Notre Dame's Aamil Wagner chosen as a nominee for the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team
Junior offensive lineman Aamil Wagner has been chosen as a nominee for the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, an honor that recognizes one's commitment to community service and leadership off the field.
The Ohio native is one of 197 nominees for the honor. The final list for the 2025 Good Works Team will be announced in September and will consist of 22 football student-athletes and one honorary head coach.
In 2024, Fighting Irish linebacker Jack Kiser was selected to the Good Works Team, while Marcus Freeman was named the team's honorary head coach for their efforts in the community.
On the field, Wagner has developed into an anchor on the offensive line at right tackle and will continue to be a key piece to a team looking to return to the College Football Playoff.

Where Tennessee football is predicted to finish in 2025 SEC standings
2025 will mark the fifth football season for Tennessee under head coach Josh Heupel. He has compiled a 37-15 (20-12 SEC) record with the Vols from 2021-24. Heupel guided Tennessee to its first College Football Playoff appearance in program history last season. He is also 2-2 versus both Alabama and Florida. 'Embarking into year five, as I was getting ready for today, I really rewound back to year one and how myself and our staff came to Tennessee and the adversity in which we took the program over,' Heupel said at SEC media days. 'I'm really proud of what we've done, from roster management to some of the recruiting things we've had to deal with. It's how I know our best is in front of us. What has crippled other programs in the past, University of Tennessee and our football program has been able to flourish. You look over the last three years, 30 wins, the most wins in Tennessee in the stretch of three years of Tennessee football since the late '90s, if you look at the College Football Playoff, New Year's Six bowl wins, you look at what we've done in the NFL draft. The best stretch of NFL draft picks in Tennessee in over two decades. "While we've been able to have that success on the field, players have done an unbelievable job inside our community. Each year we've set a team GPA record in the history of Tennessee football. I'm extremely proud of what our staff and our players have done here in a short amount of time." Following SEC media days, media members voted on the order of finish for league teams in 2025. Tennessee is predicted to finish in ninth place. Texas is projected to win the SEC and Georgia is second. Follow Vols Wire on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).

Is Royal Portrush the best course in Ireland and Northern Ireland?
The British Open (ahem ... Open Championship) skipped Royal Portrush from 1951 to 2019, and we'll let Golfweek columnist and Northern Irishman Eamon Lynch explain why elsewhere. Instead, we'll share some data on why you shouldn't make the same omission on any Irish golf trip. Royal Portrush's Dunluce Links, site of this week's British Open, is ranked by the vast corps of Golfweek's Best course raters as one of the top 10 courses on the Emerald Isle. Gaining fame on television and streaming, it provides to American audiences a great glimpse of what's available with true links golf in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. But is it the best the island offers? Click here to find out and to see the numbers on how the top 10 stack up. And know this: No matter where you travel for golf in Ireland, you're in for something unforgettable. Long days, long walks and long laughs are all part of the mix, but the courses are the stars of the show. The southwest of Ireland started drawing in American golfers decades ago, and the tour buses are still circling the Ring of Kerry to deliver players to famous courses. Those same tour buses can be spotted in the parking lot at Royal Portrush, players eager to travel north to experience the sandy dunes they've seen in two British Opens in the past six years. But there's a whole lot more in play on the island. In particular, don't skip the northwest of Ireland, where you might play day after day without seeing another American. The Irish accents and wild courses in this part of the world are absolutely worth a trip on their own. Don't miss Carne, another course that makes our Golfweek's Best list of the top 10 courses in Ireland. On the way to Carne, make a stop at the amazing Enniscrone. On the way to Enniscrone, plan to stop at County Sligo, Strandhill, Donegal, Rosapenna, Cruit Island, Portsalon and absolutely at Ballyliffin. You get the idea. Even the courses that didn't make our top 10 might would make yours. If you've played golf in Ireland or Northern Ireland, you already know all this, so sorry for the indulgences here. If you haven't been, it's time to go. And for even more help, check out our ranking of the best modern courses and classic courses in Great Britian and Ireland. Both those lists are packed with Irish gems. And click here for a video to see exactly what makes the island so special.

Cowboys third-year bench guy is sleeper to find his way into starting lineup
It's almost a forgone conclusion that Terence Steele and Tyler Guyton will begin the 2025 season as the Dallas Cowboys starting offensive tackles. One is a first-round pick, and the other is the highest paid lineman on the roster. The Cowboys might not want to admit it, but money and draft pedigree play around these parts and these two players will be given every opportunity in 2025. The only problem here is neither of these offensive tackles are very good in pass protection. In fact, a case can be made they're downright terrible at it. With Guyton just 24 years old, that could definitely change in an instant, but both tackles struggled mightily with this portion of their jobs. As such, the man situated directly behind them has a lot to gain from a tumultuous preseason from the starters. Asim Richards, the back-up left tackle and a potential 2025 swing tackle, is another 24-year-old with upside. The former North Carolina product has been a steady contributor in Dallas, logging 220 offensive snaps over the past two seasons. Working primarily at LT, Richards is a direct alternative to Guyton. Guyton reportedly is having a great offseason but the same was said at this time last year so words of hype should be taken with a grain of salt. Guyton has all the physical skills be a solid LT in the NFL if he can just take a step in the head and heart department. Richards seemingly has the head and heart covered and has been showing steady gains from the physical side of things. He doesn't have the ceiling of Guyton but he offers a decent floor. His ability to set the floor likely contributed to Chuma Edoga leaving in free agency and offers Dallas a solid Plan B should Guyton falter. It's difficult to say if Richards is an option at right tackle. He's worked almost exclusively on the left and the Cowboys may want to focus the rookie Ajani Cornelius on that task opposite Richards. Steele is a good enough run blocker and extremely durable anyway, so it's likely Richard's best chances will come behind Guyton at LT. Guyton is someone everyone should be rooting for and the someone the coaching staff is encouraged to be patient with. His potential is undeniable and the rewards well worth some bumps in the road. But Richards is in a very, dare it be said 'awesome' situation as a backup coming to camp. He's a favorite for a top reserve role and he has a reasonable path to starting lineup. If he develops at the same rate he's been trending, he could be a starting quality OT by some point this year.
