Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton supported Kimi Antonelli after the teenage prodigy faces intense pressure amid his run of struggles.
Getty Images photographer Kym Illman photographed Hamilton leaving the Mercedes hospitality and wrote on Instagram:
"It's believed he caught up with Kimi Antonelli to give him some support after the Mercedes rookie's tricky qualifying yesterday when Kimi appeared teary-eyed after the session."
Antonelli qualified 19th for the Belgian Grand Prix. Earlier in the weekend, he once again failed to get out of Q1 for the sprint race.

Over the past couple of races in Europe, he has struggled overall. He appeared emotional after qualifying in Belgium as the pressure and circumstances swirl around him.
Antonelli hasn't scored in his last three races, but Hamilton remains impressed and supportive of the young driver.
"I can't imagine what it's like at 18, to do what he's doing," Hamilton said after the Belgian GP.
"I think he's been doing fantastic, but to be thrown in the deep end at 18, he hadn't even had his driving licence when he first started racing!
"I think it's a lot on someone's shoulders and I think he's done a great job.
"And he's got a great group of people around him so I think he's just got to take it in his stride. He has Bono by his side, he couldn't have anyone better."
At only 18 years of age, Antonelli is hailed as the next Max Verstappen, who also broke into the sport in his teenage years.
After winning the F3 title in his first season and impressing during his rookie stint in F2, Mercedes made the bold decision to promote Antonelli straight into a top seat at the team.
Typically, junior drivers are loaned out to lower tier teams with less pressure to deliver, but team boss Toto Wolff believed the Italian could handle the job straight away.
Not only did he step into Mercedes, but he replaced Lewis Hamilton directly in the team, adding even more attention to his performances.
Since Antonelli got the seat, Hamilton has mentored the young driver, giving him advice and supporter the youngster.

Formula 1 heads to Hungary next where Antonelli will hope his scoreless streak ends before the August summer break begins.

Mercedes taps the brakes on EV orders, citing low demand in the US
Mercedes-Benz says it is pausing orders for its electric vehicles as demand wanes among American drivers. A spokesperson for the German automotive company told Business Insider the decision affects all variants of the EQS Sedan, EQS SUV, EQE Sedan, and the EQE SUV. Vehicles that were scheduled for production before September 1 will still be delivered. "As a company with global activities and more than 30 plants worldwide, including in Alabama and South Carolina, Mercedes-Benz continuously optimizes its production network and uses its high flexibility to react quickly to market conditions," the spokesperson said. "We continue to assemble all of our models meant for export to global markets, as well as adapt to meet local market demand." The spokesperson said it cannot say when US order banks for EQ models will reopen "for competitive reasons." In its Q2 earnings report on Wednesday, Mercedes-Benz said the total unit sales for its battery electric vehicles (BEV) had slipped by almost 25% compared to the same time last year: 45,843 units to 35,027 units. In 2022, Mercedes-Benz began manufacturing two all-electric vehicle models — the EQS SUV and EQE SUV — at its Alabama plant. In 2023, it also added the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV. The company's decision to pause orders comes after President Donald Trump's spending bill, which he signed into law this month, eliminated the $7,500 tax credit for new electric vehicles. Industry experts previously warned that axing the tax incentive could make EVs unaffordable, affecting companies like Tesla, Cadillac, and Chevrolet. The tax incentive will end on September 30. EV sales in North America rose just 5% in the first four months of 2024, compared to 25% in Europe and 35% in China, according to EV research firm Rho Motion. During Wednesday's earnings call, a Mercedes-Benz Group representative said he thinks American interest in electric vehicles will rebound over time. "In spite of the announcement that they would take the 7,500 credit away, we don't believe that the BEV demand in the United States goes to zero," he said. "We still think that the medium to long-term adoption rate of BEVs in the US will creep upward. Maybe it will creep upward slower than if the previous regulatory trajectory had been kept in place, but nevertheless, we believe in the mid to long term it will creep upward."

