripping down for the cameras was "never about me." "It was about the performance. I wasn't really that aware of what I looked like, other than feeling uncomfortable when men whistled at me on the street. I never thought of myself as sexy. I spent more time hiding my body than showing it," she said. The Baywatch actress added: "I didn't do the nude scenes because I felt bold or confident. Those scenes were both hard and vulnerable... but that's also what made it a challenge." She ultimately described the scenes as "transformative," saying that for her it was all about "being honest in the role." "I think other people thought about it more than I did," Daddario opined. Nudity is also not something that she would weigh out at this point in her career. There's just one caveat: It needs to serve a purpose. 'Being naked is part of human nature," she said. "If it serves the role, is a great part, and a project I care about then no, it doesn't bother me to be nude on screen as I get older." Discussing her role in AMC's Mayfair Witches, Daddario stressed that she's not put off by any of the more mature elements of the show. 'The darkness doesn't scare me. The sexuality doesn't scare me. That's all part of being human,' she explained. She added, "I actually think Rowan can get even naughtier. She's struggling with power in a world that's completely unhinged, and that's what makes her so fascinating." This isn't the first time that Daddario has reflected on her nude moments on camera. 'I have a lot of thoughts on this topic, but for example, when True Detective came out and I was naked on the show, and it was huge for my career and the phone was ringing and I got some work off of it, I think that I hadn't been that aware of my sex appeal prior to that,' she told Men's Journal in 2022. She clarified, 'I tried not to take it too seriously. I really love acting, in my heart I'm just a theater nerd, and I sort of took that and said, 'This is good for my career,' and embraced it.' In an intimate sit-down with Editor-in-Chief Devorah Rose, the sexy actress opens up about on-screen nudity: 'It doesn't bother me to be nude on screen. I don't do it for the sake of doing it. I do it because it's right for the role.' Daddario, who's currently playing a sorceress in the supernatural horror thriller Mayfair Witches on AMC (in the United States), didn't hold back when it came to describing what draws her to certain roles. 'The darkness doesn't scare me. The sexuality doesn't scare me. That's all part of being human. I think it's fun to let that loose now and then.' The bodacious actress, who starred in the movie Baywatch with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Zac Efron, confessed, 'I never thought of myself as sexy. "I spent more time hiding my body than showing it. I didn't do the nude scenes because I felt bold or confident. Those scenes were both hard and vulnerable … but that's also what made it a challenge.' Don't mistake the goddess energy for ego – she's making movies with both feet on the ground. Loro Piana's Montauk Soirée Mixed Italian Ease With East-Coast Cool

If there's any brand that captures the essence of refined summer living, it's Loro Piana. To celebrate the carefree spirit of the season and the unveiling of its resort 2025 collection, the Italian maison hosted an intimate soirée at The Crow's Nest on the sandy shores of Lake Montauk. Among the linen-clad guests was Your Friends & Neighbors actor Jon Hamm, who sported a pair of newly launched Loro Piana sunglasses. The eyewear collection marks the brand's first full foray into the category, with frames made in Japan from lightweight titanium and hypoallergenic acetate. As the sun dipped behind the dunes, actress Alexandra Daddario relaxed on one of the many rattan loungers and enjoyed a quick game of backgammon—using a handcrafted walnut wood set from Loro Piana's very own game collection. Artist Josh Diesenhaus and director and photographer Tyler Rizzuto battled it out in a game of four in a row, reimagined by Loro Piana with polished wood chips and hand-stitched leather. Actors Anna Osceola and Will Arnett enjoyed upbeat tunes from DJ Bec Adams, while others nibbled on passed hors d'oeuvres and sipped on signature cocktails with Calabrian chili and watermelon juice. Loro Piana set the scene with a vision of sophisticated ease: a string of globe lights, terracotta pots, and the scent of strawberry Sorrento drifting through the air. Luxe details, like monogrammed aprons and Loro Piana blankets in leather-trimmed baskets, added warmth to the alfresco setting.
