With Qi2.2 certification, Belkin reinforces its commitment to quality, safety, and performance for the next generation of wireless charging
LOS ANGELES, July 15, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Belkin, a leading consumer electronics brand for over 40 years, today announced it has received official Qi2.2 certification from the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) for its upcoming products. As one of the first accessory brands to deliver Qi2.2-certified devices, Belkin is helping bring the next generation of wireless charging to market – enabling faster wireless charging speeds, broader compatibility, and improved performance for consumers.
Belkin's close partnership with the WPC since 2015 has been instrumental in bringing these advancements to consumers. As an early adopter and long-time contributor to WPC standards, Belkin was selected as one of a small group of trusted manufacturers to test and certify Qi2.2 products ahead of the broader industry rollout.
All Belkin products undergo rigorous safety, quality, and performance testing. The company's global headquarters includes WPC certified test equipment and state-of-the-art test labs dedicated to full product lifecycle validation – ranging from mechanical and environmental assessments to real-world performance evaluations. Additional testing is conducted in Belkin's engineering hubs in China and Taiwan. Every Qi2.2-certified product is backed by Belkin's industry-leading warranty and customer support.
In the coming months, Belkin will roll out several Qi2.2-certified products designed to support a wide range of devices. These chargers will deliver 5x faster charging speeds* while maintaining Belkin's signature commitment to safety, reliability, and design.
"Belkin has a long history of shaping industry standards alongside trusted organizations like the Wireless Power Consortium and USB-IF," said Brian Van Harlingen, Chief Technology Officer at Belkin. "Securing first-mover Qi2.2 certification is another proud moment in that legacy – cementing our role in defining what fast and universal wireless charging will look like for the next generation of devices."
Qi2.2 is the latest standard from the WPC, building on the Qi2 magnetic power profile introduced in 2023. It is expected to enable charging speeds up to 25W and expand wireless charging to new device categories. Like its predecessor, Qi2.2 features intelligent magnetic alignment for a safer, more reliable connection, while remaining backward-compatible with older Qi devices. It also includes advanced safety enhancements to protect device batteries and ensure consistent performance.
*Based on internal testing, charging delivers up to 25W of power, compared to a 5W Qi charger. Actual results will vary.

Delta will soon use AI to set its ticket prices — here's what this means for travelers

Let AI do it. People are turning to AI for couples therapy and money hacks to pay down debt — now, airlines are relying on it to set ticket prices. The Atlanta-based airline is one of the first of its kind to publicly announce its use of artificial intelligence. Last fall, Delta said it planned to use AI technology to price 1% of its tickets at whatever a customer was willing to pay. The Atlanta-based airline hopes to utilize AI to do the dirty work of setting ticket prices. Charlie's – Now, reportedly, the airline is hoping to utilize AI to set ticket prices on 20% of its domestic flights by the end of the year, according to The Points Guy. On an earnings call last week, Delta announced that it will test out the tech setting flight prices for approximately 18-24 months to see if it's successful — and if it is, it seems that the airlines will make it a permanent thing, according to View From The Wing. Ultimately, Delta wants this new change to be in the customer's favor. '[It's] a full re-engineering of how we price, and how we will be pricing in the future. [It's to] get inside the mind of our consumer and present them something that is relevant to them, at the right time, at the right price,' Glen Hauenstein, Delta's President, said, according to View From The Wing. The Post reached out to Delta Airlines for a comment. Operating with a customer-first approach is maybe how Delta landed on the list of the best airlines of 2025. Delta's AI ticket pricing will undergo a test period lasting approximately 18-24 months. AFP via Getty Images According to The Points Guy, the airlines not only took the cake for the seventh year in a row — but it was also named the most reliable on-time airline in the U.S. 'What put Delta over the top in 2025 was its strength across all the categories we analyzed, from the consistently strong, on-time airline operation it runs to the experience customers have at the airport and in their seats,' the outlet wrote in their report. Of course, with every good thing comes some bad. Earlier this month, a flap from a Delta Airlines flight on its way to Raleigh-Durham International Airport from Atlanta fell from the sky and landed on a driveway in a North Carolina neighborhood. The flag was 'evidently separated' from the left wing, yet the flight managed to have a safe landing once it reached its destination, according to a spokesperson.

