Emma Roberts Revealed The Reason She Waits Almost A Week Before Washing Her Hair On Vacation

In an interview with Popsugar, the 34-year-old American Horror Story actor revealed she has "no shame" about not washing her hair on vacation.
Speaking with the publication, Emma broke down how, while she's away on a trip like Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, there are two constants: reading books by the pool and avoiding shampoos and conditioners.

"I try not to wash my hair on vacation. I put my hair into braids and jump in the ocean," Emma said. "That's what I do instead of shampoo and conditioner."
Emma explained that she's run into problems when mixing her freshly colored hair with random hotel products, so she opts for the more natural approach of an ocean cleanse. "I've washed my hair when I've just dyed it and it's turned a crazy color," she said. "When I have blond hair it's turned yellow, and when I've had red hair it washes it all out. So I get so scared to really give my hair a real wash."

According to Popsugar, Emma goes as long as five days without washing her hair. "I try to get a blowout the day before I leave for vacation, and then I will ride that blowout into the dry-shampoo end."
"I don't care, I just dry-shampoo and jump in the ocean," Emma added. "I have no shame about it . . . Nothing looks better than saltwater hair."

Those are strong ticket sales for an original, adult-skewing tentpole. But the $250 million-budgeted 'F1' will require many laps around the track to justify its massive price tag. In other box office news, Disney's 'Lilo & Stitch' is inching closer and closer to the billion-dollar milestone. So far the live-action remake has grossed $564.2 million internationally and $972.7 million globally after seven weekends of release. With those ticket sales, 'Lilo & Stitch' has officially overtaken 'A Minecraft Movie' ($954 million) as the year's highest-grossing Hollywood release. However, China's blockbuster 'Ne Zha 2' remains by far the biggest film of 2025 with $1.8 billion in the bank. Meanwhile, another family-friendly Disney property, Pixar's intergalactic adventure 'Elio,' continues to crater with $41.7 million overseas and $96.8 million worldwide after three weekends of release. This dismal turnout, despite decent reviews and audience scores, signals that original animation is facing dire straits at the box office.
