Taunton St Andrews struggling in WEPL Premier One
West of England Premier Cricket League, Premier One: Taunton St Andrews 108 (1pt) lost to Bristol 110-2 20pts) by eight wickets At the halfway stage of the season Taunton St Andrews find themselves at the bottom of the WEPL Premier One table after being beaten by Bristol CC by eight wickets at the Wyvern Club on Saturday afternoon. Advertisement After choosing to bat first the hosts were bowled out for 108 in 30 overs, Gabe Gallman-Findley top scoring with 24 off 33 balls and Marcus Sapiecha making 18. For the visitors Rishi Panchal took three for 8 while Louie Shaw ended with three for 33 Bristol made light work of their target and reached 110 for the loss of two wickets in 22.3 overs. Saints Second XI made the trip to play Minehead in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League where after choosing to bat they found themselves 73 for nine. At this point Ryan Cleverley and Andrew Batstone came together and took the total onto 117 when the former was out for 18, leaving Batstone unbeaten 20. Harry Tudball was the bowler doing the damage ending with five for 13 from nine overs while Anan Rajan claimed three for 27 from six. Advertisement Minehead reached 119 for one wicket, Freddie Wilson ending unbeaten on 64 from 50 balls with nine 4s and three 6s. The Saints B XI hosted Staplegrove, and after winning the toss the visitors posted 259 for four a score that was based on an unbeaten 121 from Finley Thompson, Broughan Bartlett hit 46 and Lee Pope 40. In reply the Saints were 220 all out in 37.1 overs Nigel Contreras making 73, Charlie Trott 33 and Noah Hines 28. Pick of the bowlers for Grove was Connor Knowling who ended with three wickets for nine runs. Both of the Taunton St Andrews Under 15 teams enjoyed success over the weekend. Advertisement On Sunday morning the Under 15 Tigers produced a great team performance when they beat Wiveliscombe at the Wyvern. After choosing to bat first the Saints posted 177 for one which included 50 from Bosley Thorne and 40 from Leo Contreras who shared a second wicket partnership of 138. In reply the visitors were limited to 140 for three. On Monday evening the Saints Under 15s travelled to play Wembdon in the semi final of the TDYCL Cup where batting first the visitors made 174 for four of which both Nick Watson and Danny Woolcott made 38 each, Henry Mason- Walshaw hit 26 while Theo Jones ended 22 not out. In reply Wembdon were all out for 113 in 17.3 overs Archie Scott taking three wickets for two runs.

Taunton St Andrews are second best against Bridgwater
Taunton St Andrews came off second best when they travelled to the Parks play WEPL Premier One table toppers Bridgwater on Saturday afternoon. Batting first the hosts were bowled out in the final over for 319 of which Alex Eckland made 101 off 105 balls with 15 fours and Ryan Thorpe hit 42. Advertisement Opening bowler Marcus Sapiecha was the pick of the Saints attack claiming four for 73. When Saints replied their openers put on 62 before Louis Kraucamp was out for 24 in the 12th over. Fellow opener Jay Terry stayed at the crease to take the total onto 97 before he was run out for 54 which he scored off 64 balls. Wickets then tumbled until Ollie Heard weighed in with 35 off 22 balls which included three 4s and three 6s before Saints were all out for 219 in the 45th over. Jamie Ogborne was the most successful bowler ending with three for 23. After choosing to bat North Petherton amassed 384 for four from their 45 overs, and then dismissed their hosts for 74 in 15.3 overs. Advertisement Saints A XI were at home to North Perrott Seconds in Division Four of the SCL where batting first the home side were dismissed for 140 in 30.3 overs At one stage of the innings Saints had slipped to 36 for four before opener Stuart Hockey with a patient 34 off 52 balls added 60 runs for the fifth wicket with Julian Webster who made 59 from 63 deliveries. For the visitors Mark Dunning claimed three for 29 while Pavan Wategadara ended with three for 49. When Perrott replied they 141 for two thanks to Ryan Sheldon who hit 81 from 64 balls and James Marshall-Jones with an unbeaten 30, the pair putting on 135 together. Advertisement The Saints Under 9 and Under 11 teams enjoyed a successful time when they took part in Softball Cricket Tournament that was hosted by North Petherton CC last weekend. In addition to the hosts and Saints both Cheddar and Lympsham and Belvedere took part and all parties enjoyed the fun cricket event that was a great success. Saints Under 9s won each of their three games while the Under 11s were successful in one of their matches and just missed out in close encounters in the others.

Wafi Energy reports Rs873m PAT for Q1 2025
KARACHI: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (formerly Shell Pakistan Limited) has reported a profit after tax of PKR 873 million for the first quarter ending March 31, 2025, compared to a profit after tax of PKR 314 million in the same period last year. The Board of Directors of Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (WEPL) announced the first quarter results for the company on Wednesday. According to company announcement, it has maintained its market share despite ongoing challenges in the oil industry, including rising operational costs from changes to the sales tax regime and persistent illicit petroleum trade, demonstrating operational resilience and strong network controls. In the Lubricants business, WEPL achieved growth in both the consumer (B2C) and industrial (B2B) segments. The company secured key strategic partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Hyundai and Suzuki. Additionally, the B2B segment maintained its leadership in the mining sector. In the Mobility segment, WEPL expanded its Shell-branded retail network, adding four new sites and upgrading three existing stations.
