Award-Winning Self-Service Registration: DERMALOG Sets New Standards for Security and Efficiency
HAMBURG, Germany, July 1, 2025 /CNW/ -- With its Self Registration Kiosk and all-in-one VF1 scanner, DERMALOG has developed a compact solution that integrates every step of a biometric registration process. The system has now been honored with the German Innovation Award 2025 by the expert jury of the German Design Council.
At the heart of the system is the unique VF1 scanner – the only device worldwide that captures both fingerprints and ID documents using a single scanning surface. This is complemented by an intelligent camera system for facial image capture. With its intuitive user interface and high processing speed, the kiosk is especially suited for high-traffic environments such as airports, large-scale events and government facilities.
"Our goal was to develop a solution that makes the registration process more convenient, faster and more secure for everyone involved," says DERMALOG CEO Günther Mull. "With the Self Registration Kiosk, we offer a state-of-the-art platform for digital identity verification that enhances user convenience while significantly streamlining workflows."
The award-winning kiosk combines advanced biometric technology with automated data capture and intelligent document verification. It reduces manual processing, accelerates registration and ensures that both identity documents and biometric features are captured accurately and spoof-resistant. This makes the system a powerful tool in the fight against identity fraud, setting new standards for secure and efficient check-ins in high-demand settings.

Ronaldo's latest move met with brutal statement by Prem winner 'He's done'
Cristiano Ronaldo has committed his future to Al-Nassr for the next two years in a deal worth a stunning £492million, but Emmanuel Petit has slammed the move and claimed it shows he has fallen away from the top level Former Arsenal and Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit has taken aim at Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming the Manchester United legend is "done at the highest level" after signing a new deal with Al-Nassr. Ronaldo's future was up in the air this summer after he teased "this chapter is over" at the end of the last Saudi Pro League season, leading to speculation he could link up with rivals Al-Hilal. But the 40-year-old quickly ended speculation over his future by putting pen to paper with the Middle East outfit over a new deal that will reportedly earn him around £492million. That makes him the top-earning athlete in the world and Ronaldo has shown he has no plans to slow down or retire in the immediate future - having helped Portugal win the Nations League last month. He has also continued to plunder an impressive amount of goals after netting 35 times in 41 games last season. However, Petit - who won the Premier League with Arsenal in 1998 - believes that Ronaldo will not return to the top level in Europe after committing his future to Al-Nassr. "Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he is done at the highest level with his new Saudi deal, but he confirmed that when he left Manchester United," Petit told Escapist Magazine. "Having said that, no one could have matched the crazy money he is being paid, but at 40 he is still playing well and performing for the national team. "I expect to see him at the World Cup next year but I'm not shocked he is staying in Saudi, no one could've matched those terms. They are crazy." Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr at the end of 2022 after an accrimonious departure from Manchester United, who he accused of "betraying" him by forcing him out of the club. The veteran star will go down as one of the greatest players to have played the game after netting a career total of 956 goals and he is now chasing 1,000. Ronaldo still appears to be hungrier than ever after signing another deal with Al-Nassr. When his new contract was announced, he wrote: "A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let's make history together." He said he received offers to play elsewhere this summer before ultimately committing his future to the Middle East, signing until 2027.

Met Office urges anyone on public transport to carry this with them this week
The Met Office is predicting a steady increase in temperatures again this week with a heatwave set to return - with specific advice for commuters to follow Britain's mercury is set to shoot back up to over 30C by the end of this week, making public transport a haven for hot and stuffy conditions. The Met Office has confirmed a third heatwave is coming, with 32C highs set to swelter the south east and eastern parts of England by this weekend. That means people who use buses, trains and the underground system to get around could see themselves in potentially uncomfortable conditions this week which could impact their health. Standing on the London Underground, surrounded by people doing the same, is a daily occurrence in the capital. The Met Office urges people who are making commutes in busy hubs to carry a bottle of water with them as a priority, and a miniature handheld fan to help circulate the hot air. The Met Office's health advice, which is released alongside the UKHSA says: 'The heat can affect your health and make you feel unwell, there are many simple things you can do to keep yourself safe.' How to keep cool during the heatwave 'Make the most of the weather by staying well whilst using public transport,' they explained. Whether you're going out with friends or going to work, one of the things that will help you cope with the heat is the clothing you wear. The Met Office recommends dressing comfortably and lightly, choosing light fabrics in light colours. Anyone who begins to feel unwell due to the heat while on a train or bus is urged to get off at the next stop for some fresh air. People are also encouraged to avoid the direct sunlight during the hours of 11am to 3pm, which is when temperatures are at their peak. If this is not possible, wearing a wide-brimmed hat and applying sun-cream is advised. Which London Underground lines have air conditioning? Secret London said that some London Underground tube lines have air conditioning installed, including the District, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines. In 2024, the Victoria line in London was named the hottest of them all in the capital, with an average temperature of 30C between June and October. Central and Bakerloo lines followed closely behind. TfL has told passengers using the Tube to "look out for each other while travelling" and also backed the Met Office's calls for everyone to carry water with them.