🎥 Guendouzi struggles, Mourinho beats Sarri, Udinese v Pisa🚀 Today's friendlies⚔️
The pre-season is heating up, and after a couple of days of relative rest, today many teams are back on the field. Keeping up with all the commitments is not easy: that's why we have gathered in a single recap all the friendly matches played today by the Italian teams. 📺 Watch all the friendlies of Napoli LIVE on OneFootball! Click here from the app to purchase Napoli-Stade Brestois 29. ❌ Monaco vs TORINO 3-1 Torino falls in the third summer friendly, defeated 3-1 by Monaco on French soil. The "granata" had taken the lead with Gineitis through a nice action carried forward on the left, but Biereth's equalizer in the 16th minute immediately restored balance. Paleari stands out with some decisive interventions, but is tricked by a deflection from Casadei on Camara's shot. In the second half, a positive debut for Abouhklal, who came close to scoring on several occasions, before Golovin sealed the final 3-1. ✅ Strasbourg vs UDINESE 1-2 Udinese wins again in a friendly: 2-1 against Strasbourg, a French team expected in the Conference League playoffs. Despite Davis's absence due to a virus and with Runjaic replaced on the bench by deputy Malecki, the "bianconeri" lined up with a 4-4-2: Pafundi on the wing, Bayo and Brenner in attack. Immediate intensity and high pressing. Panichelli put Strasbourg ahead, but in the second half, Udinese turned everything around in a few minutes: Bayo's equalizer and Atta's overtaking goal assisted by Lovric. Good responses also from Sava and Zemura in a risk-free ending. ✅ Empoli vs PISA 2-3 The friendly at Castellani goes to Pisa: it ends 3-2 against a combative but still tuning Empoli. The "nerazzurri" started strong with goals from Akinsanmiro and Touré, but Shpendi – with a true striker's brace – brought Empoli back to parity. It was then Meister, with a great play, who decided the match in the second half. Pagliuca's team shows rhythm and determination, but also limits to correct, especially in the midfield and in the non-possession phase. Among the positive signs, the growing condition of Shpendi and the energy of Busiello. Ceesay's injury needs to be evaluated. ❌ Fenerbahce vs LAZIO 1-0 It could be described as a Sarri vs Mourinho on an international tone, and on the day when Fenerbahçe makes two major market moves, they also secure a narrow victory against Lazio. A match anything but friendly, especially for what happened at the end of a first half full of tension, protests, and often borderline interventions. Zaccagni lost his cool after a free kick was awarded for a push at the edge of the area, resulting in a yellow card. The match was decided by Kahveci's goal, which came from a mistake by Guendouzi: instead of finding a teammate, he passed it to En-Nesyri, who then served the winger and beat Mandas. A disappointing performance by the "biancocelesti," never truly dangerous and with only one message at the end of this match: there is a lot, a lot, a lot of work to be done. Charley Hull Delivers Masterclass With Take On Glory vs. Fame Debate
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Charley Hull is one of the faces of women's golf worldwide, and her star has shone both on and off the court. Not to go too far back in time, the Englishwoman just made a cameo in "Happy Gilmore 2" alongside a handful of fellow golf stars. However, her fame in the golf world hasn't diminished her hunger for glory and desire to win tournaments. This will likely make her even more of a fan favorite. Speaking on the topic from Royal Porthcawl, where the AIG Women's Open will be played starting Thursday, Hull delivered a powerful lesson on achieving sporting glory versus achieving fame. Charley Hull of England puts on a jacket on the third hole during the final round of the ISPS HANDA Women's Scottish Open 2025 at Dundonald Links Golf Course on July 27, 2025 in Troon, Scotland. MoreIt's a debate where the line between chasing fame and pursuing results tends to be blurry for some athletes. "I want to see my name on the trophy. I don't care about being up in the headlines," Hull said, according to the transcripts of her pre-tournament presser. "I don't really read the headlines. I literally go out there and play golf and play good and hopefully get my name on the trophy." A reporter asked if she feels she bears some of the popularity within women's golf, to which Hull responded in the humblest way. "I don't know, I don't feel like I've got to carry anything. I need to just be me at the end of the day." The truth is Hull's popularity is undeniable. She has more than 95,000 fans on X and nearly 800,000 on Instagram. An undetermined number also follows her on Passes. But her stature as a professional golfer is as high as, if not higher than, her fame. Hull has been among the best players in the world for the last decade, a role she has cemented despite not winning as many titles as some of her peers. The Englishwoman has won two LPGA Tour events and four on the Ladies European Tour. She hasn't won any major championships but has finished second at least once in three of the five majors. Further proof of this is that Hull was ranked seventh in the world rankings just over a year ago. She has been a constant presence in the world's top 10, a status she lost midway through the current season, which has not been her best (13 tournaments, three top 10s, two of them in the LET). As if that wasn't enough, Hull has also been a star in the Solheim Cup, with three wins and one draw in seven appearances.