Sacramento's Ten Acres Pharmacy to close its doors after 5 years

Sacramento's Ten Acres Pharmacy announced that it is closing its doors after five years. This comes after big-box stores shut down hundreds of locations across the nation. "I am a pharmacist. That is what I do," said Sonya Frausto, who owns Ten Acres Pharmacy in the Curtis Park/Land Park area. "Knowing that I can't take care of them anymore because of something that is not in my control is the worst of this whole decision." Frausto said poor reimbursements from Pharmacy Benefit Managers, or PBMs, are to blame, and it's driving neighborhood pharmacies like hers out of business. "This is a critical service in the community, and it's so sad to see it go away," said Mary Odbert, who came by the pharmacy to tell Frausto she was sorry. Frausto said she started paying anywhere from 3 to 25 percent more for drugs, but insurance companies continued to pay her the same amount. "We're looking at a future where there are going to be fewer and fewer brick and mortar pharmacies in people's neighborhoods," said democratic state senator Scott Wiener from San Francisco. Weiner introduced a bill that would create a consistent rate across PBM reimbursements and prevent PBMs from pushing patients to use mail order. "Health care should never be about money," said Frausto. "It should always be about care." Frausto said this change could have saved her pharmacy had a similar bill passed last year. Wiener told CBS13 that the bill is already gaining bipartisan support and believes the governor is backing it now, too. "This year we've actually been working with the governor and put a piece of the bill into the budget," said Wiener. Frausto said what she is going to miss most about the pharmacy is the people they serve. She said the final day of Ten Acres will be August 20. "We see women who are pregnant and now their babies are five years old," said Frausto. "The reality is that I am going to miss taking care of people."

Ethernet is Winning the War Against InfiniBand in AI Back-End Networks, According to Dell'Oro Group

$80 B in Ethernet Switch Spending Up for Grabs Over Next Five Years REDWOOD CITY, Calif. , July 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the recently published AI Networks for AI Workloads report by Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the telecommunications, security, networks, and data center industries, Ethernet is winning the war against InfiniBand in AI back-end networks, potentially driving nearly $80 B in data center switch sales over the next five years. "When we first initiated our coverage of AI Back-end Networks in late 2023, the market was dominated by InfiniBand, holding over 80 percent share," said Sameh Boujelbene, Vice President at Dell'Oro Group. "Despite its dominance, we have consistently predicted that Ethernet would ultimately prevail at scale. What is notable, however, is the rapid pace at which Ethernet gained ground in AI back-end networks. As the industry moves to 800 Gbps and beyond, we believe Ethernet is now firmly positioned to overtake InfiniBand in these high-performance deployments. "Although Ethernet is gaining ground in AI back-end networks, a key question remains: how much of the Ethernet opportunity will be captured by NVIDIA versus other switch vendors? In 2024, Celestica, NVIDIA, and Huawei led the Ethernet segment of the AI Back-end Switch market. However, we anticipate significant share shifts in 2025 as large-scale Ethernet deployments at Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, and other GPU-as-a-Service Providers ramp up—creating opportunities for additional switch vendors such as Accton, Arista, Cisco, Juniper/HPE, Nokia, and others to gain traction," continued Boujelbene. Additional highlights from the July 2025 AI Networks for AI Workloads Advanced Research Report: Growth from GPU-as-a-Service Providers such as CoreWeave, Lambda Labs, Vultr, and others is projected to outpace that of Tier 1 Cloud Service Providers in the next five years. The majority of the switch ports deployed in AI back-end networks are expected to be 800 Gbps by 2025, 1600 Gbps by 2027, and 3200 Gbps by 2030. Co-packaged optic adoption in AI clusters will start to materialize in the next few years, led by NVIDIA. About the Report Dell'Oro Group's AI Networks for AI Workloads Advanced Research Report explores the use cases that optimize InfiniBand vs. Ethernet in AI back-end networks, as well as the choices made by large Cloud Service Providers. The report also provides a 5-year market forecast on a worldwide basis, by customer type, by InfiniBand vs. Ethernet, and by port speed.
