Himachal Pradesh CS visits CRDA office
Guntur: Himachal Pradesh state chief secretary Prabodh Saxena and planning department advisor Dr Basu Sood visited AP CRDA office in Vijayawada on Wednesday. AP CRDA additional commissioners G Surya Sai Praveen Chand and Mallarapu Naveen explained about land pooling system and how they acquired 30,000 acres of land under land pooling scheme, how the government maintained transparency and gave returnable plots to the farmers who gave their land for the construction of state capital Amaravati through power point presentation.
They explained about the distribution of pension Rs 5000 per month to the poor in the state capital, construction of housing colonies, TIDCO Houses, construction of school buildings, Primary Health Centres, Skill Development Centres for women and employment opportunities. They explained about construction of MLA quarters, IAS officers' quarters, IPS officers' quarters, MLC quarters, High Court towers, housing colony for judicial officers, and Assembly buildings complex.
They explained how they mobilized funds from HUDCO, World Bank, and Asian Development Bank for the construction of State capital Amaravati. They explained how greenery is being developed. Later, they visited Undavalli Caves and VIT Campus. They explained how the government is developing Amaravati as an educational hub.

Karnataka police to wear blue peak caps once again
Bengaluru: In a nod to the long-standing demand from police ranks, chief minister Siddaramaiah approved the introduction of blue peak caps for constables, head constables and assistant sub-inspectors. Interestingly, the blue peak cap is not new to Karnataka police. It was first introduced in the early 1980s by then CM Gundu Rao, replacing the colonial-era khaki slouch hats. However, the caps were short-lived, vanishing within six months due to discomfort and practicality issues. Despite a recent committee led by ADGP-KSRP Umesh Kumar recommending against replacing the existing slouch hats, the govt chose to move forward with the change, citing persistent requests from personnel on the ground. The new design is modelled on the Telangana police cap, selected after reviewing caps from several states including Maharashtra, Delhi, Goa and Tamil Nadu. "The slouch hat has been part of the constabulary uniform since British era, but many officers find it outdated and uncomfortable," a senior IPS officer said, adding: "The demand for change has been strong, but whether this new cap will stand the test of time remains to be seen." The govt is expected to place an order for over 85,000 blue peak caps to cover all eligible personnel within the department's nearly 1 lakh-strong workforce.

Parag Jain appointed RAW Chief
New Delhi, June 28 (UNI) Parag Jain, the 1989-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Punjab cadre who played a key role in Operation Sindoor, will be the new Chief of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), replacing Ravi Sinha. Jain will take office from July one. 'The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Parag Jain, IPS, to the post of Secretary, Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW), under Cabinet Secretariat, for a tenure of two years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post until further orders, whichever is earlier…' an official said. Jain has more than two decades of experience and is currently head of the Aviation Research Centre (ARC), which played an important role in Operation Sindoor monitoring Pakistani aircraft and airspace during the operation. Brain behind Operation Sindoor, IPS Parag Jain is new RAW Chief
The Union Government on Saturday (June 28, 2025) appointed senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Parag Jain as the new chief of the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), India's external intelligence agency. A 1989-batch IPS officer from the Punjab cadre, Mr. Jain, will succeed incumbent R&AW chief Ravi Sinha, who is due to retire on June 30. Mr. Jain will assume office on July 1 for a fixed two-year term. At present, Mr. Jain heads the Aviation Research Centre (ARC), a key wing of R&AW. He is said to have played a pivotal role in Operation Sindoor by providing intelligence inputs that enabled precision missile strikes on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. Mr. Jain has previously served in various capacities in Punjab during its terrorism crisis, including as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG). His past assignments also include significant responsibilities on the Pakistan desk of R&AW, and he was posted in Jammu and Kashmir during the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. Additionally, Mr. Jain has had diplomatic and intelligence stints in Sri Lanka and Canada, where he monitored Khalistani terror modules. Over the course of his career, he has held several sensitive posts relating to national security and foreign intelligence.
