Taunton St Andrews struggling in WEPL Premier One
At the halfway stage of the season Taunton St Andrews find themselves at the bottom of the WEPL Premier One table after being beaten by Bristol CC by eight wickets at the Wyvern Club on Saturday afternoon.

After choosing to bat first the hosts were bowled out for 108 in 30 overs, Gabe Gallman-Findley top scoring with 24 off 33 balls and Marcus Sapiecha making 18. For the visitors Rishi Panchal took three for 8 while Louie Shaw ended with three for 33
Bristol made light work of their target and reached 110 for the loss of two wickets in 22.3 overs.
Saints Second XI made the trip to play Minehead in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League where after choosing to bat they found themselves 73 for nine. At this point Ryan Cleverley and Andrew Batstone came together and took the total onto 117 when the former was out for 18, leaving Batstone unbeaten 20.
Harry Tudball was the bowler doing the damage ending with five for 13 from nine overs while Anan Rajan claimed three for 27 from six.

Minehead reached 119 for one wicket, Freddie Wilson ending unbeaten on 64 from 50 balls with nine 4s and three 6s.
The Saints B XI hosted Staplegrove, and after winning the toss the visitors posted 259 for four a score that was based on an unbeaten 121 from Finley Thompson, Broughan Bartlett hit 46 and Lee Pope 40.
In reply the Saints were 220 all out in 37.1 overs Nigel Contreras making 73, Charlie Trott 33 and Noah Hines 28. Pick of the bowlers for Grove was Connor Knowling who ended with three wickets for nine runs.
Both of the Taunton St Andrews Under 15 teams enjoyed success over the weekend.

On Sunday morning the Under 15 Tigers produced a great team performance when they beat Wiveliscombe at the Wyvern. After choosing to bat first the Saints posted 177 for one which included 50 from Bosley Thorne and 40 from Leo Contreras who shared a second wicket partnership of 138. In reply the visitors were limited to 140 for three.
On Monday evening the Saints Under 15s travelled to play Wembdon in the semi final of the TDYCL Cup where batting first the visitors made 174 for four of which both Nick Watson and Danny Woolcott made 38 each, Henry Mason- Walshaw hit 26 while Theo Jones ended 22 not out.
In reply Wembdon were all out for 113 in 17.3 overs Archie Scott taking three wickets for two runs.

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid defender Gabriel Heinze is joining Mikel Arteta's coaching staff at Arsenal. Heinze's playing career saw him win league titles at Manchester United, Real Madrid and Marseille as well as an Olympic gold medal with Argentina in Athens in 2004. He won 72 caps for his country and was a Copa America runner-up twice. He will join a coaching staff team at Arsenal that includes assistant Albert Stuivenberg, set-piece coach Nico Jover, and goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana. The three have all been at the club since 2021. Former Arsenal academy goalkeeper Remy Mitchell was back with the club in training this week, almost three years after his official departure. Advertisement Mitchell departed for Swansea City in 2022, after coming to the end of his Arsenal contract, but he's evidently been given permission to train with his old club this summer. The 21-year-old's presence shouldn't be taken as a sign that he's returning to Arsenal for good, given he's too old to play competitive fixtures with the u18 side. But he's there to help out his old team and get a training session or two in for his own fitness. Photo via Mitchell spent most of the 2024/25 campaign playing for Haringey Borough in the Isthmian League North Division, the eighth tier of English football. The goalkeeper went on loan to Aylesbury United last November, playing three matches as cover for the suspended Jack Hopwood. But after that spell was up, the youngster returned to Haringey for the remainder of the season. Catterall vs Eubank: Date, fight time, undercard, prediction, ring walks and odds
Jack Catterall and Harlem Eubank clash in an all-British welterweight showdown in Manchester this weekend. Catterall is seeking a swift return to winning ways after being edged out by Arnold Barboza Jr in a gutting split-decision loss back in February which wrecked his world title hopes for the time being. That halted 'El Gato's' significant momentum after he had beaten veteran warrior Jorge Linares and successfully avenged his hugely controversial first career loss to Josh Taylor that saw him miss out on undisputed status at super-lightweight in the most contentious fashion, also defeating two-time world champion Regis Prograis. It was American Barboza Jr who ended up claiming the interim WBO title in a final eliminator at 140 pounds, earning a shot at full champion Teofimo Lopez, losing on points in New York in May. Catterall vowed to respond quickly but there was plenty of surprise when he moved up to take a fight against Eubank, the nephew of Chris Eubank Sr and cousin of Chris Eubank Jr who is still unbeaten at 21-0 but faces a huge step up on Saturday night. He was last in action in March in his hometown of Brighton, stopping Northern Ireland's Tyrone McKenna in the 10th round to claim the IBF Inter-continental welterweight title. Catterall vs Eubank takes place on Saturday July 5, 2025 at the AO Arena in Manchester. The main undercard action begins at 7pm BST, with earlier fights broadcast from 5pm. Catterall and Eubank are expected to ring walk at approximately 10pm.
