Marvel Rivals season 3 patch notes: Skins, fixes, and more coming in the new update
The competitive shooter has kept fans busy with weekly updates, and this patch follows up on the June 26 changes that adjusted how surrendering works. That update also gave players a new Punisher skin from Daredevil: Born Again and a Thor outfit based on his look in X-Men: Hellfire Gala. Now, the focus shifts to symbiotes, venom suits, and what lies ahead.
What's new in the July 3 Marvel Rivals update
SEASON 3 BATTLE PASS "POWER OF THE PHOENIX" Emma Frost "Phoenix Force"Venomized skins for Rocket Raccoon, Jeff, and Squirrel Girl pic.twitter.com/qB1OFPdwm6
The biggest additions in this update are two new skin bundles:
Captain America wears the "Captain Klyntar" look, where Steve Rogers suits up in a venom-inspired design from the 2017 Edge of Venomverse comic.
Spider-Man joins the Future Foundation with his clean white costume, originally worn in comics during his time with Reed Richards' team.
Both bundles come with extras like MVP intros, emotes, sprays, and nameplates.
The update also brings fixes to issues affecting multiple characters:
Thor's abilities were misfiring due to high latency, especially when using Thorforce. That problem is now resolved.
Magneto and Psylocke's illusions were incorrectly triggering kill-related effects tied to other characters, like Loki or Thor. This bug has been removed, so only real opponents will activate such effects.
These small but helpful tweaks should make matches smoother and more balanced for all players.
This patch may be short, but it leads into something much bigger. Marvel Rivals has confirmed that Season 3 will start on July 11, bringing new heroes like Blade and Jean Grey to the game. Fans can also expect a new map based on Klyntar, home of the symbiotes, and more skins, including one for Jeff the Land Shark.
Marvel Rivals continues to expand with each update. From deep lore to fun cosmetics and a growing hero lineup, it is building toward a strong third season.

New Marvel Rivals leak reveals Blade abilities
Image via NetEase Games. Season 3 in Marvel Rivals has just kicked off. This season will mark the new 2-month seasonal format, where the mid-season refresh update will launch in the immediate next month. Not only that, Marvel Rivals will now introduce two new heroes each season, one in each month, starting from Season 3. In this season, fans will get to play as two popular Marvel characters - Phoenix (Jean Grey) and Blade. The former has already taken entry into the game, but the latter is yet to make his mark. Amidst all of this, the abilities of the unreleased character are now leaked. New Marvel Rivals leak reveals Blade's team-up ability The abilities of Blade in Marvel Rivals have already been revealed in June when popular leaker RivalsInfo leaked his kit on Twitter. Blade's kit includes Blade Chopper and Hunting Gun as his Primary Fires. On the other hand, Shift Ability features an anti-healing effect called Step and Chop, which is going to be a gamechanger. Last but not the least, his Ultimate unleashes a powerful sword chop, while charging forward. Now, the same leaker has revealed gameplay footage, featuring Blade's team-up ability. This team-up ability is called Lunar Force and needs Blade to pair-up with Moon Knight and Cloak and Dagger. In this ability, Blade gets a force-field around him which makes him invisible as well, and might well make him impervious to enemy shots. It's still unconfirmed how Moon Knight and Cloak and Dagger get benefited from this ability. Blade is rumored to be a Duelist in the game, so this team-up ability is going to be overpowered for sure. As a Duelist, Blade's main job will be to take entry into the site and get early frags. And the Lunar Force ability will help Blade to execute the same. His alleged anti-healing ability will make enemy players vulnerable to his Primary Fires. However, nothing has been confirmed by NetEase Games yet. But if Blade comes in all guns blazing with this rumored kit, he is surely going to be one of the most picked characters in Marvel Rivals. Killed off in X-Men franchise, the Superman actor is now soaring in the DC universe
Marvel Studios definitely have their backs up after the positive reactions received by James Gunn's latest film, Superman. The film's box office collection is also growing exponentially by the day. One of the key takeaways from the film was the introduction of the Justice Gang, and out of the three superheroes, Mister Terrific has left a mark. Played by Edi Gathegi, the character added serious firepower to the film, and it is quite interesting to know that DC's latest winning stead was once in a competing stable and was part of the X-Men. Everyone is wondering, did Marvel lose out on a winner? Back in 2011, the X-Men franchise was owned by 20th Century Studios, and they came out with the film X-Men: First Class, which followed the journey of a young Charles Xavier and Magneto trying to create a mutant super team in order to deal with the repercussions of coming out to the world about their abilities. One of the young recruits was a mutant named Darwin (played by Edi), and anyone who is familiar with the comics knows about the incredible shape-shifting capabilities he possessed. What came as a surprise was that he was killed in the movie by Sebastian Shaw, and fans never got the chance to see the character develop. Interestingly, he had very similar powers to Metamorpho, who appears in Gunn's Superman, but obviously did not have a happy ending. ALSO READ: Superman ending explained: What it means for new DCU movies and Peacemaker season 2 Edi Gathegi recently revealed to THR that he had expressed concerns about the script to his agent and how he felt that killing the only male Black character halfway into X-Men: First Class was a cliche thing to do. He said, 'So I read the script, and I called my agents to say, 'Hey, listen, I have a problem with the fact that this character is the only Black character in the film aside from Zoë Kravitz's character. I am also the only mutant who meets an untimely demise halfway through the film.' It was 2009 at the time, and I was like, 'Killing the Black guy first is so played out. I can't do this.'' Edi added that he was told that the character's untimely death was part of a larger plan and he would return in the later films in the franchise, but nothing of the sort ever happened, which the actor expressed came as a 'surprise' to him. Now all these years later, Edi has made peace with the studios' decision and is currently bearing the fruits of his incredible portrayal of Mr Terrific. Fighting alongside Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion) and Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced) as the Justice Gang, Edi stole the show with his sarcastic quips, entertaining fight sequences and an air of domination. He added, 'With X-Men, the message that I received as an actor and as a man of colour in this world is you can be the most powerful mutant in the world, and they'll never let you reach your full potential. Whereas with Mister Terrific in Superman, the message that I'm receiving is you can be one of the most intelligent characters in the universe, and you can make a difference. You can help save the world. It's a different level of conversation.'

In Marvel Rivals, there is now a UI element that shows how much progress fans have made for specific missions.
